Creepiest place in ESO

Rivenspire's eerie atmosphere and super creepy ghost sounds there. First time I went to Rivespire I literally felt a cold in my spine.

Coldharbour is, for me, a really depressing place. No kidding. When I had to spent time there during related Main Quest missions for the first time in the game, I really fallen into a depressing mood. Every time I had to go there I want to do everything quickly to leave Coldharbour asap!

There are many other places/delves I found really creepy images. But for the other side I wish to congratulate ESO designers; this game is a WORK OF ART. The visuals, creepy or beautiful, are simply amazing!

Red Senche Alley in Orcrest in Northern Elsweyr I found a bit creepy. I wandered in there back when I was well below level 50, and got my rear end handed to me by a few Hungers (hence the creepy bit).

I find the Nord tombs creepy. And anyplace else where the dead climb out of their coffins to fight you.

    COLDHARBOR.

I don't know if it counts as creepy, but after all the colorful, picturesque zones beforehand, it's black and white dullness is utterly depressing. I hate the place and though I've played through it a couple times, I'll never go back.

My house, the DB sanctuary is pretty creepy. I tried to change the ambience with music boxes and also lots lights but it’s still creepy. I don’t mind it but the lack of furniture space for such a huge house is creepy too.

I love Coldharbour, my favorite place.

As to creepiest, definite Vile Manse. Did it on main and cannot convince my alt to go near it.

Rivenspire, it's so drab and depressing, the whole zone is just creepy.

Rivenspire is actually a really pleasant place! Besides the civil war and the bandits and the supernatural stuff, the locals are pretty cheerful and I feel like even though the terrain is creepy, it makes people look inward on themselves and brings the best about them

Zenithar's Abbey in Blackwood and Orcrest in Northern Elsweyr. Dead cities give me chills.

Also The Imperial City and the sewers beneath. Not exactly the creepiest place, but it's the only zone in ESO that holds me in constant fear and nervous tension, because you literally can die any second without a warning. And a very depressing place, more depressing than Coldharbour itself, because it's your home merged with daedric hell.

In the prologue to the Thieves Guild DLC, when you are robbing the nord house, there is a giant spider right before the exit you were supposed to fight. Thanks to lag, it spawned in late behind me and my tough as nails adventurer who goes toe to toe with daedra screamed and ran like a little girl to the door and exited the zone.

I never expected this thanks for sharing...it's amazing to me just how many of these type places exists in Tamriel, and I've been busy trying to see everyone.

As a location, the only one that I find somewhat unsettling is the IC sewers, the surface not so much, but the cramped spaces of the sewers, alongside the color scheme just make me feel uneasy. I think the one AD nightblade somehow hiding in front of your base and ganking you also contributes.

As a moment, and this is really REALLY dumb, I got a bit creeped out by the boss of the Pariah Catacombs when I first saw him. And it's definitely not supposed to be a scary boss, I mean, he's a big ol' skeleton named "Uncle Bones"; but just the scene of this hunched over skeleton nibbling on a corpse in an unnatural stance, with the dim lighting of the tomb (I usually play with ReShade on when I do solo/questing stuff, can't remember the preset I was using though) at the end of a delve which, if I remember correctly, has only goblins in it, kinda got me for some reason. It wasn't like a jumpscare moment, but it was just unexpected.

Exactly first time I saw Uncle Bones crawling unaturally around it totally creeped me out. I was WTF is that! The had to giggle at the name.

Then they all must be under some kind of hypnotic vampire spell, because who the heck can be cheerful in such a depressing place like that!

The whole area in front of Crypt of Hearts, check it out at night. Direfrost keep as well. Also in the Mages Guild Quest when go to the shivering isles and go into the Chateau for the first time. Some of those old Aylied Ruins are creepy as hell. The one in Auridon with the sicky yellow lights.

    Creepy as heck.

Blackreach: Arkthzand Cavern before the change in the ambient music that played.

When the music was the super creepy gothic Greymoor delve music it sold the location perfectly! It was so creepy and awesome I'd camp out there from time to time, but then one patch they changed the music to be the music that plays in zones like Murkmire's delves, some dungeons, and the like. Completely ruined the creepy feeling for me. :heartbreak:

    Tutorial starting zone.
What is it? Why am I there? Why are there portals to different places? What's behind the walls to the portal room? There are no other prisoners but a ghost next to a camp fire.

I find the Clockwork plane eerie, but it also gives me insane liminal space vibes. Probably not in the exact sense, but the artificial and strangeness is so well conveyed.

It's a combination of the hollow sounds and soundtrack, and then the metallic look of everything, the long corridors or bridges, even the trees swaying like normal trees but then being fabrications. It suits it so incredibly well.

It's one of my favourite exotic places in ESO.

Why was this done? People probably avoided the place due to the creepy music, and they changed it for accessibility reasons. I think that's okay to be honest. Music makes or breaks a game, and this music is definitely straight out of a horror movie.

The area down in the chasm where the voice taunts the NPC character whose name I don't remember, but it continues to do so after you've finished his quest.

There's this cannibal camping out near Red Mountain, surrounding himself with beartraps. You can clearly see what he's roasting. There's also this little treehouse near Vos, where a dead couple is still sitting in their chairs. There's also this humongous wedge of cheese somewhere, behind a bunch of rocks, or inside a small cavity, and it just looks menacing. You know?

Tamriel is a deeply disturbing place, my fellow adventurers!

    How do you mean creepy?
