Vampire for appearance only.

So I'm not a Rper, hell I'd probably be very bad at it if I tried. However, I've always loved the appearance of the vampire, especially at higher stages. Previous to Greymoor, I'd have a vampire class and be fine using it as a stamina class. The passive was there, but wasn't as important and the look and feel I was going for. I'm talking for my overland, solo character.

Recently as I got bored with my solo MagDK, I decided to re-spec him into a solo 2h stamina poison version. I'm already at a disadvantage because he is an imperial ( I like the way they look in most end game gear). He is also a vampire....but the difference is now, it's really annoying to play him even at stage 1 because of the changes made. Now I feel like I'm forced to cure him, just so that he isn't out of resources so soon. There needs to be an option to utilize vampirism for appearance factor only without suffering the penalties. I don't care for any of the abilities that are on the line, except for being able to turn someone. I'm not sure how it could be done, but it's quite annoying that my playstyle of being vampire characters pretty much got gutted unless I want to play a very specific playstyle.

I'd honestly love it if they just reverted everything vampire related, at least when it comes to the skill line...back to pre Greymoor. I realized that is wishful thinking and there are a lot of folks that like the current version. Which is why I think there should be an option for the vampire appearance in different stages without the penalty and without access to the abilities. Except for turning.

I would just like to have a skin that gives the extremely pale skin tone without the revolting veins and red eyes.

This. So much this. In the Markarth reveal we got to see a vampire that looks normal except for unblemished pale skin. That’s what I’ve always wanted.

They have plenty of vampire style skins don't they? Maybe not the pale look but blood thrall and stuff like that. Maybe I'm mistaken but I just feel like I've a ton of that theme of skins.

    We only have the following
    • Bloodfiend

    • Reanimated Vampiric Thrall
      600px-ON-skin-Reanimated_Vampiric_Thrall_%28female%29.jpg

And they're basically the same thing but one is glowing.

And while those are nice...regular old stage 4 vampire look from the base game was my favorite, except I can't really use that on my stamina based characters even though it's a solo overland character.

Correct, and I do agree with you OP. Was just clearing some things up for our friend. ESO only has 2 vampire skins and a "vampire" themed polymorph ((That isn't really a vampire)). Be nice if they gave us more options, and I also wouldn't mind being given a skin like Elvenheart suggested that'd help my vampire blend in but still subtly show she was a vampire through the paler than normal skin. Currently having to use the Moarmer fish skin when I roleplay and trying to hide the vampire appearance since the Arctic Rime skin makes her look even whiter than the stage 1 skin. :D

When you want your character to look one certain way, all the skins in the game are irrelevant if they don’t make your character look that way. Thank the Divines we got the arctic rime skin because that may be the closest I’ll ever get to achieving the look I want for my vampire. She was finally able to go out without a full helmet hiding her face! Although how npcs can tell she is a “monstrous” stage 4 vampire I don’t understand. I do wish they would make vampire stage appearance skins for the people that would like to use them so their characters could look the way they want them to 🧛‍♂️

Agreed. I think it would be nice if players could make their characters look like vampires without having to have the skill line.

    So vampire skins.

Just ask for a vampire skin or something lol. Or use Arctic rime skin with the Thrall Arterial map tattoo's/markings, close as you can get.
I have been a member of ESO since April 4th 2014 but didn't get a code until recently when I asked.
My @ name on ESO is the same as on here.

You can speak for me as well :)

Since Greymoor, my vampires stay on stage 1. Before Greymoor, they were always on stage 4 - for the striking looks:

    cnlxy1f.jpg

    EWF9oYV.jpg

I have only 2 vampires out of 18 characters, and I didn't make them for benefits (which they used to have before Greymoor) - they only needed vampirism for their looks. These looks are part of their personality, and without vampirism these characters would not exist - literally. Khajiit would be deleted long time ago, and high elf wouldn't even be created.
So I would love if developers either reverted all changes to vampires made with Greymoor, or gave us cosmetic skins for all stages of vampirism. That's why I still haven't cured my vampires - waiting for solutions :/

A vamp skin and a normal skin would be nice. At this point appearance has no value since you can already hide everything about your character anyways.

Or lack of an ability to hide anything. Even if I hid my vampire's appearance if someone targeted her and had the permanent buffs turned on they'd be able to tell what stage she was.

They really need to make vampire buffs/debuffs neutral at stage 1, at least the normal skill cost.

The way they have rebuild vamp feels like a less than half complete toolkit that eliminates more playstyles than it facilitates, and has way more penalties than benefits.

Even the benefits have been neutered to the point you work 5x more for basically the same or less output on average, and is far too dangerous for most to use in group content, and a nightmare for healers for those that do.

Yes absolutely agree. I hate everything they have done to the vampire skill line. The skins are repulsive and no substitute. I would love to have a skin that just looked like the level 1 vampire... the pale skin & red eyes. I have been playing since 2014 and can't remember when I first got vampirism, but it was back when I think the only way was to go and get bitten by a bloodfiend. It was such an achievement at the time.

It broke my heart when I had to cure my characters.
