Indrik has run its course

by 2 years we can build our indrik with the event ticket system. Yellow indrik, green indrik, blue indrik, white indrik, black indrik, transparent indrik, glowing indrik, white glowing indrik, reflective blue indrik, indrikindrikindrikindrik.

I think it's time to have a new mount to evolve, maybe a senche, a lion, or a gryphoon

I would agree, I am more than a little bored with the indrik .......

Problem is every event I earn the tickets and pick up the mount cause ..... why not ..... ZOS will be reading my activity data and hailing the indrik a success as I am someone who "completed" the activity and that is an interpretation of my activity data but it does not reflect how I feel about it so it is not painting a proper picture.

they will continue to pump out indrik for as long as their data shows that people still buy the berries... its simply much easier for them to reskin an indrik then come up with something new... especially since Indrik arent sold in the crown store and dont generate direct revenues...

Which I think would be a sort of misleading metric because some people are buying event things simply because there's nothing else to buy with their tickets and they don't want to waste them.

I think Indriks have become a safe choice for ZOS. If they branch out and try a different type of mount or product, they are basically having to start all over again taking a risk that people might like it even less than Indriks.
If they put two options in the event store to test, then collectors will complain they don't have enough tickets to buy both.

Never bought a feather or berry. Indrik is not cool enough and a re-skin doesn't change that. So effectively, event tickets have been uninteresting to me for years. Looks like a bad strategy to me.

They should have stopped it at the 4th, and then give us a new type of mount to evolve to keep interesting... this is just lazy design. I got the first four because of the 'gotta catch em all' mentality, but that wore off. It's a pretty long process with the tickets, feathers, berries just for a meh reskin.

but they are still doing it and still engaging

if you want something to disappear - stop using it and engaging with it

mounts is something wow does a lot better then eso in every aspect

more mount variety...more sizes, different type of mounts etc... yes realistc but different

for example i'd love a mammoth mount (age of conan had one which was awesome) but this would require a different size/model, more work etc...

So maybe enough people are "engaging" with it, just not people on the forums.
Also ZOS may have locked themselves out of a lot of mount opportunities with the Crown Store / Crown Gems store / Crown Crates. All those models are basically unavailable because if they gave out event mounts using a reskin that turned out to be cooler, people who spent money getting mounts would be upset or people who were thinking of spending money might no longer do so and opt for the "free" event mount instead. For a long time now it's been too easy to get enough tickets to collect event mounts so it's virtually "free" if you just show up in the game.

I was bored by the time the third indrik was available.
Having mounts changing the gameplay experience through various individual behaviors would be nice. Only having a different model is ok, but it also gets uninteresting after a while. But just a different color gets boring extremely fast.

I actually like it exactly for this :D I buy style pages which I like. If there are no style pages I like, I can skip events completely :)

Yes, there was recently another popular thread on exactly the same topic.

Initially, the Indirik mini game/farm was fun and it made sense with the release of Summerset. But that was eons ago now and were still getting Summerset Indirik mounts at every event, at best its lazy, but it seems they clearly did not think matters through.

What should have happened is that with the release of each dlc/chapter, the minigame/farm was updated to provide a new mount related to the new release. That, or they should not have linked it with Summerset at all, and the mini game/farm should have stood outside this and encompassed different mount types from the start.

Long, long, looooooong overdue updating this Zos. Im pretty sure most folk are totally over Indiriks.

The RGB color model can generate 16.7 million colors. Multiply that by indriks that use various combinations of two, three, even four base colors, and the possibilities are practically limitless. I can see differently colored indriks easily being featured in ESO events for the next several thousand years.

So please stop complaining about indriks becoming boring, when we haven’t even begun to scratch the surface of subtly differently colored variants possible.

Indriks stopped be fun, interesting or special with the release of Elsweyr. They were/are Summerset mounts in my eyes, and the best continuation of this event ticket concept would have been to have a different base mount to 'evolve' specific to each annual chapter period.

Except that there's the conventional wisdom that says when 1 person complains, they actually represent 10 people who agree but don't even bother to complain. Those people just vote with their dollars and leave. Maybe they're worried about that.

At the same time, are people who actually do like indriks giving ZOS enough feedback somehow? Or do they have enough "meh" that ZOS can change things up and not lose too much revenue/customer engagement?
Does ZOS even care to find out? Does ZOS have focus groups before they release new content?

Pretty sure ZOS does watch some numbers somewhere somehow. The relevance of those numbers, though is debatable.

For example I seem to recall there was a transcribed Rich Lambert interview where he was asked about forced solo BG queuing and he said something about the numbers not really dipping after the change. Which implies that those numbers are being used for guidance -- but those numbers wouldn't necessarily tell you if people are disgruntled and queuing because they have no choice. And if ZOS is willing to let that attitude continue or hope it changes, that's kind of an interesting decision.

Honestly, I don't really care about the indriks, but a lot of this seems to be complaining about free things.

Indriks have been our 'event' mounts since Witches Festival 2018. It makes sense to have some flashy thing from the Impresario since it's supposed to be the event stuff anyway. It gave them a way to build things with parts so you had to participate in several events over the year, and it made sense to have some Pokémon thing that you can evolve since trying to build a welwa out of bloody parts doesn't have the same mystical aura as this does.

Besides - look at how much an Indrik really costs: 10 tickets per feather for the Nascent, then another 10 per berry for the event one, so it's 80 tickets total to get the indrik color of the time. Can you imagine if they asked us to spend 80 tickets for another mount? People would flip.

Now they have changed the Impresario around since people complained about the indriks. We're getting more outfit styles from her than we did before. Again, there it's 5 tickets per style if you don't get lucky enough to find them as drops.

So this new event: two berries for 10 each, not including the four feathers for 10 each if you haven't gotten a Nascent. Plus 7 style pages (or 8 since there's robe and jerkin) for 5 each... and we're only getting 3 per day for 13 days (if you can manage to get the first and last days), so 39. And that's not counting the furniture. We literally can't get everything.

"OMG THEY'RE PUSHING US TO BUY TICKETS FROM THE CROWN STORE!!!11!1!"

No, they're just asking you to decide. If you don't want the indrik because you have indrik fatigue, then that saves you 20 tickets (or 60 if you don't even want another Nascent). If you don't want indriks, you have style pages or furniture you can get instead. If you want everything, then you need to open your wallet. Haven't people also been asking for the Impresario to have more stock? Now she does, and now people complain that they can't buy her out without going to the crown store.

I know welwas are the big thing people keep asking for, but this also goes all the way back to things like the monkey and tiger pets. People are always posting asking about how to get the monkey or tiger, and immediately get shouted down that they're from the beta/early subscriber events so newbies are not worthy. Now the only monkey you can get is a fancy monkey with a vest, but a lot of people want to keep things a bit grounded. If they put up a basic welwa with no bells or whistles as an event reward, then people who missed the event would not be able to get it and then we'd be inundated with more of those type complaints.

It makes much more sense to put a basic Welwa in the Crown store proper, and then you can deal with fancy versions for events. And I don't think that putting a 'boring' indrik in the store is going to prevent people from doing events - MYM was really populated despite how everyone complains about PvP, and I know half of my guild is champing at the bit for Summerset...and none of them have 'oh boy indrik!' as a reason.

I'm sure they could easily have made other mount types, but I can't think of an Elsweyr mount that would make sense evolving like that. Skyrim? Maybe evolving Blackreach fungus into mounts, but that's already taken care of in the Gloomspore crates. Death Hounds? Also a crate mount. I guess if you wanted to give them different skin colors or particle effects, but then you run into the same problem of 'it's just a palette swap!'

Now I only have one indrik and that's since we got so many tickets during the New Life event that I could build an entire snow indrik. I have a nascent and four feathers in reserve, but I haven't found a color set I like. Now that we got the Jephrine Paladin, it looks best with the Dawnwood, but I don't have that one. I kinds like the Moss one, so I guess for once I'll actually try to get it.

And as a sidenote: I find it interesting that the excuse people use is 'Indriks are a Summerset thing' then play up Welwas and Echateres when Welwas and Echateres are from Orsinium, not Western Skyrim. Indryks started after Summerset was released, and Summerset was not set up as the start of a big story, but the end of one. Besides, we didn't get the first flashy version until MYM 2019, which was when they were already starting to hype Elsweyr. Also complaining about a Summerset thing for once having a Summerset event to go with it.
