I have already wrote in the days of the beta test with a request to add support for Cyrillic. There are a lot of ppl who use Cyrillic, but we cant normally communicate ingame, even cant write in guild or wispers. Please, add it, because it is really annoying to alt-tab to skype or other messenger just to type something about game =|

Do you really see any difference if someone will write in global chat with cyrillic or with transliteration?

I think that absence of russian localization is a great discrimination of a big part of players.. But at this moment it's not the largest problem of this project.

When there is so much unfixed bugs and many people even now didn't get the game access... It's all make me feel so dissapointed

Localization - is a big serios work, and will take a lot of time.
We ask to enable cyrillic in chat. That is easy, i think...

People like this make me want to start speaking my broken and limited Swedish in zone chat just because foreign languages seem to be the end of their world.

I like foreign languages, so long as the users arent hating on us english speakers

Isn't it pretty discriminatory to assume that adding support for Cyrillic is primarily intended for Russians?

I agree that the ability for folks in eastern parts of Europe to use Cyrillic is important and ought to be added. I really think this is important. This game ought to be accessible to as many people as possible.

I had noticed the lack of Cyrillic text in the game, coming from EVE Online I'm so used to see people speak in every imaginable language in chat I kind of forget that it's not a feature for most games.
I hope you all find the needed support as well as those with special characters for their own languages.

I cannot read Cyrillic, but I support this. I don't think it is too much to ask. But out from experience with other games, I think you're in for a longer wait than you might like. They have so many problems on their plate, including delivering the actual endgame adventure zones - and afterwards dealing with the bugs that will introduce.

There is a mod floating around that allows Cyrillic characters in chat. But I agree, filtering out local chats from global zone channel would be nice.

With support of UTF all be able to communicate in their own language among themselves. It is very important for guilds and friends. Transliteration is terrible. I do not know Spanish, Italian and etc., but their alphabet consists of Latin, and they have no such problems.

And what about rest of the community?
We would have to play while having this spam in russian whole day long.

They are (devs) having a lot of problems at the moment. As soon as they can How soon Blizzard added Cyrillic after start wow? Does anyone know?

That doesn't bother me.
I'm not russian and it bothers me that russians always gets to play on "EU" servers, they should have their own megaserver.

I don't think there will be enough russians playing to justify their own megaserver.
And who else should be forced to join them? All cyrillic speaking players, even though some of them are part of the EU?

Look at how hard ZOS is trying to keep costs low by letting the EU server stay on US soil. They're not handing out megaservers for free.

For me it is enough to get German & French answers to my selling/buying requests in trade guilds. It is sort of amazing how these groups of people can assume that every random person shouting to sell something in English, linking items with names that are written in English, would actually know their language. For me guilds advertising in their own language is absolutely fine, but trading messages or lfgs should be in English. Because adding new characters, such as cyrillics, into the game would encourage even more spam in zone chat, I regrettably have to be against this matter.

Well, in that case they should add localization for any and every language out there. Or none at all and stick with english/latin, so to say. Specific localization for a specific country? Nope.
