    1. I'm ok with it. Maybe somewhat worried about potential future changes but I've felt the same before and got over it.
    2. Mostly Cyrodiil at the moment.
    3. I don't know, I usually get bored after a while and take a break from the game for a few weeks.

I enjoy the game more than other MMOs I love the story and the game. But it does have its flaws. And bugs. And other stuff I'd like changed but it's still more enjoyable than any other MMO I have played. I mean I tried WoW and most quests were go here kill this collect this. With ESO every quest has a story behind it.

    1. I can't really answer that because at times it seems that there's no direction. They do one good change and three bad changes this patch, then they revert two bad things but completely change two other things the next patch, and so on... The changes are fine but sometimes there's just too much.
    2. Hanging out with the friends I've made over the years, PvP raids, and housing.
    3. Usual stuff like poor server performance and justification of unpopular decisions or lack of it. But here I am.

I'm confused about why you need an "other" option when "YES: I am satisfied with where ESO is heading" seems pretty consistent with what you just said.

    1. Not sure. Greymoor and almost no fixes after got me worried for the quality of future updates. And I hate that we got limited in patches because of Stadia. Hope it flops hard.
    2. I just love this universe.
    3. If there won't be fixes for Greymoor quests in U27, I'm taking a break for raging on forums, I guess.

Stopped playing some months ago, stopped entirely logging a month ago. The game has been going downhill for a while now with broken content, no fixes, the old content is completely neglected, things are becoming a cash grab and more and more content is getting punishment mechanics for not logging and playing everyday.

Stumbled upon this poll while changing account passwords before anyone wonders why I am bothering with the forums while not playing. And wanted to leave my two pennies.

While there are certainly aspects that could be improved, all in all it could be a whole lot worse. Nothing is perfect; I reckon we have to take the bad with the good.
"So, drinking is a sacrament to Y'ffre... because it's his way of reminding us not to take things too seriously... You know how the other Elves are. Altmer have their crystal towers, and that's how they want to be — cold and perfect. And Dunmer are just like their Red Mountain — smouldering and dark. We just want to have a drink and not worry about it."

    2. What makes you have the urge to login ESO and play?
Honestly? The thing that gives me the urge to log in and play ESO on a daily basis are the free daily login rewards and the gold I make through daily crafting writs, both of which stimulate my desire to "not miss out on something." I would still log in daily without the free rewards, to do my daily crafting writs, but the free daily rewards are an added incentive. I do wish they could be converted into Crown Gems, but I can also understand why that might be a bad idea; can you imagine the outcry if players missed their free daily rewards due to downed servers? Beyond the outcry that already occurs, that is; it wouldn't be "You've made me miss out on the final X days of rewards," but "You've made me miss out on the final X days of rewards and the free Crown Gems I could have gotten from them!" But since the question didn't specify logging in daily, I'll broaden my reply to include the general desire to develop my characters and just run around and enjoy the virtual world they inhabit.
    Scrollup wrote: »
    3. What turns you off and not wanting to login ESO?
Again, honestly? The need to get some sleep and do other things in the real world. If I'm unable to log in due to the servers being down-- whether due to regular scheduled maintenance, maintenance that goes well over schedule, unplanned outages for whatever reasons-- or due to internet problems on my end, I am happy to play something else (currently TES:Arena) or do other things, but I'm happy when I can log in again.

    1) Greymoor, despite the niggles, is a really nice expansion. It's been wonderful exploring Western Skyrim, and they've done a pretty awesome job with Blackreach (I spent a few hours just wandering around appreciating the views both above and below when the expansion first released). The new dungeons seem interesting and I'm looking forward to trying them out on the live server. The devs are trying to crack open the META and close what has remained a significant performance gap between sets for a long time, which is not a bad thing. They're also trying to smooth out the PvP experience, provide compensatory gear options to reduce the barrier to successful entry, etc - a valiant attempt to do something constructive to encourage more people to get casually involved in PVP gameplay, particularly when faced with a hyper-sensitive niche community that honestly hasn't changed in the 23 yrs that I've been an online PKer (The names and faces may be different but the arguments, etc, remain more or less the same). The Vampire rework has honestly been a disappointment thus far, but can be tweaked to find a sweet spot as they've managed with Werewolf, which is now a pretty viable stam option without being a mandatory one.

    2) Lots of reasons, from the guild community that I'm part of (gaming with a group of fun, friendly people has been a real boon during this pandemic), to building and improving my gameplay with different characters in various scenarios (solo, Trials, PvP, etc), exploring content I've not gotten 'round to before, engaging in bespoke house builds (ESO's TRUE endgame  )... There are so many different facets of gameplay to engage in to suit pretty much any mood.

    3) "Extended maintenance" and instance-related glitchiness are slight turn-offs, and sometimes I feel a bit burned out - but that's an inevitable consequence of spending so darned much time playing one game.

It's nice that there's occasional new content and the game in general is quite ok.

    1. But I would like to have more challenging content. 95% is way too easy.
    2. Functionality as minmap, combat interface, in-game TTC. Sometimes ESO feels like a car without rearview mirror, music player and lights. Add-ons are nice but lazy, unsupported and if you have performance problems ESO support tells you "to turn off your add-ons".
    3. Fix old stuff like upgrading old gear looks, getting stuck in dungeons and the like. There's very little afterthought or problem fixing.
    4. Make stuff stack so inventories aren't flooded with all kinds of cr*p. It's driving me crazy. If other games can do it, so can ESO.
    5. Horse training make it so you can pay 7 or 15 or 30 days in advance. Having to logon for 30 mins every day just for riding lessons is ridiculous.
    6. Crown store and crates are taking things too far.

This game could have been the best MMO around but some of these design (and commercial) choices really make it drop a few points it could have had. Sure it's still enjoyable but not outstanding or exceptional.

A lot of why I log in is to hang out with my friends. I like working on whatever someone needs to get done. I like knocking out more and more of the PvE content that at one time I didn't think I was ever going to do. And for as much as Cyro can be a laggy frustrating mess, it still gets me all hyped up sometimes lol. And the feel of Cyro just isn't something I have found anywhere else. Oh, and I like being a dragon about things and hoarding all the golds.

What I dont like is the constant changes, oh look time to farm new gear, again. I also dont like the laggy frustrating mess that Cyro can be. I dont like some of the tactics that are used in Cyro, but that one isn't technically on the ZOS people so much. And I super dont like leveling characters or doing basic level PvE like clearing zones and all that comes with that one anymore. I would rather watch AD hit BRK front door on repeat like a bunch of lemmings than level up any more characters ever lol

I've been a bit bored with ESO lately, but I'm not sure how much of that is due to the game itself and how much is me getting drawn into activities I don't actually enjoy as much.

My favourite part of the game is questing and exploring the maps, but I tend to think I should do other stuff first to get it out the way and then I can spend however long I have left on the stuff I enjoy. Lately that's lead to me spending most of my time doing crafting dailies (only on one character), collecting the surveys and doing master writs (which for me still involves tracking down motifs because I'm missing a lot) and then I end up with a bunch of treasure maps I found along the way so I use them and end up with antiquity leads which I have to do before they expire and by the time I've cleared all of that lot (bearing in mind I only play an hour or two a day), throw in some events I do for tickets and the crafting surveys and master writs start building up again.

The last few days I've been deliberately skipping the crafting dailies to break the cycle and give myself more time for stuff I want to do instead of what's basically virtual chores and I think that's helping.

But as far as the game itself is concerned I'm happy with it. It's not my favourite game or even my favourite TES game, and there are some issues which could be sorted out but nothing which is a big concern for me.
If you choose yes it means you are a casual because you can’t say yes if you are a veteran

What if you're a casual player and a veteran player? I've been playing ESO since 2014 with no long breaks, I've got all the chapters and story DLC but I'm very definitely a casual player, I focus mainly on questing and exploration (which is why I don't buy dungeon DLC) and I've 'only' got 2 level 50 characters (and somewhere between 300 and 400 CP) plus 5 who are below level 50 because I don't play them enough.

Basically the only thing that keeps me in ESO is housing.

The world is beautiful, especially when ZOS has had to come up something new like Elsweyr that hasn't been done fully in a TES game so they have to think outside of the box.

Combat and class design is awful - every class plays virtually the same, just change the skill name and effect. Lay your ground aoe, light attack cancel and your spammable. After 5 years I'm so bored of their generic design.

Year of Skyrim and vampires kind of pulls me off. I've played more than enough Skyrim/Dawnguard.
The antiquities skill-lines don't really add gameplay, IMO it's just kind of minesweeper minigame that does not belong here.
I expect more fantasy in a fantasy world (think Morrowind, giant mushrooms, weird creatures, etc.).

    1. Are you happy with the direction ESO is heading?

    No.

    1) I spent lot of time and mental health grinding vMA for weapons. vDSA also took some time and some health, but it was faster cause we could trade weapons with group members. In Greymoor, every newbie can earn same weapons without any effort on normal arenas, and I suddenly have lot of "normal" weapons (while I earned them all on vet long time ago). There just can't be any more disrespect to old players than this :|

    2) The fact that developers even think about possibility to implement AoE cooldowns/cost increase, is very sad. I hate cooldowns. For example, I play GW2 mostly to fly on Griffons, because their combat (with cooldowns on almost everything) is simply not fun. If we'll get cooldowns in ESO, they would have to add cool flying mounts to compensate for the loss of fast combat.

    3) My characters didn't become stronger since Murkmire (when developers stopped increasing CP cap every 3 months). There is no feeling of progress :/

    2. What makes you have the urge to login ESO and play?

Crafting writs; collecting skyshards on alts; mounts and cosmetics; some PvP/battlegrounds; I still haven't finished Greymoor's quests (it's actually hilarious, cause I pre-ordered Greymoor simply to do the quests ASAP...) :D

    1) No. I'd say more, but it's just not worth it imo.

    2) Friends, although they're hunting for a replacement MMO. Aside from writs, I've logged more hours into other MMOs that I've been at endgame for literal years now and I can still find more to do than I can in ESO. I'm sure new players will have something to do, but for a lot of us who've been playing for years there's just not a lot out there.

    3) Crafting writs, mount training, the login daily, and then I log out and play something else. Maybe one day the game'll be fun again, but this year just isn't that year and it's a shame since I was digging the vampire theme until vampires got staked.

I've never got to understand all the rage.

    1. Was the stuff you already had taken away from you? No.
    2. Is it disrespect to my grandma, who had to endure long queues in banks or ride to the other side of the city to buy specific thing, the fact that I can do almost everything online in 5 minutes and get stuff delivered to my doorstep from the other side of the world? Also no.
    3. Do you still have achievements and all the bragging fluff from completing vet? Yes.

If tomorrow they will give us a dungeon gear vendor and you'll be ably to buy stuff you want, or add new food that will let you get Master Angler in a couple of days, I'll be fine with it. Content should be played because it's fun and challenging, not because some stubborn trinket won't drop.

But all that, of course, is only my humble opinion.

    1. Are you happy with the direction ESO is heading?
    No, I'm not.

Every time I see the patch notes, I cringe. Issues broken for years remain broken. Developers making changes they don't understand, constantly telling us "we'll wait and see", before reverting it back, or worse, keeping it because "it's not a priority" to fix.

Seeing in-game players using things only available in the Crown Crate system gives me no hope things will ever get better.

What makes you have the urge to login ESO and play?
The art team, in my opinion, deserves the lion's share of all the revenue this game earns for it's their work I get any urge to log in.
    Clockwork City at night.

Storms coming in at night while on Khennarthi's Roost sitting at the bar. Beautiful.

The beauty of Summerset and Elsweyr, which still has me upset there is no player house in The Stitches.
What turns you off and not wanting to login ESO?
The banner message when I log in. I can't count the number of times this banner message has pissed me off to close out the game and find something else to play. I hate this thing with a passion because all it does is take away from the game to remind me it's always about the money. Always.

Worse, it showcases overpriced garbage in a store which has little value to me as a player, especially the Crown Crates.

I'm not opposed to a company making money, but charging people $50 for a fake book is just beyond the definition of greed. It's repulsive, and I'd love to know how ZOS employees look at themselves in the mirror every morning and defend this crap.

I sub to the game because that, to me, is more than sufficient to support the game. I've bought a couple of things in the Crown Store because I felt the value was applicable. I'm getting far, far more value of buying a lion mount than I am a fake book, that's for sure.

Yet here we are, in 2020, with a broken game and people spending like there's no reason to save their money for something that's actually useful instead of random chances for a gnat who's butt lights up.

I love the way ESO evolves in terms of the lore, art and sound.
I hate the fact ZOS keep hiding lore behind group daungeons
I hate the changes to skills and sets. It is very hard for me adjust. It takes me long and... once I'm good ZOS ruin everything again.

    2. What makes you have the urge to login ESO and play?

    The lore.

    3. What turns you off and not wanting to login ESO?

The combat. I can't solo many things. Group dungeons. IC sewers. IC bosses. I'm playing since 2016. I tried idfferent classe, I used popular builds, I practiced rotation. No matter how hard I try, it's all useless. Find some friends? Oh, please, don't event mention it. It is impossible to enjoy playing even with my spouse. The guildmates are always busy doing things of their own, or they want a quick run. I tried to start a guild and find people like me. People came and... again, were busy with treir own goals. MMO is a crap. I wish we had a single-player version of ESO. And please, don't advise me to play Skyrim. I play ESO for LORE, not for hitting buttons. There's no ESO lore in TES Skyrim.

I'm mostly happy with ESO and the amount of content that is being provided. My only two complaints are:

    1) Game Performance Issues, which they appear to be trying to solve; and

    2) The combat system which is basically button-mashing and which is balanced solely around those players who can button-mash the fastest and execute block/bash/animation cancelling, which puts a lot of content out of the hands of the average player.

*Not worthy new contents, all of them are copy paste and boring.
*No new Classes no new Weapons.
*There is no balance, and changed game play style every 3 months. And changes back and forth and come to same place at the end. They dont know what they are doing
*6 years old game But still they make experiments for a solutions they still dont know how to fix or improve game combat and balance
*No end game development for PVE
*No new content for PVP or no fixes or improvements
