With Valentines just around the corner, I thought I'd make a post about everything we love about ESO. So slap whatever it is that gets you playing and having fun!

Please keep posts positive and about things you like. I know you probably have things you don't like and are eager to share those, but I'm really wanting a upbeat and positive thread here. So if you NEED to share things you don't like, then make another thread about that. Just you know... not here... if you would please :P

I love everything about the game. I've loved TES since 1994 when Arena released, and though I was "late" arriving in ESO, I've found it a marvelous experience. There are parts of the game I don't utilize - group content mostly, because with 750+ ping it's just not fair to expect others to put up with someone who lags that bad, but that doesn't mean I don't like the group content provided!

I have no problem logging in every day without having to be "incentivized"!

    Good luck with that ;)

I like having the freedom to go wherever I like, and do what I want. For instance, in the 2 other big dog MMOs (WoW and FFXIV) you cannot enter dungeons at level and do them yourself. At all. So it really dampens the mood if you are an explorer.

Also, crafting. Any system can be improved on, but ESO's is pretty good. I like the craftable sets, and the rest of it, as you can really be self sufficient. Even furniture items are fairly well done, having recently poked around all the recipes I have been learning (but not using) all these years.

The outfitting system. Having a companion. Living in a tree. Massive and beautiful areas to explore. For the first time in Elder Scrolls history, staves are good weapons! The palomino horse. Sharing CP and so many other things among characters. A great range of combat challenges to suit the tastes of anyone. That the game is very solo friendly.

The PvP when it's working, and the fact I can play a vampire in this game. I might not like the implementation of how they set up Vampires but the fact I can play as one is nice.

Yep, it really makes it completely immersive.

Also, I love that I will always find little details that I've missed 100 times before in old zones if I just slow down and smell the flowers.

ESO is among my fave online games, so I love a lot of things about it.

The detailed lore and setting is obvious of course, but from a game standpoint I think the character build customzability and fashion is what I like most. ESO's semi-realistic-but-still-fantasy armour is a breath of fresh air in a sea of fantasy games with oversized shoulderguards, angel wings and skulls on fire.

And this goes even for styles I don't like. For example I can really appreciate ESO has *subtle* edgelord armour. It's probably not a style I'll ever use but having the handful of available spiky armours look believable enough is one of those little things that really sells the game for me.

The build and playstyle flexibility =)

FF14 might be just as story-driven as ESO, but the complete absence of playstyle customization kills that game for me.

I love the quests and stories. The Elder Scrolls has always been an RPG first and foremost for me, and it's been fun imagining how my characters develop as they go through the stories. I mainly RP in my head, and while it's been a little more challenging to get immersion in an MMO, I was able to work around game mechanics for it. It's been a fun journey for all my various characters. The Elder Scrolls has seriously fun and cool world building and lore, and it's been fun to get lost in it.

Very little right now, I guess I'm just a bit burnt out on the game.
If I had to pick one thing, it would be that it's the one game that brings together my raiding group, who I love to play with. Other than that, I guess the true endgame, fashion, is pretty neat.

A bit OT, but in what way would you say that ESO offers more flexibility than FF14? Because to me the different "configurations" you can build ESO classes in just seem to fall into the more traditional MMO classes, just with an Elder Scrolls flavour. I've been looking at some FF14 stuff, and it's kinda making me want to switch over tbh.

    Many things.

The first that occur to me are:

Graphics and most of all animations: superb
    Acting
The music, there are songs iconic and unforgettable, like those you ear in the Daggerfall inn
The coherence of the story line, not without lapses, tbh, but all in all above average for an MMO
The world design and the free roaming
The sw/hw implementation:ESO has by far the best controller's use I've met till now (and I've played A LOT of MMO)

I enjoy the combat system, but more for having become accustomed to it than for being really happy about it

The crystal sweet roll will like splendid on a display pedestal. The chicken mud crab thing can be plated as served. The books, Allure of the Sweet Roll, Baandari Ledger, Common Wood Elf Insults and the Courtesan’s Client List would make great readings. Mirri has already requested for the illegible pages of the Oghma Infinium, and this one is hoping the Dog Training Pamphlet will be useful in his tutelage for Bastian.

I love pretty much everything since it's a TES game, but to name specifics I love how amazing character customization is. It's leagues better than the single player games, and the amount of dyes, costumes, and motifs there are is amazing. My OCs look so close to how I picture them compared to how close I can make them look in the other TES games. I really hope TES6 can have as good of a character customization and dye system as ESO.

I love healing and the flexibility of the role.

I love that there is so much content conducive to playing with my friends.

I love when they put humor in the stories, and also choices that FEEL tough even though I know they don't really affect much. Related to this I also love the quests with talking skeletons and skulls and the like.

I love getting achievements, especially when I'm grouped with friends and we aren't planning/ trying to get anything... for example if we all decide to run a pledge and we bring our alts, and then we have an awesome run and get like 12 achievements (no death, speed run, any last boss achievements) all at the same time because everything just clicked. We will all say "yea! We are awesome!" and get a kick out of it. Or when I take an alt into a dungeon and I get one if those "explorer" achievements because I haven't been there yet with that character, and I'll say to my group... "ha! I have never tanked this before on my necro, don't be afraid to give me tips."

    I love Stickerbook.

I love coastal views and creepy places. Two of my favors houses are Grand Topal Hideaway and Wraithhome.

I love the bards and wish we could get more across the world and that they would learn more songs.

I love the variety of pets and mounts.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Eso is great, it really is.

I love the PVP, I play it almost every single day and I think (even with al the negativity surrounding it) it's one of the best PVP modes out there, it plays like a fast paced fps but with build diversity and skill all mixed in. I love it. 😄

Next for me is the zone design, I really like takikng my time and exploring the zone, much like any other TES game.

On a side note, I've been gaming all my life, but ESO is one of the only games I just keep on playing, that's rare for me so there's a lot to love.

I have genuinely loved this game for quite a few years. It has been something I have so enjoyed playing, meeting lovely people along the way.

But as all to common with relationships, it seems the game does not love me & my way of playing as much as I thought.

It looks like there might soon be a parting of the ways, after the obliteration of my 17 other characters & their individuality.

Will see if can adapt but I don’t want to have to play Elder Spreadsheets Online.

    But it’s been fab.

After a semi-sabbatical I had a blast today at Cyro PvP with a new PvP character.
Moved to Alliance locked CP campaign instead of no-CP.
Fights tend to take longer, was surprised how good sustain was. No-CP seems less forgiving.

I like the fact you can grind both PvE and PvP for gear and resources and use them in both game-types (advisable or not)

PvE is something I enjoy as well, but it can't make my blood run like PvP however 👍

    It's Elder Scrolls <3

Truly, it sums up everything I love about the series as a whole
    - the incredibly powerful & beautiful music
    - the humour
    - the emotions stirred within quests and exploration
    - the fully voiced NPC's and memorable characters (even ones who have been looking for me for the longest time :D )
    - the feeling of not only wandering through a vibrant living world but being a part of it

And of course, having the freedom to go and do whatever I feel like.
Plus all the good memories I've made with friends throughout the past 8 year journey. Here's to many more to come
