Was looking to refine all my mats before the free eso plus ended and yep of course this happens and they won't extend it fun.......

I completed all actions with the materials about 9 hours ago. Because in all the years I've been playing TESO, I've learned one thing about the server: nothing changes. Every time the developers promise to fix the situation, optimize, rework, improve, blah-blah-blah, but this does not give at least some tangible result on the stability of the game. In this case, TESO even somewhat resembles an online indie game: it does not have a reserve of stability in terms of the number of players and the load on the server.

Ya I usually don't wait but I passed out and have been sick the past few days lol

ZOS is claiming that "some players are having login issues"?

Can anyone validate not having login issues? It is honestly quite problematic characterizing the issue for "some players" if every server even on console seems down?

Lol the level of nonsense white knighting in here, like its a fresh game instead of a game that - at some point - should be able to have a seamless patching/updating process after this many years. If I made this many mistakes on a weekly/biweekly basis I would have been sued/fired/thrown in jail within the first year - never mind 6 years in.

There is most likely one central location (i.e. server) that your username/password are verified. No one can get past the verification process, but people are still in the game playing if they haven't logged out yet.

When I tried to log in earlier before checking forums, I about freaked out cause it kept telling me my I couldn't log in cause my password was incorrect or inactive. Tried on website too and couldn't. Then I read this. Like dang ZOS, you about gave me a heart attack. Now when you try to log in it says servers are down.

I wonder what the problem could be though?

Can't blame you for not reading the whole thread chronologically, but it's not just that since console can't login either, and on top of that you can't log in from their website.

I think they just did not care to remove the maintenance notice since you can't login either way.

It is a verification issue.
I just tried to log in and I'm getting account username/password wrong, not server maintenance.
Also, login to Bethseda (ESO) account is not working on the web page, and that is not run on the game server.
Donny Vito is right.
Hmm.. you have a linux nick, one would expect more insights how web-hosting and server works :P

This is why when I get anything but the usual 200 or 304 error, or get those over a good ten minutes, I always check the forum and reddit before freaking these days.

Bought the game back in 2014. Left it and then came back recently to play it seriously cos of all the new content. Kinda surprised that this type of problem still exists. This is not a new mmo.
