For those of you who don't know, Ri'Atahrashi (Ri'Atahrashi's Training Grounds) is a world boss in Southern Elsweyr that everyone probably hates because you can wipe on him even with 5+ people if you do something wrong :p

Yesterday I finally managed to figure his mechanics out (unfortunately I never got a chance to do that til Greymoor because it'd always be mercilessly zerged by 10+ people, so the only thing I figured at that point was something could trigger his students ads to do infinite number of high damage attacks +CC within like 0.4 seconds), and I wanted to say I really appreciate the work put behind this. Once you're high into CP, have decent gear a rotation with some selfheals going, you can easily solo most WB while standing in their face pretty much. Sure, there're some exceptions, but for the most part it's same old don't stand in red, kill ads, interrupt interruptable skills, burn shield, etc. But such is not the case with Ri. It took me and a friend a couple hours yesterday to fully get it down and let me tell you, that was fun! Sincere thank you to whoever thought of that, and can we pelase have a few more like it?:) Not with this exact mechanic but with mechanics that you need to figure out and that can cause a wipe even for multiple people when not followed.

For those of you wondering, mechs are as follows:
1) Ri's students will enter a fire circle phase once they drop down to 50%. When in this phase, ANY damage (this includes direct damage, AoE and DoTs, even such as Burning) done to mobs inside the circle (this doesn't have to be damage to the student doing the fire circle. Damage to another student that's not <50% hp yet but just happened to walk into that circle will work just as well) will trigger their Fire Hands (or whatever it's called) attack which is multiple attacks+CC in a rapid succession, the damage of the attacks scaling off the damage done inside the circle, so, for instance, Burning likely won't cause them to kill you but something like Meteor DoT might. They're also shielded during this stage so don't hope to kill them quickly before they kill you.

2) CC'ing a student during the fire circle phase will stop it. We used my templar friend's javelin but I'm sure any other CC would work just as well. I've found this to be the key to easy fight - get an student to 50, CC it asap, kill it.

3) Students will eventually time out on fire circle so you could also get it to 50->stop attacking->wait->kill it, but this is problematic because, as mentioned before, other students or boss can go inside the circle and hence trigger it as well, so you'd have to be very careful. It can also be hard to avoid all and any DoTs being left on the student as they're dropping to 50. Also, once dropped below 50, students will keep doing the fire circle every once in a while so you'd better make sure you kill them once they're done with their first one.

4) If you kill students, they will respawn, but this will only happen once you kill all of them. Which means you can happily kill 3/4, have 1 up and just focus the boss (preferably with strcitly single target attacks 'cuz you don't want that student being caught in that and dying or going fire circle).

    Congrats on the duo clear.

It's soloable once you know the mechanics. It just took me forever to figure them out XD

As a sorc I can just cheese it out by starting the fight with Negate, nuking 3/4 ads and then it's just easy boring single-targetting boss down. Still, I wanted to find a less cheesy way to do it and seems cc-ing the ads once they go fire circle should do it.

I imagine if you're tanky or can roll dodge a lot you could allow yourself to just ignore ads completely and single target boss down but I'm a squishy magicka dps.

I love how insane that boss is. It's cool you found a strategy. We need more bosses like that. They are like a super deadly puzzle.

Mechanics of "flame circle protecting allies and reverting damage done to everyone inside the circle" can also be learned by simply fighting overland New Moon Cultists mobs (when they have Flame Adept in their group) :)
When Elsweyr was released, I did that boss once and had no idea what was going on. Then I did quests and met many Flame Adept mobs - they safely allowed all the experiments with this mechanic :D

LOL. It's funny that I didn't know that. That's the issue of too easy overland... with my 810 CP and stuff, unfortunately all quest mobs die within 1.5 seconds without getting a chance to reveal any of their mechanics :/
(It's a legit regret, I'm not trying to show off or something. I'm very far from top tier dps, by end game standards I'm barely average. I should probably take my gear off or something for questing but I can't quite bring myself to, that just so doesn't feel right.)
