Because rather than storing them in my bank or across all 17 other characters, I store them in my inbox so that I can get a map, walk away a little, check my mail for another copy, walk back, dig, repeat until I don't have any duplicates.SilverBride wrote: »I don't understand how maps make your inbox unusable. As someone who's currently doing a lot of treasure maps (buying them from guild traders) sure it would be nice if they stacked, but then again it wouldn't really matter because it takes about 5-10 minutes for the dirt mound to respawn so there would be no point in taking like 5 of the same treasure maps in a row, as it simply is faster just to travel to the other maps instead, so I just buy one of each from the zone I'm currently treasure hunting in
However finding a map you already have in your inventory in a chest, yeah that's a pain

Back when the antiquities first released, I went through every trader in game and bought every single map under 500 gold to farm all of the ancestral motifs.
Honestly, I am afraid that if they "rework" treasure maps, they will dumb them down like they've been doing with other things and put a marker on our map so we don't have to search at all.

I'd be fine with that honestly. I've done them so much that I have them all memorized, but sometimes the lightning is bad enough or the placement is just funky enough that the general area is easy to find but the specific spot is tough to see. Most people just use the online maps and stuff anyways, so adding a quest marker, or even something similar to the skyshard proximity compass marker that they recently added, would be nice.

You did WHAT, @whitecrow ? Are you not aware that Deadlands maps are going for 100-200K still?
Dude, I'll gift you the pack rat pet right now (it's on sale, boom, instant 5 more inventory spaces) if you promise to send me the next Deadlands map you're thinking of leaving behind.
I had the map, I couldn't take another. So whether I sent it to someone or left one in the chest, it's the same thing to me. Hopefully this was one occasion where the next person wasn't mad that an item was left in a chest.
But if it ever happens again, I'll send you one.
I honestly think it's time.
How's about we finally let treasure maps stack.
That's ^ actually a valid (more current) point that i hadn't considered.spartaxoxo wrote: »Treasure maps need to stack now that they have tied leads to them. You NEED to do them multiple times over to be able to realistically obtain the leads. And it makes no sense to expect players to run back and forth from town to map location over and over again. It made sense when they weren't really meant to be farmed and had barely anything them you couldn't find in a regular treasure chest, but that isn't the case anymore. .

couldn't you just pull out your banker assistant?
