The grind *is* still horrendous, even with the pathetic drops regular nodes offer. I can have 1000 grains and maybe, maybe get one green plate, and 50% of a blue, screw purple because SCREW PURPLE, and maybe 2 chromium.
Out of 1000 grains! My goodness, the returns are atrocious.

I refined nearly 45,000 platinum dust the other day
Here are the drop rates - with the percentages
NOTICE THEY ARE IDENTICAL TO THE ACCEPTED VALUES FOR ALL THE OTHER CRAFTS!!!!shocking!!!
For a craft you need 1/3 as many of (3 pieces versus 9-11 for the others) and 1/2 as many to upgrade (4 platings vs 8 for the others)
So you need 72-88 of the others... and 120 of jewelry to upgrade a full set....
That like 30-40% more... not this absurd, insane, ridiculous amount more than the others, [snip].

Ohh okay so I can stop reading your post here as it clear you’re not arguing in good faith. All gold mats drop near the same rates but Jewelry upgrade mats drop as grain that you need 10 of to make one plate you need ten grains.
Four plates are needed to get to gold 100% well those 4 plates are from 40 grains that would be like 40 dreur wax or tempering alloy And that’s for just one ring or necklace which yes is 120 but that’s 120 gold mats for just three items that’s madness.
You should be able to upgrade all your characters yourself this grind plus trans stone grind is too much and yes you have to do both. Sets that are bound on pickup or that are only tradeable to team members for a small window forces your hand. New traits don’t drop in over world jewelry AND over world doesn’t drop in gold so if you want gold infused you have mad grind for gold or buy them at very high prices.
Now using your very own number which breaks down to 1:200 for gold okay that’s 8,000 dust to refine gold out one item now if EVERY SINGLE NODE dropped 6 dust each that’s still 1,334 nodes you need to harvest to make just one item gold.
To gold out 3 items you need to harvest 24,000 dust which is 4,000 nodes once again is only if they all drop 6. That’s not reasonable.
Add all of that to fact that most sets don’t drop in new traits and you are now forced to transmute for the trait you want cause it will never drop. You can’t breakup the two to help your argument as there is no way to “earn” a gold infused ring of Swamp Raider. Now whether you would use it or not is not a valid point you have to transmute and upgrade it to gold and that’s not right.
If the system is to the way it is we need a way to work for gold jewelry from ALL sets. That’s 369 sets in all by my count.
369 total sets
32 trial sets
55 PvP sets
59 craftable sets
So about 24% of the sets in game can be dropped in gold including crafted sets and 28% of sets excluding crafted sets. That just leaves the golden as the sole source for 223 sets to have gold jewelry and the golden only drops 4 sets at a time and only rings OR necklace so every set will have to land twice to get the necklace and rings that’s 56 rounds just for rings or necklaces that’s 112 visits in total and 1 visit... per week. That’s 1 year and a month for for the first part and wait for it 2 years and 2 months for both.

That’s where it feels like bad faith trial sets are great but they are all bind-on-pickup so you simply can’t sell the drops themselves which would be an awesome source of gold to buy the mats you need.
My point about drops in gold is if the system stays as is how do you get sets that don’t come from the leaderboards of PvP and PvE in gold. ZoS clearly sees that the golden and leaderboards were not enough otherwise they wouldn’t have added jewelry crafting but the way it is now if you want to gold out your character you have to make an investment in both time and gold FAR beyond would you would need to do to gold out six characters armor and weapons sitting at over 1,000,000 gold to gold out one character you can get a whole bunch of alts suited and booted with gold armor and weapons.
To me a player with 18 crafters that’s beyond excessive.
I this very week got two Sword-Singer rings for 80k each. One gold plate sells for 95k how is it that the item in gold sells for less then the upgrade materials. It would have cost 380,000 gold to make just one of those rings gold from purple that’s broken and backwards. Nothing else in works like that.
All other systems from crafting takes mats and make them greater then the sum of their parts. It would take a sound and well rounded argument to change my mind on that it’s cheaper to buy jewelry in gold then to make it yourself cheaper by a factor of 3.

You can't get the overland sets (for gear and weapons) in gold from any source. period.
If that's your stance, that they should be able to be gotten, that's an entirely different argument, and I find it insulting that you're taking my point on one small aspect, applying it to a much, much larger one, and saying I'm being disingenuous.
