    @nordmarian

End game raid guilds are going to want to accomplish the goals they set for themselves, and that is not wrong. People who join those types of guilds are aware of the competition it creates, as well as setting the standards for what is acceptable or not in terms of performance or raid members. Different groups have different approaches - some are very elitist, some are very competitive, others want to push members to better themselves, etc.

Just find a guild that has standards that meet your own. I personally do not like ESO logs, or owing anyone an explanation for my performance in the game, and so I either stick to guilds that are more casual and less competitive, who focus more on relationships than performance, or I take a break from group content.

As I said before, if you are letting people walk all over you and are giving up your gear without asking for help and/or support for your own growth, then that is on you.

You do realize there is an option to set yourself invisible to group loot add on right? And custom title? Only one I know of is called like extended frames or something and it shows your class, race, name, title, @ name etc all of which aren’t private information anyway.

People do freak out when I ask to buy something I see looted tho. I get ignored and told not to beg when I ask one time. Even offer lots of gold and still get treated like I’m the worst person they ever came across in life.

End game scene is quite small, you got a problem with one player and you are avoided by 10 guilds just saying.
Beign part of a long therm progression guild and getting removed 3-6 months later because someone get greedy or have a problem raiding with you in there is just wrong. Singing a GS group for example you expect some sort of toxicity if you aren't good enough. But getting used in training runs and loot runs and pushed out right in the end is "drama".

The main problem is that you are not that player overly emotional, often marginalized, bullied, or targeted by the community... so saying no will not help your cause there.

And I'm sick of it... I'm always there in all those farming teams giving people my loot or training teams and help people train and progress from vmol to vmol hm or vcr0 to vcr3 over several months and there we go people get toxic or greedy and steal your place and I get left behind then they come and brag to my face how they got no death vmols trifectas gryphonheart or godslayer.

If a person don't speak english some actualy use google translator too.

You just start a MMO game together with someone, IRL friend or someone you met some months or years back in the game. Then you two end up in one decent raid team after all your former teams were mediocre at best, wipe fests. And your friend join this team and see everyone using a custom title showing off etc and tells u in ur face how she do not want to raid with you anymore and all that. But you continue to be friends outside that, continue to watch movies, or do quests. But then here comes a time when ur friend no longer have time for you but have time to raid in the team you found for you two. Blaming me or her is not what I wanted to point out. What I want to point out is that without her approval those people bragged in her face, put in her face how they are a good team and I am a bad person or a bad player and had me pushed out.

What you guys still do not understand is that addon does not work on its own. So for example if I would be the one making such addon and I would edit my character appearance or name or all that. It would not work the way I intended to. And in this particular case to show off in front of others. For that sole matter my audience, the target, the victim, the bullied, the crush, etc, must also install the addon so he or she can see how I'm such a big player. For this reason the addon is sneakily distributed along other addons. Problem is would you actually spend the time to erase the addon from every addon folder you are downloading from the web each few weeks or months? Probably no. Im sure none of u got your friendship or relationship damaged by a mmo before. So do not judge me like that but judge the addon itself its uses its missuses its advantages its disadvantages and all such.

On a similar note we also got lately the ESO LOGS which will record all your actions during a raid literally exposing your player skills in public. So for example if you are a person with some defects, physical or mental, or simply you are not good at the game, or your build isn't the best, this will allow others to judge you one way or another, correctly or not... and often have repercursions as people will often get judged and pushed out of groups based on longs alone. Even if its just one log. For example in my last raid one of the healers had some bad performances among some others too. Yet we removed only the healer from group which affected her a lot, we found out that althrough healer died and healing per seconds was terrible it was actually a bunch of others problems such as mechanics not played correctly by the group, wrong cp or gear issues on key players, which in the end it fall upon one person alone. The player who was new to the group.

Raids started to become less of an enjoyement and more of a job lately. We need a new build each new patch etc and those issues above make the raiding even less pleasant.

    Ah, here we are.

The problem is, quite simply, not the addons. Reading this is actually very sad. I've been on the other side of this equation-- In the team that after months of hitting brick wall after brick wall, removed a member of the team.
They were a lovely person. We all liked them. But loud. Had a tendency to show up obviously drunk. Talk over the lead. Refuse to accept any fault for the issues they were causing. Too many incidents to even recount.
So, we cut them out of the team. It was unfortunate. No one wanted it to come to that. But it happened, and literally the next run we got the achievement we had been chasing.
I learned that sometimes holding 11 other people back in hopes the 1 will come around is not the answer. Sometimes, teams are no longer a good fit for all their members, and that is ok.

It sounds like this is what is happening here. For some reason, you are no longer a good fit in these teams. You do seem extremely emotional, and not inclined to accept negative feedback, traits that will be difficult to accommodate in a team chasing trifectas.
Maybe you have a disability that simply cannot be worked around for the 1% of the content you really want to do, and I am not sure there is an answer for that.

Regardless.... focusing your anger on a custom title addon is misplaced.

I didn't like the idea of the group loot add-on at first. I didn't download it and just used the group chat to ask for drops I needed. You know what? Most of the time people just don't respond at all even when you ask nicely. They either leave the group immediately, not paying attention to the chat or just don't care.

I finally caved in and downloaded it and messaged people and only one or two players ignored me. People were pretty friendly about it if you ask nicely instead of just saying "inferno medusa plz". I always give them some gold too, so both parties win

Holding a team back is a whole different matter and in my case this wasnt the case. In fact this guild used me in secondary teams and training raids and then as we started to improve some other guys started to jump on our team or caused me drama one way or another. But the worst part is when you are part of that team you start from 0 and you get removed only so a month or two later people whom used to be new to game managed to clear trifectas such as GH or GS and you didn't even cleared vcr3 in the first place. Not because you aren't a decent player but because of toxicity and behaviour issues from others.

Don't think of it as "your" loot, think of it as the "group's" loot. Yes, it gets plopped into your inventory after you loot it...but you literally just looted it from an NPC's inventory, and probably an NPC that other people in your group also helped kill. It's no different than if you stood in front of someone in real life and watched them loot a body on the floor...you'd literally see what they were pulling off the body and putting into their pocket.

The Custom Title thing is generally just silly/annoying. People with 'joke' character names adding 'joke' titles to them because they think they're witty. Meh.

As for loot notifier... eh, I spent years & years playing MMOs with group loot drops & the ability to Inspect other players' gear. I really just don't get this whole "omg, mah privacy!" issue.
I honestly prefer this game had Inspect, just because I'd much rather someone be able to look at my gear & see what I'm wearing, rather than the imposition/intrusion of having someone whisper me. (or, conversely, look at their gear myself, so I can see what that outfit style is; rather than having to waste my time & theirs bothering them in chat.)

OP, get the addon that auto-binds stuff you need for your sticker book. Then you can sincerely tell them "sorry, it's already bound"
    partyhead wrote: »
I am a stickerbook collector and currently at #1 accoording to eso-armory
    https://eso-armory.com/armory

When someone at the end of the trial/dungeon doesn't link items and has items I still need I do ask them as polite as possible if I can have them (sometimes a bit too quickly I must admit, but always after killing last boss).

Then 1 of 4 things happens:
    1. Most of the time I get the reply that they would gladly give it because they don't need it. (items I wouldn't have gotten without lootlog)
    2. The person doesn't reply, I then ask one more time if they saw my msg. If they still don't reply its fine and I conclude that they don't want to give it or they do reply and mostly give it to me (or I'm too late and its deconned)
    3. The person says no, then its all fine and I won't continue to ask.
    4. The person doesn't speak English, this means its over quite quickly too.

In most trials with people I don't know, there is only 2 or 3 that link items they don't need, it's a waste of items to not ask the other 9-10.

See I would never even think to link random stuff like a Navintaas dagger or a Light speaker greatsword. More than a few times people have whispered me about the useless gear and I am always 100% happy to get it out of my inventory.

My guild doesn't do many trials, so I use the LootLog feature to hit /lt at the end of the run and it lists all the items that are already in my book to offer to others for trade.

The funny thing is that I have the setting that also lists BoE items, and sometimes I forget and I list like 20 things I got from treasure chests on that character because they are working on the achievement.

I think it is incredibly difficult to see when you are the weak link.
The person we removed never really understood why. They thought they had been bullied off too, that we were just all elitists, etc.
They never really understood how their behavior impacted the team.
You say you are being removed from teams, repeatedly, because of other people being toxic, and that is a red flag to me.

If the common denominator in multi events is yourself, you should start taking a good hard look at your own behavior.

Addons still help their cause towards toxicity towards others. Cheers. Its a tool they use in their favor. Promote them easy way towards being a bully or toxic or advantages in game one way or another.

In my case the guild master himself was the one abusing this addon. Every raid he asked for my loot. Every dungeon he asked for my loot and probably the most bs was that after some raids if iI was literally doing some treasure / skyshard / delve hunting I was actually asked for that loot too. It was a bit too invasive if you ask me.
Im quite tolerant even if people are missbehaving towards me but... some people take things to the next level then say how its your fault in the first place.

That’s a slippery slope argument. Until ZOS gives us access to each other’s chats via API, we won’t be able to access that data. And it isn’t private anyhow, considering ZOS owns the chat data and can view your conversations any time they like. They sometimes do this in the event someone is reported. Nothing you do in game is private.

... Because we came a long way together and like anyone else I also wanted to clear vcr+3, meanwhile a month later after I was unfairly removed group bragged to my face how they done GH. I'm a long time player and to this date I still couldn't clear vcr3 and then some people new to the game brags to my face how they are better? I'm pretty sure If I join a GH group right now I would also get GH as main tank and not getting carried.
Yes we were still groupped even after raid, doing some chores together and talking on discord voice about raid or general.

Some people are bullies. Regardless of your situation (because we don't know all the sides here, only yours), there always be people who enjoy treating others badly. Get away from them, find another guild, build new friendships. There is no way around it. Addons are not the issue, people are. And people will always found a way to mistreat you if they really want to do it. Just move on.

Tell you what. I've been targeted in the community even before 2018. In fact a friend of mine went through a lot to give me a new @name, char names, char appearance all from her personal money aka crowns. We did that to protect ourselves from getting stalked and bullied and we moved to NA server. Yet I log in ESO one day and some random person in zone chat wrote me messages such "I know who you are" or "You are (my old game ID)" or "You can't hide from us". She quit eso.

Dude, sharing/giving away/selling accounts is against ToS, if you meant she gave you hers. Also, if someone is really bullying you, you should just report them. Harassing is against ToS, too.

I have seen the group loot notifier and still question how this is an invasion of my privacy. They cannot see anything on my machine or in my home. They can only see information in-game and since we do not own our accounts we do not own that loot. As such it is not invading our privacy, by definition.

While I completely agree with you, your second solution sometimes does not work, and sometimes the individual does not respect your refusal. That is the problem. People need to learn to accept a simple, polite "no" as an answer.

There's an easy solution to that too.. Block them if they are being rude. This is a people problem, not an add-on problem.
We use this add-on in our guild when we run raid.. I've lost track of how many times people have gotten gear that someone else needed and didn't even notice, and were then fine to give it when asked. Maybe our guild just has people with better social skills than others, I guess.

How is Custom Titles invading your privacy? It only changes what the people who installed the addon sees on their screen. If you don't use the addon you'll just see some regular ingame title.
Sure, it's part of many popular addons, but noone forces you to use those popular addons and if you want to use them but don't want to see custom titles, you can simply remove that part from the code.
The part you are missing is that Custom Titles is *hidden* within other AddOns without letting the player know that they in fact downloaded CT.
    poke.gif

That was done on purpose by the author(s) (and they have said so here on the forums) because they very well know most people wouldn't install it otherwise. To the OPs point, that is borderline malware.
    slap.gif

I make it a habit to manually scan each and every AddOn i have after updates to make sure someone didn't sneak CT back into my system. Most people are probably not technical enough to remove such a hidden, injected piece of code.

Support will change your @ name in cases where you are actually being harassed. (so that it's untrackable, since changing it yourself allows people to see the change, either from your friends list and/or block list). They have a very high standard for doing this, since otherwise, people would use it to get around other players' blocklists, and they're probably blocked for a good reason.

I have one individual I have personally blocked for their toxicity who I can see their name changes when I check my block list. I'm sure they're changing their @ name to get into things since they've been kicked from a multitude of groups for their behavior.

    That said. Toxicity begets toxicity.
