Rock Clearing Chain Reactions

How do I do this? I can't seem to do anything on the fissure with the trowel at 2/2 other than exactly what it did at 1/2? Is this also a bug getting fixed in the next patch?

In order to get a fissure chain reaction you need to have two or more fissures connect via even ground. When you do you'll get a blue highlight of the path.

When you use the trowel at 2/2 it digs deeper. On easy puzzles you wont notice but for deeper digs you will.
Don't forget if you blow up the antiquity you fail the dig.

In order to remove a fissure you need the trowel to clear the pit, on some digs it won't reach the bottom even with 2/2.

You can brush the very top pale/tan layers of a dig fissure, but don't brush the bottom.

OH needs to be 2+ fissures connected, I didn't get that from the description.

FWIW, I was puzzling over this too, couldn't figure out why I couldn't connect fissures. I was sure I had trowel #2. But it turns out I was still at #1. I don't know why I was so sure it had been upgraded, I must have misread something. So if you're having trouble, be sure (duh) your trowel has been buffed.

I'm still a bit confused about how to connect them sometimes, but I've managed a few nice chain reactions. Blowing things up is fun!

Try using the brush to make the ground between the Fissures the same level, then do the chain reaction thing.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing, but sometimes it only digs the fissure and doesn't make a chain reaction.

But knowing that I can brush the tan layers off of fissures is super helpful.

if i doesn't highlight connected area with bluish squares, something is missing. you may have uneven layer somewhere. also - it ONLY blows them up as connected, when you have 4 ticks of energy filled in and available.

Ya dont need 4 ticks of energy. WHAT you need is that the dig reaches the ground on that use, so 2 ticks for 3 layers and 4 ticks dig up to 6 layers deep.

It NEVER blows up if it is more then 6 layers, cause you cant reach the ground on that even with 4 energy.
Which is however rarely a problem, cause to make an even ground between fissures you usually need to lower it to 6 or less layers.

My favourite way of completing digs :)

Another relevant point is once your character is max level in Antiquities ALL digs even green ones have fissures :)

heh... because I always just do two things. make sure my layers are even and make sure i have 4 ticks. so far it worked for me every single time. even on shallower digs, if I didn't get it to 4 and even with ground even, it wouldn't highlight until I'd get it to 4. bug? feature? who the heck even knows anymore.
