Hi all,

I like the idea of an Argonian based DLC, I like the idea of more Argonian options, I like most of the Murkmire (especially the stone) furnishings.

But I'm really struggling with this zone. It's got so many "hidden" areas, places I can't seem to get to, unexplained potential quests (what is it with the "happy" plants?), and .. well meaning Imperials that feel like PC revisionist early American history.

So I'm asking for help/feedback/suggestions:

-What did you like most about Murkmire?
-Who was your favorite NPC in Murkmire?
-Is there anything you "love to hate" in Murkmire (for me personally, I will NEVER not enjoy killing "The Whisperer" in Spindleclutch.... for some reason my all time favorite villain; not even sure why)
-Any recommendations of things you "wish you had known" when exploring Murkmire?

Thanks!
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I only go there when I absolutely have to. Not a fan of Argonians or swamps (other than Hjaalmarch). I'll do Antiquities there, and that's and end of it.

I love Murkmire! Would love more Black Marsh in the future.

-What did you like most about Murkmire? The music and quests
-Who was your favorite NPC in Murkmire? Xukas
-Is there anything you "love to hate" in Murkmire (for me personally, I will NEVER not enjoy killing "The Whisperer" in Spindleclutch.... for some reason my all time favorite villain; not even sure why) Kotu Gava - hate them! And they always put them in my favorite zones.
-Any recommendations of things you "wish you had known" when exploring Murkmire?

    For the last question:
    Spoiler
Regardless of what you do with Hostia, the outcome is the same. Spare her, she becomes the Skin Taker. Kill her, and her daughter becomes the Skin Taker.

The look of the zone :) Those swamps are beautiful.
And the one special place is amazing:

    Rrl01be.jpg

-Who was your favorite NPC in Murkmire?

I am torn between these three: Sulahkeesh, Jaxsik-Orrn, and Xukas. Can't choose only 1 :)
I would love to see them again!

-Is there anything you "love to hate" in Murkmire (for me personally, I will NEVER not enjoy killing "The Whisperer" in Spindleclutch.... for some reason my all time favorite villain; not even sure why)

There is nothing I "love to hate" there. I simply hate one of world bosses there (Walks Like Thunder) :D

-Any recommendations of things you "wish you had known" when exploring Murkmire?

If you enjoy the lore, and you like to talk to every possible NPC during every part of quests to see what they have to say... Finish all side quests before you finish main quest <3

Though I prefer every single original game zone to any DLC/Chapter zone, Murkmire is my favorite DLC.

I very much like the complete storyline.
Fave NPC is Jaxsik Orn and the gradual relationship that grows from begrudging tolerance to deep friendship.
I love the depiction of the Argonians - exotically interesting and pleasant to deal with.
I like that the Argonians are welcoming and make it easy to want to like/support them - in stark contrast to the natives of Vardenfel, Summerset and Wrothgar who go out of their way to make you resent them.
I like the zone itself - the feel, music, ability to navigate.

My only complaint about Murkmire is that once I completed it, I tried some of the dailies and found them abandon-inducingly confusing to try to complete - arrows pointing to places you couldn't get to etc.

I do like the music. I just don't like Argonians or where they live. So I'm not really interested in the quests.

Same. I lament doing shadowfen too and hate going there. Something about the swamps are horrible.
I have loads of in game collectable achievements to do in murkmire that I am putting off as well as the dalies.

Because they are swamps. It's not a welcoming or engaging zone. I do find Shadowfen worse since it's lacking the Murkmire personality and mystery. Maybe it's an acquired taste ? I'll try again when in a lurking mood. Soon.

I enjoy Argonians and Murkmire. That environment is so much more interesting than the other environments in game.

I think a lot of hate comes from players rushing through content to grind motifs and other things and they don’t stop to just admire the scenery. If they did they might like it more.

I love Hjaalmarch - which is a swamp at least partially. In Skyrim (as in TES V, and now to a lesser extent ESO), Morthal is my home. However I have no use for swamps like Black Marsh/Shadowfen/Murkmire. When I was a child I lived in hot nasty swamps in Texas and Louisiana. UGH. Since that's what Black Marsh/Shadowfen/Murkmire bring back to the forefront in memory, I am NOT interested.

I also have no use for Argonians, Dunmer, and Nords. Each to her own.

When Murkmire first came out, I took my main there and did everything because........achievements. I have never been back since. I hate the swamps. I don't dislike Argonians but I don't have any great love for them, either, and have never played one. In my game, Murkmire no longer exists!

Murkmire is only of the only DLC's where I willing played the main quest (and most of the side quests) 4 different ways to see all the possibilities. I love the zone, except for the Kotu Gava and the absolute ridiculousness of the furniture plan grind.

-What did you like most about Murkmire?
I loved learning more Saxhleel lore and the main story still makes me cry, every time.

-Who was your favorite NPC in Murkmire?
    Xukas

    Spoiler
Kassandra. I should feel pity for her, but don't. Killing her is a pleasure, evey time.
    Oh and same for Myndhal.

-Any recommendations of things you "wish you had known" when exploring Murkmire?
You can go inside the Dominus Fatum! I never saw any of the visitors by the entrance so I never knew.
Everything wants to kill you, even more than Shadowfem. Murkmire is not a place to quest with your tank or healer.
LOOT EVERYTHING. Break into homes, loot every backpack, every trunk, every pot, anything that could hold a pattern. You probably won't find one but never hurts.

There is a "hidden" quest after the main story finishes. Be sure to walk back towards the "regular" entrance, away from the wayshrine. There is a cute quest about swamp jellies and I LOVE swamp jellies.

Be sure to spend some time pickpocketing - there is a are furnishing you can get only from pickpocketing in Lilmoth.

Xul-thuxis is in the "upper" area, around where the Xanmeer home is. If you are doing the main story it will take you there, but you can go in at any time, even without the quest.

The main quest line was really great. The zone is so lush and teeming with dangerous creatures. The Stibbons quest is super hilarious; Murkmire plans are quite rare; and Dead Water gear set is quite strong, since the update.

Murkmire is my absolute favourite zone. I like moist environments, love music, adore Argonian culture and differences between their tribes, scuttleblooms and stranglers mechanics, and really the fact that there's so much to discover. This is the most alive zone in the all game.

My fav NPC would be Xukas.

Closest to love to hate are the main villain and murderous plants. It feels so nice to see some punch cabbage fall down lifelessly after it couldn't get you.

I love Murkmire and im also a huge Saxhleel enthusiast. I'm in 3 all Argonian guilds lbs.

What did you like most about Murkmire? The music, the scenery, the people, and overall storyline. Sidenote: I have roots in South (and North) Amerindian cultures so I kinda feel at home (in a spiritual sense) when there.

-Who was your favorite NPC in Murkmire? Jaxsik-Orrn

-Is there anything you "love to hate" in Murkmire?
    Spoiler
deciding the future of the Root Whisper Tribe. I hate choosing who dies between Jaxsik-Orrn and Xukas

-Any recommendations of things you "wish you had known" when exploring Murkmire? To keep an eye out for the tamed vine-tongues and tablets for the Xinchei-Konu Monument.

I like the murkmire DLC, even if I am not the greatest argonian fan, for its exoticness. The music, the culture, the quests, it differs from the normal ones, thats also why I like the furniture blueprints - because they were not only furniture X with a new skin.

The option to sneak with speed and sneak to avoid the trap plants are very creative, and I enjoyed the option to use that plant to be hurled around in the air to reach spaces you couldn't reach otherwise. It was also the first time that they used the same dungeons for slightly different daily quests that could be shared amongst players, so you had a better option to do lots of those for farming the style pages.

What I dont like about murkmire?
    - The drops of furniture blueprints are abysmal (to the date green ones: you cannot even get them via the random container of the writ vendors), and when you find a blueprint in one of the rare regular containers (without wormfood, those containers are plenty) its mostly regular blueprints instead of zone specific ones.
    - And I was dissappointed that yes you could buy that plant that hurls you around in the air for transportation as an achievement furniture, but you cannot use it for that kind of transportation in your player houses. Missed opportunity. That would have been SO much fun.

I agree; there are a couple of temple areas that have some really meat sounding drumming too.

Exactly - both the Argonian and the Murkmire furnishings are so different - but in a way it's tricky to combine them well with other "styles".
when you find a blueprint in one of the rare regular containers (without wormfood, those containers are plenty) its mostly regular blueprints instead of zone specific ones.

Yeah... I"m really struggling with this. It's weird - some of the stuff I'm finding is actually kind of rare - but not suited to the zone.

It's funny, but I'm actually liking the Kotu Gava - the weird delay of the "baby spawn" is helping me hone my timing on some of my AoE skills.

Its my favourite zone and my favorite nearly done house is there. It will be my first house ever finished. I don't like some of the strangler mechanics they are kinda glitchy for me and don't always work. I can't wait for the big black marsh expansion. Any year now as ESO is running out of other provinces to give expansions too that don't have one.

Xukas best MM character followed by Sulahkeesh. I hope we see them come back for the big Black Marsh expansion.
