I noticed a couple of typos on the excavation screen. Hopefully the screenshots are good enough.

The starter quest has an issue where when you are told by gabriella to go outside and dig but there is no mound there. I could only fix this if i scried right next to the door gabriella goes through and beat her before she goes outside.

    - If you die and respawn in place via soul gem while in a dig zone, as a "ghost" you can use the Antiquarian Eye tool to point toward the mound an unlimited number of times with no cooldown until you come back to life. (I had jumped off a cliff in Artaeum to reach the dig zone on the beach faster, and I had the tool quickslotted so I used it that way.) d7jl1aww2j1i.bmp

    - I also noticed a few text errors on the dig results screen like Malkorga posted. In general the last word of an item would not be capitalized and it would have ^p or ^n on the end (for example, "Ruby Ash bow^n", "Rubedo Leather guards^p", "Ancestor Silk epaulets^p", "Rubedite helm^n").

    - Typo for Ugron's codex entry for the Apraxic Decanter (Summerset): "use it in their scred chalices"

    - Typos in codex entries for Faded Psijic Folio (Artaeum): In Verita's: "See those glypsh?" In Amalien's: "I onlt wonder how"

    - On dig screen, it says at the top of the screen that I'm digging for the Nord Scrimshaw Pendant even when I'm digging for other items. (Note the image under the next bullet point; I unearthed something completely different than what's listed at the top.) Might only show the first one you do per session since I think yesterday it was saying I was digging for Gabrielle's bottle when I was actually digging for the scrimshaw.

    - Even though the small-size antiquities appear to be oriented vertically, sometimes I have to unearth horizontal cells to actually dig it up. Note where the blue sparkles are in this image, on the bottom and to the right of the object.
    iqibg9wm0tqp.bmp
Here's another, where I've cleared all the space around it and it's still not marked as completed, presumably since it's horizontally off the diggable grid.

I have reported these in-game as well, but to get the bugs seen more!

    1. I had the same issue as the last one Alarra had, where my relic was out of the bottom of the grid (Ruby Dragon Skull if that matters) which was frustrating.
    2. The health bar of the relic gets stuck on a previous relic. I will be excavating one relic and it will have the name and quality of one I had previously excavated.
    3. The Shovel has a tooltip on mouseover BEFORE the skill is unlocked, which was a bit confusing.
    4. And as others have mentioned, the tutorial dirt mound didn't spawn and I had to relog, which reset the Scry. But the entire tutorial really needs work as it really didn't give me the information I needed when I needed it and I missed an entire feature until a friend told me (the use Eye from quickslot while at digsite to get an arrow)

Based on 4 hours of testing , here goes... @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

    1. Finding the quest was easy enough, however if that handbill is posted at a much prominent location such as near to the main entrance of Solitude or the way shrine, it'd be much easier to find it.
    2. Quest was easy enough to do, however 2 issues.
    a. The 2nd part of quest where you are asked to scry, there is no whatsoever explanation on how to do it. Took me almsot 15 minutes to figure out the new tab in Journal section and then to find the correct tab. Tutorial needs to be more explanatory.
    b. The bug with the dig site as mentioned above by others. Had to restart quest 3 times before it showed up for me.
    3. Finding the dig location for other antiquities was easy enough and locating the dig site was not hard. However there is no explanation if the Eye momento can be used to locate the dig site. Also the momento isnt doing a very good job pointing player to dig location. would be better if it was something similar to psijic quests.
    4. My biggest problems was codex. Although i did discover codex after finishing dig locations, i'm still not clear if that came from bonus loot or just randomly. Also after going through patch notes, and help section in game for codex, i'm still not clear what exactly it does. Would be nice if some developer jumps in and explains in detail what it is for and how it effects the overall antiquity system, then maybe we can test it better.
    5. On a test max lvl character, even though my skill was maxed out already for scrying and excavation with skill points invested in all of them, i could not use the big/med shovel.
    6. Finding Leads is still not clear. As mentioned in PTS notes, it could drop anywhere seems too random. Not everyone does everything that means a lot of players will be missing on these leads. There needs to be some sort of indication as if doing a certain content of game such as pvp, world boss, dolmens etc, where and if these leads can drop. Just saying it can drop anywhere makes it so random that it almost makes one not even look for them.
    7. Last but not least, as mentioned in point 5, on a max lvl test character with skill level up to max, couldn't use the extra features for digging, but could use them in scrying. However, even green level puzzles were converted to ultimate difficulty. There was no difference in solving a green lvl puzzle or a gold level one. Not sure if this is intended.

hope this helped and some answer on the questions asked would be nice.

Another case of not completed from antiquities tutorial.
This was first when I actually got to minesweeper part. After much trying to figure out how to 'pick up' my antique - because it did not happen - I closed this and retried successfully. And then PTS decided to rollback again.

When I did the digging mini-game in different locations today (auridon, bal foyen, deshaan...) it showed me each time the name of the first item I went for (= the ancient auridon map) above the digging site.

I think this is a bug, if it isn't then it is a very strange design choice.

There are green, blue and purple items that I have tested. Each colour gives a different amount of skill progression xp for Scry and Excavate (same amount for both).
    Green = 1
    Blue = 3
    Purple = 5

That's all good, until I noticed that my "Simple" difficulty green relics turned into "Advanced" difficulty and still only gave 1 xp for recovering, but taking more effort/time. I found this is tied to the Antiquarian's Insight Skill.

At 1/5 Antiquarian's Insight: (all looks fine; Green=Simple, Blue = Intermediate and Purple = Advanced)

    Xv8x2vL.png?1

At 2/5 Antiquarian's Insight: (Still good, Green = Simple, Blue = Intermediate - but can now be Scried and Purple = Advanced)

    TV7R795.png?1

At 3/5 Antiquarian's Insight: (now things have gone wonky, Green and Blue are Intermediate! Purple is still Advanced)

    4FRw5Zl.png?1

At 4/5 Antiquarian's Insight: (Green, Blue AND Purple are all Advanced!)

    2w0Hqcl.png?2

I am not high enough level to get 5/5 BUT I really don't want to see MASTER level Green Relics!

This is quite frustrating. My current goal is to level Scry/Excavate to 10, but the scrying and digging have become more difficult and I still get the same skill progression. I know each level should take longer than the first, but it seems very counter-intuitive to have a Simple Green Scry+Dig give 1 point AND Advanced Green Scry+Dig give 1 point, whereas Purple relics, Advanced seen as lowest difficulty give 5 points with the exact same effort as that Advanced Green.

I am guessing Green should ALWAYS be Simple and Blue should ALWAYS be Intermediate. So if my guess is correct please fix this :)

Are you reporting the gear item^n "typos"? I am not sure those are really typos so much that there is a missing bit of code allowing the trait to display. It does need fixing though.

"Mnemonic Star-Sphere" is listed as a Legendary item on the journal, but when highlighted it is Epic (clockwork city antiquity)

"Void-Crystal Anomaly" is the name displayed in the journal and in the patch notes, but when highlighted the displayed name is 'Black Fragment of Lyg' (coldharbour antiquity)

I'm having a very nasty problem with the system where I am getting booted to the log-in screen, either during, or after digging or scrying for antiquities. Each time this happens, the system glitches out in several ways.

    1. If I am booted after a dig, I completely loose all progress from the dig, even if I managed to retrieve the items. The items I dug up disappear from my inventory, even though the antiquities system registers that I dug them up (For example, I have dug up 6 Scrimshaw pendants so far. The system says I have dug up six, but after a disconnect, I only have 5 in my inventory) additionally, all bonus items and gold from the dig have been lost.

    2. If I am booted during scrying, the map glitches out, showing the discovered area, but no dig site is present. The only way to fix the issue and allow myself to scry again is to completely restart the test server.

    3. If I am booted during a dig, the dig site I have just completed will reappear. If I use the dig site, it will tell me I have "failed and run out of time" even if I manage to discover the antiquity with ample time to spare, and I will not receive any discovered rewards.

Lead: Preserved Music Box Mechanism was looted from Safebox in Stonefalls.

It added the Music Box collection to Auridon, Grahtwood and Summerset pages meaning the lead came from a zone in which the item isn't in. I think this is a bug.

Also, the tooltips for ALL fragments need to say which zone they came from. A player should not have to remember they got Fragment 1 from Zone A already and to ignore that section and focus on Zones B-D for leads.

There's something wrong with the first green antiquity excavation in Northern Elsweyr (Faded Khajiit Claw). Either the excavation node isn't spawning or the eye isn't pointing it out.

Also, it would be helpful if there were an antiquities section in the bug report menu

Seeing this all over AD zones myself. They also drop in level 50 but no CP.

This has been the only excavation loot (so far) that’s struck me as highly unusual and certainly wrong.

Can you guys also move the "energy bar" or whatever it is for the additional dig tools to somewhere that's not the smack-dab middle of the dig grid? I realize it might have been put there so it's plain to see when the bar's full so we can use the other dig tools, but if the artifact is in the central part of the dig, it's really unwieldly to have it there.

I am having this same issue when trying to do the intro quest except I've had no luck in having the mound appear. The intro quest has been really confusing, as there's no indication as to how I'm supposed to use the eye (I found it as a memento then tried to use it but then realized you had to go to the journal first). When I go outside or try using the eye only a glowing blue thing appears but there's no interact prompt or mound or anything that allows me to actually dig. I can't proceed with the quest now.

When I go to the general dig location (the blue zone) I am told that clicking on the scrying eye tool is supposed to give a direction indicator to the actual dig mound location.

So far I have yet to see this indicator.
Each time I have to run around looking for the mound on my own.

I am only level 2 in scrying, is the indicator something I am supposed to get later on?

Am I misunderstanding how parts-based antiquities are supposed to work, or are Snow Treaders broken? I've excavated all 5 pieces, yet the UI says "Pieces Found 0/5". Codex has updated correctly to 5/15, and each one was successfully excavated (not destroyed) and played the little animation of it lighting up and everything. I think everything was right until I dug up the 5th one (Auri-el Metal Carvings, in case that matters), at which point they all seemed to reset.

Since the PTS update, I've noticed that the scrying and excavating are considerably easier than before, and again doesn't vary much with the difficulty of the item.

Furthermore, the codex entries no longer appear on screen when they've been obtained. I looked to see if this was a setting somewhere that has been disabled by default, but no, so I think probably a bug. Now, unless you know about the codex entries and where to find them, you could easily miss them. Especially given how difficult it is to see/find the codex entries for the zone you're currently excavating in (you have to leave the scrying part and go find the zone in the list, then access the codex from there). It's all a bit clunk now, whereas it worked nicely before with the lore snippets appearing on screen. If you don't want them to appear on screen, maybe have us go back to actually visit the NPCs who give them out. Some of us actually enjoy the lore part.
