LET US RANDOM GROUP QUEUE FOR TRIALS!!!!!

So I'd like to suggest both Trials and Arenas for the finder. Including veteran modes.

Sry did not read al the posts here some questions I have are:

So what would be the numbers needed for each role?

Would the same amount of roles be required for all Trials?

Would the players be able to see the roles needed for each Trials current que? Being the only player a que and not knowing it would be not so good thing.

Do you group players as soon as they que, or wait for full que then group?

Can you fill-out the group manually with out the que dropping, like the current dungeon finder does?

Would you have separate ques for all the different options of achievements like vet, hard mode, no death, speed run. etc..?

There are peoples that always know better what others need to do. In each raid some times you get 1-2 like this. You can not kick them because it is hard to find the replacment. If such system would exist - it would be problem for such people.

They could not say others what they must to do they will be just kicked and replaced the same time.

It ruines their game play, because they know better what you must do

Without some sort of vetting for a trial, especially veteran DLC, it would be a monumentally disastrous idea. I'm not against the idea, but it would have to be implemented more in the form of a party finder with set requirements. A way to advertise or recruit people, like the guild finder, into a run rather than queuing and getting randoms.

If you read the topics popping up over the last month, you can see that the "fake role" issue is becoming more and more of a sore point in the community. Queue times can already be long for four-person content. You want to get 12 people, probably waiting double or triple the length of time to fill, only to find out you've got at least one fake tank, no healers, and DDs who are doing a collective 50k DPS for your veteran Cloudrest, with some demanding that they want +3?

Group finder with listings for content and set requirements which are posted to the entire server you're on, where people get to set their standards for any given group and you can watch it fill up without needing to teleport around different areas posting LFM messages? Absolutely in favour.

Queues to get random people? Hard pass.

I used to be in support of this idea.

However, due to the large influx of threads complaining about fake roles in Dungeon Finder recently, I have changed my mind.

The amount of people who think policing/enforcing roles or eliminating roles is a great idea scares me. The addition of a trial queue would only add fuel to this fire. This ultimately could lead to negative consequences for all as ZOS inevitably listens to the misguided feedback.

Therefore I believe it would negatively impact me, especially as a healer, if this were implemented, even if I didn't use it. I think the impact to the game will be negative a couple of years later when people forget what it was like to not have one, and start demanding that there be tests and fixed configurations and gear inspections tied to the process. Plus, enough people would use it and stop hanging out in Crag that it would make it harder for people to find and join manual groups.

This is one of those cases where the "it won't affect you, just don't use it" argument doesn't hold water. It will affect all people who try to pug trials and could impact culture around dungeon finder too. I think ZOS has been wise to stay away from this one.

I dont think its a good idea.

1) Tanks already dont want to queue for dungeons. Do u rly believe that they will queue for trials?

2) Each group needs a leader. He should know the mechs so he can explain them if needed, or kick a person who is wiping the group.

3) It would split the playerbase. Getting info trials is extremaly easy. U just need to go to Craglorn and write + to the person who is looking for players. If its too hard then sorry. Its not like u can beat a trial with randoms who dont know mechs without saying anything. Even in manual made groups its hard to find ppl for portals in CR or tombs in SS.

4) It would start complains. "This trial is too hard to do in pugs", "why i have to wait 1h to get a trial", "zos do something so the Tanks would queue for trials", "enforce sets and skills on tanks, they arent buffing my DPS", "i'm sick of getting those noobs who cant even do mechs. Lets add some checks so they wont be able to queue". There would be probably more.

5) Rewards. If there would be trial finder, then there would be a reward for using it. It wouldnt be fair who ppl who make groups in Craglorn.

6 Complications. How many tanks do u need for this? And how many for that? For example some tanks can solo tank vSS. On the other hand diffrent tanks wouldnt be able to do it. Also because of that we would get a fake tank because u only need 1 tank to do this.

7) Trials need some experience. Its easier to learn what to do is there is somebody explaining everything. If somebody doesnt know what to do, well... I once agreed to help a nRG run as a tank. There was another tank because group wanted 2 tanks. In the end the other tank was just making my job harder. He was splitting groups, stealing aggro and dying because he wasnt good enough to deal with it.

8) This might be toxic for some but oh well... There would be too many ppl who arent ready for the content. Even in manual made groups u get:
- DDs who cant break 10k DPS with all of the buffs from tanks and healers (example i was 2 times as dd in a trial and i was doing 30 percent of group DPS... in a group with 9 DDs, there were at least 2 dd with less than 10k dps)
- Healers who dont support group at all and are making the job harder (example, i got healers who refused to communicate and were killing the group because they didnt listen)
- Tanks who dont have selfheal, that die to every HA of the boss, that steal aggro from other tank, that just stands in place and do nothing (example, off tank that steals aggro of the boss and dies... i got few of them)
That's all would be worse with trial finder. Just like with dungeons finder.

So after all of this im gonna say no. Sorry but it would affect me in negative way.

I'd just like to say that everyone arguing that people don't pug vet trials are wrong. I pug 2+ trials a day, and a solid 80% of them are vet. I've pugg'd arenas on vet, too. I've had groups bash through vHRC in 20 minutes with minimal deaths (including when I've had to soloheal it because of an AFK healer during the split section), and groups that can't get past the first boss of nRG.

Just like pugging dungeons, it's hit or miss whether you're going to have a good time or not. Worrying about whether they're going to be any good is a worry that applies to dungeon finder, too, but everyone still uses it.

I think a trial finder would be cool, beats standing around in Craglorn all day waiting for trials. I've seen plenty of people recruit for trials asking to see achievements linked or CP requirements - that could possibly be implented at a leaders discretion, no? It would definitely bar some people from joining (me included, I pugg'd all my achievements) but if it were optional, at least it's something for those who refuse to play with anyone below 3600CP without all HM achieves.

Edited to add: On the other side of it, though, if a trial finder was implemented, surely there'd be some issues around groups that don't want/need 2T or 2H. Not everything needs 2T or 2H, so I can definitely see both sides of the argument.

You’d need to fix the current fank tank problem as a lotta raids can’t be done without an actual tank

Alot of trials also can't be done without a certain amount of DPS.

If it is impossible and a struggle to find people to raid with in a players current selection of guilds then I’d suggest replacing at least one build with One that better meets your interests.

I’m in a good social guild with leadership that organizes stuff for pretty much every interest. I have also been in guilds with leadership that pretty much did nothing which lead to the guild being useless.

Lotta craglorn stuff can be done by low dps nowadays, its the vet dlc stuff that’ll be challenging

Being in the place that pugs bringed us today, i am only for universal chat as a group finder -_-

eh, just have a system that works like this. Two tiers, casual and normal: casual is with reduced rewards, so people can finally play them, wipe 100 times and learn the mechs. Then they can try Normal, with regular rewards: at that point, they should at least be able to know how to work in a 12- group and the various mechs. A bit like Overwatch where you can't play comp until a certain point

I'm not arguing about how it is supposed to be implemented, I'll leave with ZOS, but begging everywhere it's not the way to go either.

Finally managed to complete 2 vet Dragonstar to get the staff I wanted, one more arena to go for another piece, but I wasted 3-4 hours in total just waiting and having people leave the group because they lost their patience waiting as well. To that we add the DAYS I wasn't able to find anyone.

The whole experience could be vastly improved by a finder system.

Include a queue for players who have completed the trial on a) vet and b) vet HM to at least filter out some of the players who join groups having no knowledge of the mechanics at all.

But how do they get the experience if you stop them doing the content?
