So I am trying to farm the lead for this item, and it apparently only drops out of overland. I first farmed South Elsweyr for a few hours on a dedicated farming toon/level 19 legerdemain character and got nothing.
Even at this early morning hour, I am still having to contend with PVEers and not able to obtain this lead.
PVE is such a different dynamic than PVP, even BGs, that it makes ZERO sense why anyone should be asked to do PVE content in a PVP advertised game based on TES universe.

✭✭Honestly, PvP is only like 15 or 20% of the game, at this point. Most of the game is geared towards casuals and rpers now.6 -
LadySinflower✭✭✭✭✭You don't like having to "contend with PvErs" to get leads only found in PvE areas. At least when you come over to PVE land you aren't getting attacked and killed just because you wanted to farm the lead. Nobody looks twice at you. It may be a crowded area but our characters just run through each other like we are all ghosts. Except for in PvP areas. Although there aren't as many, there are also leads that only drop in PvP areas. As someone who really sucks at PvP and doesn't enjoy it at all, I don't especially like having to go to PvP areas to look for leads. If someone from another alliance sees me, they don't care that I'm just there for the lead. They come over and kill me.
I'm not here to argue whether PvP or PvE is better, or which community is more toxic. There are great people, and toxic people, in both places. The fact remains that if any of us want anything that's outside the area we favor, we have to put up with going to the other area to find it.
Yeah, it sucks.
ZOS for some reason wants all of us to participate even in parts of the game that we hate. So they put content that everybody wants in different areas of the game. I'd also love to see that every lead that drops in a PvP area also has a chance to drop in a PvE area, and vice versa. But they aren't going to do that. We just have to deal with it. And after all, it's only a game.8 -

✭✭✭✭ESO's playerbase is mostly PVE. actually. ESO pvp does have its popularity, but it's maybe 20% of the playerbase. And that's on the more generous side. You could look around in a town, and maybe see a few higher PVP ranks while the rest of them have the bare starting ranks. ✭As said by others before, a vast majority of ESO players is PvE. But I don't think that it plays any role to be one or the other. We're all in same boat: no matter if PvPers or PvEers, we don't like going out of our zone of comfort/interest. We don't get fun at it. From there, it's a typical case of "take it or leave it". Either you go through the hassle it is for you because you want it absolutely, or you give it up.
Personally, in most cases, I give it up. But it's true that I'm very lazy...

provided you do enough damage you will get a drop. whether you get a lead is entirely rng and has nothing to do with other players being around.
as far as i recall all the other tes games are single player so no pvp.2 -

✭Lots of people feel the same about leads that drop from trials, Cyrodil or Imperial City. You say you're having to contend with PVE players? Imagine trying to farm The Heartland, Weighted Spiked Bridge, Snow Treaders, Moth Priests Cleansing Bowl, Jewelled Skull of Ayleid Kings etc. while being ganked constantly.
The game needs to cater to everyone and the majority of people (as evidenced above) prefer to obtain leads via PVE sources - me included.3 -

I never get these opinions. I do both, honnestly not that hard to get a PvP setup. And at least Imperial City is a hybrid zone plenty of ways to do it.
Think about the PvPers with ZERO interest in PvE who have to Scry just to get a BOS 1pc mythic.

Leads drop anywhere, in any content. Devs look for ways to encourage us to try (and go back to) all aspects if the game. That is not going to change. So let's stop acting like we don't understand this as a community, shall we?!?
Btw, if we are going for a like-should-be-in-like argument here... everyone is wrong. Antiquities requires digging in dirt before charges run out (PvE) and competing with others for node spawns, kills, fishing holes (PvP). So clearly the leads do belong in both PvE and PvP.

What do you expect when u enter a pve area? Do people still complain to get pve in a pve environment? Adjust your gear and git gud. We all know its hard in the beginning but farming the newbies the flowers/dragons in front of newbies so they dont get loot is litterally what these pve tryhards live for.
