buying the dlcs with crowns question

Darkspecialist
i have eso plus and 11600 crowns. for some reason i feel the need to buy the dlcs i dont have and right now seems like about 18100 crowns would be needed.

is it pointless to feel this way since i will continue to have a sub? and the only reason to buy everything is to not have a sub correct? but would need crowns if future dlcs became available.

anyone buy the dlcs with crowns? why?

I buy when I don't want to sub, but these days I am attempting to steady a sub via writing commissions.

If you plan to sub, there is no point in buying DLCs, you're just wasting your crowns.

decide what your end game is.

If you cant do without Dying Costumes keep eso PLus

If you are ready to let that go then get all the DLCs and have a system for your inventory then and future Dlcs

I haven't bought a single DLC since I'm doing the sub. Craft bag is great, slightly faster research is great, extra bank space is great, and I like having access to the DLCs when I want and dyeable costumes. And it's basically free, as the crowns I get from the sub I'd likely have bought anyway (assuming that the store would start putting out these cosmetics we all keep asking for).

I know a lot of people who favor playing without DLCs as well, to avoid certain random dungeons or just because they don't agree with some part of the game. That's fine too. It does take a bit longer to play inventory management, but it's not the end of the world.

It just depends on if you find it worth it or not. If you want permanent access to only some of the DLC without having to keep shelling out money, then you can buy. I know the thing that pushed me over was that I like buying cosmetics from the store anyway, and the sub per month is actually a bit cheaper than the equivalent number of crowns directly, so I'm getting a lot more for my money.

I've bought some DLC with crowns, but I don't keep ESO+ going. I've only gotten zone DLC (don't care about the dungeon ones) and I was patient and waited for them to be on sale during the various release anniversary events. So it was pretty cheap.

Yes. You don't have any reason to buy DLCs if you plan to always have subscription.

You might only ever want to buy Collector's editions of DLCs if they include a mount and pet which you like - cause buying such mount and pet separately would cost you as much (so when buying them in CE, you get the DLC for free) :)
anyone buy the dlcs with crowns? why?

When I saw 50% off Dragonhold few months ago, I bought that instantly  Good sales are good!
I bought "Guild and glory DLC pack" few years ago, cause I didn't have subscription. I can't regret it (I did all quests for all DLCs there without subscription and it took long time), but when it was 50% off later, I felt a bit sad... :D
So I would buy any DLC which has at least 50% off price, no matter if I have subscription or not.

If they had good sales for dungeon DLCs (750 crowns each), I would buy them all.

Im feeling the same way to be honest. I have roughly 40k crowns and only own a few of the dlc. Just picked up markarth on sale for crowns recently. I don't play the cosmetic game, and haven't found the perfect house that can justify it's cost in crowns yet. So I've just been banking these for a while now. I did participate in the ESO surprise gift giving this year though 😉

Anyway, here's my thoughts on it:

If there comes a point where I'm bored of ESO or only have a couple of hours a week to play, then I'll drop my sub since it won't be worth it to me. But, if I own all the dlc, even without the sub, I can still hop in game anytime and play wherever I'd like. I won't be limited to a few areas that I own. (I'm mostly a pve quester) what you own, and what you would hop back in to play may vary depending on your play style.

On the other hand; if you plan on subbing for a while still, and are awesome at burning through zones, then would you go back and play them later down the road? Even if you owned them?

This is one of those questions that only you can answer honestly. Your play style, your feelings of dlc worth, and your future play time preferences, will be different than mine.

It's 5am here so I'm sorry if this is just incoherent rambling haha! 😁👍🏻

    Would you care to clarify?

The only reason to buy is if you want the CE items, as atm the only reason to sub is not available by other means - craft bag bank space...
