Is it ok to introduce cp170 gear?

Will it be ok to introduce 170cp gear, that is above gear cap, leaving gear cap at 160, essentially powering up everyone willing to farm the new gear.

Edit: Also, if there are any people that voted no but also were against updating vMA staves to their new version, please explain what's the difference.

Edit 2:

Depends how they do it. It can be either yes or no.

Obviously the bonus will be around a difference of 0.5% in stats, and most importantly, all gear will not be updated.

Edit 3:
Vote guys vote. This poll might be what decides if we need to refarm all our gear when CP is reworked

One reason why I play this game is for its horizontal progression. It has enough grind as is for me.

If the weapons have taught us anything, it's not to trust zos. End-game players will have to refarm all their gear + materials to gold it out. It's not worth doing.

No, simply because of the ESO gear leveling formula - it's not the gear gets stronger with level, it just becomes weaker as you outlevel it. So, proposal is effectively to raise -player- level to CP170, so current CP160 gear will get similar stats as CP150 gear to CP160 player. So, it won't be a new level of power for players. It will be just "nerf, then regrind to return to what it was before".

Might as well go to CP 200. Why stop at a dumb number like 170? The question is how to make it happen. It would require people refarming a TONNE of gear, reworking pretty much every crafting skill's progression, and balancing content for the power creep among other things.

If you read the suggestion you would see that It was leaving gear cap at 160, essentially getting "perfected" gear that is just better of CP 170

Why so we can all re farm/buy the exact same sets, no thank you, be the fastest way to get me to quit the game doubt I would be the only one if they did something that idiotic at this point.

I have farmed bought a large variety of sets, golded out quite a few of them/re traited a lot of stuff got no desire to see that all become useless.

Having the gear capped at CP160 is one of the selling points that got me to buy this game in the first place.

Anyone who made it past 160,and has a full build for either pvp or pve would straight up quit.
That being said, after being able to play for a bit,and seeing the quality of this chapter,I wouldnt be surprised if that was next.
This whole chapter has been twice as disappointing as back when I realised Thieves Guild Skill Line had no active abilities, back when that was released. oof.

I got that, We have perfected weapons currently in game. You start doing this now after 4 years it gains pace rapidly before you know it we are WoW waiting for a new season and patch for higher tier gear. 160 gear and craft-able being so viable is what made ESO great imo.

The game is balanced at 160. Increasing it would be nothing but a power creep and serve little purpose beyond that.

Why not cp 500 gear instead. And only have it for craftable gear. Have it cost double the mats than cp160 to make. Honestly it's not something high on my list. Something to discuss about though

Why not gear 810 CP ??? because there is majority of CP810 players and the game system does not allow you to be better than others for more than let say 5-10%... More system stability and less bugs should be the next scope for at least 6 months, just let us play without massive changes...

Let's get cp170 gear or whatever they are doing with CPs now. Since we have to re-farm our old sets constantly depending on which way the combat team decides nerfs, I don't see a problem. Say you farm gear today with Greymoor launch, you will have to farm again after the inevitable balancing patch. Might as well be done with increased item levels so it's okay to decon and get some of our materials back.

The day ZOS expect me to regrind all my sets with perfect traits, golded out, will be the day I legitimately quit. After five years, it's too late for that now.

No to the nuh no. Although I would gladly trade all my CP160 gear in for a game with smooth performance and working guild tools at this point. It's useless anyways with all the bugs, crashes and desyncs.

There is ZEERO benefit to this, i really dont understand these topics

There is no benefit to anyone you regrind everything to end up where you already are for what???

if you want to grind and do dungeons just do them - your primary drive should be fun, you dont need a reason for it - if you need to look for one, maybe its time to move to something else

I've got way too many sets to bother with re-grinding them.

If they ever did this it would be GG for me forever from ESO.

They kinda did with perfected maelstrom and master without upgrading them (not really an upgrade since it was the same means of acquisition...).

Most people cry because they might have to farm new gear( completely optional) but they farm it anyway with your quarterly nerfdates anyway so its kind of a stupid argument.

I've played WoW and SWTOR, I hate when all your gear becomes obsolete after an expansion. If it's one thing that I ESO does right, it's how they currently treat the max level of gear. By not increasing it.

How about some new sets that are actually useful or at least useful for specific classes?
Literally every set from the new trail is useless for PVE, I dont understand why anyone would want to farm old content again...

I don't know who these willing individuals are, but I'm definitely not one of them. Especially if we are talking about upgrading multiple jewellery sets, again.

If they would go to such length of troubles of having the CP cap upped for just a few figures, I reckon they should just remodel the thing to something totally new instead. And of course we cannot forget the mischief that "V16-CP160" has wrought.

Also this gear mechanic is unique to ESO and will affect many things. Gathering, selling, monopoly, blah, blah, blah.
Rectitude carried to excess hardens into stiffness; benevolence indulged beyond measure sinks into weakness.

@zvavi , frankly, I see no point. Would've been an equivalent of vMA gear changes, just worse, because it means power creep across the board, but without release of new content. "If you replay this game again, you get a bit more points" - business model of online clicker games, stupid and repetitive. Yeah, it works there. No, I don't want to be involved in it. :)
