Why doesn’t it notify you when someone replies to your post?

So, I’ve noticed if I make a thread and someone replies to the thread I’m notified. But, if I post in a thread and people would me to reply I’m not notified. So, I need to sit and scan each thread I post on to see if someone replied. Is there a way to change this or is this really the way this forum works?

You could maybe @ yourself that way you get notified when someone does a direct quote of you. This is just a theoretical work around. As far as I know this forum doesn't have a setting to see if someone quoted you.
    Example test.

You have to click on the little star at the top of each thread you want to track. It may notify you for other things, but this sets up tracking in my experience.

next to your profile pic at the top left corner of the page there is a gear icon, that says account options (I'm assuming pc version, I don't read this on mobile, so location may be different, but account options should be there regardless)

    select "edit profile"

on that page, there should be a selection for notification preferences. go there and make sure that "someone quoted me" is selected. and while you are there, might as well adjust the rest of those to your preference
    dirty worthless casual.

This will let you know if anyone posts in the thread you post in. Outside of that someone will need to tag you for a notification to be sent your way.

As for why, this is how the forum is designed.

I have done this. However it doesn't notify me anymore either. It used to though...also when someone pressed agree or insightfull or w/e. All the options are still ticked for me but only getting notified when someone replies to my topics. I noticed this also yesterday.

It does if they @ you.

People need to use the @ function when actually replying to people or its pointless, they may not see it.
