Why no special effects (glowing) on weapons while sheathed?

You already have it implemented in the game on some NPCs as shown below. This would be a very cool feature and I would spend more on crown store to have my weapons show special effects while sheathed. kU4pciq.jpg

I'd love to be able to have the glow effect from different weapon sets on any weapon we want, like having the glow from Maw of Lorkhaj weapons on my Olorime staffs.

If this was to be implemented I would want it to be a toggle. There's plenty of weapons I have where I wouldn't want to see their glows while sheathed.

I would love to have many separate effects which could be applied to any weapons, and of course an option to have glowing weapons all the time :)

This would only look good on staves probably. I wouldn't want a flaming sword strapped on my back.

A toggle in general would be the best solution. Then we could turn it off at outfit stations.

yeah there is floating sky fortresses, morfing into vampires and werewolfs, mounts made of stone, but THIS is the hill you wanna die on. lmao. If you don't want a weapon with effects just don't use one. simple as that.

Up for permanent glowing visual effects on weapons !

I totally agree for unsheated/sheated weapon with option toggled on !

Need same for armor as well

Lol, no, I hope not! Characters can already make themselves explosions of effects and colors. I’d rather have the ability to turn off certain visual effects like those orbs and the Darloc Brae sparkle is not only obnoxious but makes no sense on a set that’s supposed to make you less noticeable while sneaking! Oh well, at least there are lots of better unobtrusive sets now!

I assume NPCs don't have a real 'sheathed'/'unsheathed' state, just a different pose. So if it's going to glow, it glows all the time.

The weird thing is that even normal frost staves etc. can glow for the npc companions when there's nothing special about the item. It's just serving as a visual cue to what's equipped in their hand.

There comes a point that performance outweighs all... and you just want all that fluff turned off. Same goes for spell effects for that matter, no idea while there aren't toggles. ;)

If I recall correctly this was implmented for all of 1 patch and then it got removed due to the overwhelming amount of complaints about it combined with a few visual issues.

It should have been a thing for monster pack weapons or at least for staves. It’s a shame that while costing 2500 crowns they only glow in attack position.

Tbh One of many reason why I like ESO is that everything looks um... normal. A sword, looks like a sword. A Shield, looks like a shield. A Mount - looks like a mount.

"Additional Auras of glowing™ ®" Are totally optional and are not the main course of the game. You want glowing mount ? Sure, you can get one. You want a regular looking one ? Sure you can get one too.

All other MMOS have so many flashing effects that it is mind boggling. ESO managed to make stuff look awesome & badass just by making stuff look normal.

As for glowing staffs on NPCs & Mobs - I think it is there as a part of visual cue. Because there is no way to tell if some one is using a flame staff or frost staff or lighting staff. Also it is very important to note that in the past, different dmg types mattered a lot more than now (Flame Atronach used to to take very little damage from flame staff & they took more damage from frost staff etc).

But I would not mind something like this being added - as long as we will have a "toggle" option, to turn it on/off.
