Sales of Timbercrow costume tanked after ZOS sold it in crown store, need replacement IC reward item

I know I'm not the only one that was doing the IC daily religiously to farm those crates and buy the Timbercrow costume to resale it. It was selling at nearly 2 million gold. Now the costume usually doesn't sell even if priced at 1 million gold. (for 50 days of quest completions)

ZOS putting this item in the crown store pulled the rug out from those of us that were using this costume as a primary source of income in game. When ZOS sold it in the crown store they very slightly recolored it and renamed it, but it was the same thing. So nobody is buying our hard earned costumes now and we have no incentive to go to IC to do the daily.

Please ZOS, please let us buy something else with our daily IC rewards that we can sell again. Putting that costume in the crown store really hurt a lot of peoples in game income. We need a replacement item we can buy with our rewards that we can sell in guild stored for 1.5 million gold once we've collected the 50 reward boxes over 50 days. I'm not asking for a gimme here, we are talking about a minimum of 50 days to get the rewards I'm talking about.

As it is now 50 days of boxes is practically worthless, and it's because ZOS put that costume in the crown store.

About 8 months ago or so they put a recolored version in the crown store. The impact on guild store sales of the item instantly stopped. Reliable sales at 2 million gold stopped, and now we usually don't sell them at 1 million and have to relist them. As it takes 50 days minimum to get this reward, selling the item for less than 1 million means time is better spent on other activities and not going to IC.

Times change. Prices drop, find something else to do or farm for. You said it yourself "time is better spent on other activities and not going to IC." So...do that? It sucks sure, you got that gold while the gettin was good, find the next big one and sell that.

The same was with vCR skin.

If more rewards for dunguans and pvp would be added it will not be a problem i think !

I want to make at least same farm on vDunguans as on resources !

A lot of content is useless, we have daylyes, better we have something we like to do and farm on it.

It means 10k per day, and a IC quest like Arena district takes 5-10 minutes.
10k for 10 minutes is better than a reward like Culanda Laquer or Shimmering sand from dailies.

Renamed and recolored is not the same item. Several mounts are reskined and still different mounts.

Still, can you post a picture of the renamed and recolored costume? I don't even remember ZOS putting a renamed and recolored one.

I'm pretty on it when it comes to new costumes. This costume has never been sold in the crown store in a recolored/renamed state.

PvP items always go down in prices as time goes by. This applies to both motifs and costumes. It's all about supply and demand. I agree that IC should have new rewards, but the foundation of your argument is based on a costume that I doubt even exists.

    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

As another poster said, we had multiple events in a row requiring IC dailies for tickets. People realized how easy it was to get a merit in 15 minutes, and farmed it themselves. The market for the costume isn't everyone, and as time goes by exclusivity drops anyway. The newest phone might sell like crazy, but 2 years later and the people who want it, have it and aren't buying another. The people who want it & waited now can buy for a much cheaper 500k on xbna. So it goes.

I don't remember it was on sale on the CS but prices do drop because everyone just need one for their entire account and demand drops significantly over time. Not to mention it's easy as heck to farm it on your own and also it's ugly [snip].

50 days of boxes is an exercise in patience but not in challenge or time investment.

As the fellow player above points out the outfit is not necessarily flattering either and the nappy is just the last nail in the coffin.

Everyone is free to value their own time as they see fit but the item itself is just not that valuable.

Now the costume usually doesn't sell even if priced at 1 million gold. (for 50 days of quest completions)

You do not have to complete quests for 50 days. There are 6 dailies available, and the first coffer is guaranteed to drop a merit. 10 days of dailies will yield 60 coffers and if you only open one per day, you're guaranteed to get one merit every day.

Yes, it will take 50 days to get the costume, but 40 of those days only require you to open a coffer.

@AJones43865 when was it in crown store? I am struggling to find anything close to it in the store..also, there are still the new monster hats, mythic leads etc that give some people a bit of incentive to go to IC....I agree that most people need more reasons to go to ic but also understand that they do make ic additions fairly consistently (added flags, alchemy bags, dailies, costume , gold jewelry, monster sets , mythics etc) I feel most of the response you are getting on here is due to the complaint you made and crown store claims.
