ID change multiple times?

Hello, I don't know where to ask. Someone changed his ID multiple times (like 7-8 times?) in a week? Is there a limit? It may sound silly and all but the thing is I have some mental ocd problems and even though I got it under control I sometimes do these silly things like changing ID to match my player name and then deciding I don't like it every so often. I am just asking if it looks suspicious or not? I don't want to get banned because of my illness, it brings me quite a relief from daily life. I got it under control now and probably won't be doing it much anymore but I did it like 7 times in a span of few days. Hope it is ok as I haven't read anything about a limit anywhere but it probably doesn't look normal.

Who ID? On PC I don't think you can change your user name.

I meant account name that you can change from the eso website, the unique name of your account that everyone sees.

I don't think there is any official statement or limit on the number of @name changes you can make. However, ZOS has a habit of flagging plenty of activities that aren't against the TOS and applying automated or manual bans ranging from social bans to permanent bans.

I've never heard of anyone being actioned for changing their name too much, but it probably isn't a common thing. You shouldn't be punished for using a system that ZOS has put in place with no restrictions, but the truth is that ZOS is looking for various "shady" behavior and you never know exactly what will trigger action against your account. I'd keep name changes to a minimum for my own safety. You never want to stand out in any way. If you are known as "that guy that changes his account name 7 times a week", you have eyes on you for that reason.

Damn, maybe I shouldn't have started playing this then. I am mostly not doing things like these but I have episodes and sometimes it is just out of control for me. It is mostly silly stuff like this, nothing serious just obsessive rituals and thoughts. I have ways to limit them and gain control but the first time it just happens. I do silly things like starting over for a few times or changing name if it is free like this and then I stop as I gain more control, it is difficult to describe. I must say I am a bit worried now, I don't want to get banned just because it looks strange.

Dont worry, ive been changing my ingame @name regularly for 5 years plus . I change it to suit my mood. It doesnt hurt anyone so its fine. If it wasnt allowed the function would not be available to us. I think we are safe 😊😊😊😊

Ok, did not know, pretty happy with Zaria, in hindsight Zariba would been better but some chance its taken
Tested and yes you can change but Zariba is taken.

I hope so. I am not going to be doing it anymore I think as I am satisfied with my name and character now, it is just the first time I am in a situation that makes my ocd nuts it is hard to control and if it is not anything serious I just let it go a bit because it then lessens the effect for me, it is atypical but there it goes. I really hope there is no trouble, I am planning to play for longterm. Still it would be nice to know officially if we can change it anytime we want. I mean I would like people to know me by my character name so I am the type that would play one character for a time and would want that name to be the only one but I am mostly playing just one so after I am satisfied I lose the ocd fueled urge to change, just in the beginning when I can't decide which class/race to play and I change my mind often I can do things like 3-4 times starting over the same two characters and change names until I feel ok.

Maybe not a limit but a cool down like on character deletion would solve most of these problems

If you are that concerned, get a letter from your physician in case anything were to happen.

Hello, thank you for caring. I don't know how to tag mods or ask them or I would (although I don't want to bother them much). It would be helpful if someone could just post an answer to me if everything is ok. I don't mind if anyone monitor my account as I have nothing to hide, reassurement would really help. Letter from physician would be in slav language though and I hope I don't need to go that route. Thank you for suggestions and help.

The cooldown would be nice, that way I can see this being prevented, maybe even a week or month long one although I don't know how you can do any shady stuff with name change of account? Devs must know anyway right? So I don't know besides changing identity ingame?

I don't want to bother much but could we get a clarification about OP for future? If we are not breaching TOS is it okay to change it regularly or should we do it conservatively? Also is my account ok because I have done it few times as I stated in OP in a span of few days. I don't want to be left in silence and then in a few months have problems or in the future if I decide to change it again? Should I really get a letter from physician?

Changing ID too many times? I know some scammers scam their customer and change name after that, but they record and zos can track them and ban them desisively ! Well change name doesnt affect anything if u dont do anything wrong

@SolOrth Just change your name as many times as you want. Some random person bringing pure speculation and conjecture into a conversation means nothing. If you are concerned, open a help ticket instead of a thread on the forums; The devs and community manager don't get pinged like people think they do.

One player from my friend list changes his name very often (sometimes even two times a day). At first I was very suspicious that he became scammer or something, but then it turns out that he simply changes it to fit his current character

So it can look very suspicious to other people
