When the swashbuckler personality is selected and you you run or walk anywhere your right arm doesn't move and is sort of stuck behind you. Can I have my crowns back as it looks really stupid.?

That's not a bug it's just how you walk/run with that personality, and I doubt they'll give you a refund just because it "looks stupid".

I think you can, asking support won't hurt anyway.

From my experience and what I’ve heard from others, ZOS has been good about refunding Crown purchases. Submit a ticket on the website requesting a refund.

I shall have to check out the walking and running again as I just bought it and hadn’t noticed this. So far, I only wish that the emotes used my character’s equipped sword for the salute, point, etc.

After a similar experience I always look for video clips about the item before purchasing. I have read that u can put in a ticket for refund but that will likely take some time. Hope u get a good outcome.

I’m debating whether to request a refund myself.

The run animation needs to be included in the preview options if a personality will affect it. For the swashbuckler personality, the preview included the new walk animation but not the one for run. It’s not reasonable for us to assume that the run animation will be affected at all, much less in the same way as the walk, especially as other personalities that do affect run have that preview too.

The previews should allow you do sipmly TRY a personality, mount etc. Right now I have no idea how mount is galloping, so I have no idea if I want it or now. I heard welva has animation of Senche so it is a no no for me. That is terrible movement but again, game won't ever tell you that before buying.

@Mr_Arce88 , I agree! I'm often very nervous when I buy a mount or polymorph and there is no video of it yet, cause I never know if I will like the sounds or effects etc.

At least we're getting ability to preview mount's summon animation and "rearing up" animation with next update (but so far "rearing up" preview doesn't exist on PTS). Previewing walk and run animation would be very useful as well.

The video of Welwa mount, it uses Senche-raht animations:

I mean as a pose it's great but to carry it over to your run animation is silly. Just imagine if it was the same with the commander personality, you would be running with both your hands behind your back.

Nar, it has to be a bug. They wouldn't do that itinually. It doesn't look natural at all. It looks like you have your hand suck firmly up your bum.

So I filed a help ticket to ask Support if this run animation was a bug.

They told me to file a bug report.

After I explained why that would be completely useless in answering my question, since bug reports get no replies under any circumstances, Support responded to say that they have no contact with the devs and so can’t tell me if this is a bug or not.

Since the unadvertised run alteration is too bothersome to me, and since neither Support nor the devs will address the issue, I suppose I’ll be filing a request for a refund.

Shame that some of the idles look nice, but the run ruins this whole personality for me in actual gameplay, and the inability or refusal from anyone working for ZOS even to answer the question of whether it’s bugged is unacceptable imo.

I got this personality last year and never used it for that reason. Are there any others that change the run animation like that, so I can put them in my no-buy list?

Where can I find a transaction history for Crown Store purchases? Support is asking for a timestamp or proof of purchase in order to process the refund, but you do not appear to provide receipts except for cash purchases and promotional code redemptions.

Considering premium currency is considered the equivalent of cash in some jurisdictions, I would hope Crown Store receipts would be a standard practice. Especially if you are going to ask for specific information that would be found in them.

I have decided to try for a refund but it's hard to know where to start. I use all of my other bought personality's but can't use this one, and it's bad that they should actually bring back a bugged personality and put it up for sale without even fixing it. That's money grabbing at it's worse.

Surprising really as they seem to be so particular with their crown store items that they should let this one ride.

Not to nay-say y'all here, but I'm pretty certain that's intended; and it's fairly realistic (by ESO standards, anyway).

It's meant to be your character steadying their sword on their hip as they run along. It does look bad -- unless your character is Dual Wielding or has a 1 hander in the off-slot; then your hand rests on your hilt like it "should" if you're trying to stop it from swinging and hitting you in the calves as you run.

Try it. Equip a sword or whatever in your off-hand slot (so it rests on your right hip when stowed) and walk/run around. You'll see how it suddenly looks like it was done on purpose. It doesn't look particularly great, but it's about on par with the standard ESO jankiness, I'd say.

As someone who's spent a fair amount of time in life carrying heavy & awkward objects, I instantly understood the body language of this Personality (oddly). It might not look great, but it does make it's own kind of sense... sorta.

Still, though -- if you don't like it, ask for a refund. Best way to influence the kind and quality of stuff we get in the CS is to vote with our wallets. Taking your money back is even kind of better than not buying it in the first place, in a way! :D
