Since the PTS update, I've noticed that the scrying and excavating are considerably easier than before,
Looks like ZOS fixed difficulty based on skill and item quality. Before the update even green items with max skills had master difficulty. Now green items with max skills have advanced difficulty.

Codex entries don't pop-up when you've found the antiquity and completed the excavation after v6.0.1 update.

General Goods Merchants in Cyrodiil and Imperial City appear to sell a Lead: item but there is no description and no price listed. I checked the following merchants and they all have the same bugged Lead: item listed (pictured below):
    • <Merchant> Hjorga - Southern Morrowind Gate (next to the Banker)
    • <Merchant> Vita Macer - Cheydinhal (next to the well and one of the daily quest givers)
    • <Merchant> Azartah - Cropsford (under an awning near the central flag)
    • <Merchant> Naire - Bruma (Bruma Chapel - large building directly south of eastern flag)
    • <Merchant> Grabash - Vlastarus (inside Watchtower Tavern building near central flag)
    • <Merchant> Senadon - Chorrol (southern outskirts of Chorrol, directly north of Chorrol milegate)
    • <Merchant> Infrasia Corvinus - Imperial City - Ebonheart Pact Base (by the furnishing vendors, opposite General Nash)

The starter quest has an issue where when you are told by gabriella to go outside and dig but there is no mound there. I could only fix this if i scried right next to the door gabriella goes through and beat her before she goes outside.

I am having this same issue when trying to do the intro quest except I've had no luck in having the mound appear. The intro quest has been really confusing, as there's no indication as to how I'm supposed to use the eye (I found it as a memento then tried to use it but then realized you had to go to the journal first). When I go outside or try using the eye only a glowing blue thing appears but there's no interact prompt or mound or anything that allows me to actually dig. I can't proceed with the quest now.

Sadly in that part, you need to reload your character, then talk to gabriella inside and then go with her outside. and the dig site magically appears // I hope get this thing fixed soon

I agree with most everyone else, the tutorial really needs work. It took me a while to even find the
Circle, then the first mound, and so on. I had to hear about the journal tab. Looking forward to this if it gets fixed.

May 14 update: This UI error appears to occur on all "fragment" excavations in all zones, although it has no effect on collecting the antiquity. Dismiss the error; it still works fine. (Tested Ebon Dwarven Mount and music box fragments.)

Didgik's error looks like it might be the same as the one I just got, immediately after excavating the Dwarven Spine-Coupling (part of the Ebon Dwarven Wolf mount, from the Alik'r).
Added: UI error also occurs with the other mount piece from Alik'r, Weathered Dwarven Cogs.

I submitted a bug report in-game, but the error info is too much to submit, so here it is.

Updated May 14: very minor scrying issue moved behind tag, because it's working correctly now. Thanks!
Also a minor thing I've noticed in scrying - the new countdown doesn't seem to be working right. It says "3" all the time. Screenshot shows clearly that I haven't used any of my moves yet here, as an example. And it's not very noticable. I think it's a great idea, though.

I think it got stuck on "3" because I got it down to 3 at one point.

The antiquarian's eye is still not working for Mac players after today's patch (6.0.3). If you try to use it at a dig site, nothing happens except the cool down triggers. There's no orb directing you to the mound. It does absolutely nothing. I'm having a miserable time just finding the mounds to dig them up, especially when it's dark in game.

I am confused by how the Excavation process changed with the v6.0.3 patch.

Before the v6.0.3 patch, I could use the Augar during excavations (1/2 in "Trowel" passive). After v6.0.3 patch, I can no longer use the Augar. When I try after finding main item, I get the error message "You cannot use the radar to find bonus items." I did not see an explanation of this change in the v6.0.3 patch notes.

Update to previous post: I just got the Shovel for Excavations. The shovel works fine; the Augur does not work (but it did before v6.0.0.3 patch).

You could never use Augur for bonus items. It is used for main item only.

I believe the Augur worked for bonus items before v6.0.3. After v6.0.3, the Augur is not working for the main item or the bonus item(s). However, the shovel does work. If the Augur does not work for main item, it would be nice if a message popped up explaining that fact.

Augur is a searching tool. It should work for main item only and it worked for main item only at least at v6.0.0 and v6.0.1.
Trowel and Heavy Shovel are digging tools. They work for any items. Trowel doesn't cost a turn, Heavy Shovel costs one turn independent of the power (one or two intuition). Trowel can damage main item, if you don't have appropriate passives and dig too deep into the item.

[Major Exploit] I discovered an action that levels the two new skill trees ("Scrying" and "Excavating") to Level 10 maximum, instantly, regardless of their starting level. The first time it happened, the character was at level 8 on the two skill trees. I repeated the activity with a different character to see if the exploit would happen again. With just 10 seconds of work, the bug caused the levels of both skill trees to jump instantly from Level 1 minimum to Level 10 maximum. I explained the circumstances of this exploit using two in-game Bug Reports, not wishing to broadcast the exploit in this public forum. [This is no joke.]

Can someone on the team see if finding the location in the dig sites are working as intended for the Mac?

I have a low level character on the PTS, with no points in any of the antiquities trees, and the I get to a dig site and click on the eye, nothing happens. Is this intended? I thought there was supposed to be an indication light or something. Is the a bug on the Mac?

I am not on Mac, but I gotta ask: When you say "click on the eye" do you mean after you have added it to Quick Slot? That's how I find dig sites: get inside the search area, use quick slot (which is press Q key on PC), then start walking in the direction of the light globe (which appears only momentarily in the direction you need to walk, then extinguishes.

When scrying for items it shows the results on the map. This is nice. But if you are in an area with a zoomed in map (city, town, etc.) it doesn't show the entire zone, so you are looking at the city while it is showing a dig site somewhere in the zone. Right clicking does not help here either. Press E, then right click, and now try to find it.

I've received several CTDs from when I try to scry for another antiquity immediately after finding one.

I've tentatively so far managed to avoid this problem by jumping in and out of a few other menus before attempting to scry again, but I'm pretty sure that there's something going wrong when you earn an antiquity and then crash if you try to scry for another lead.
Shortly after the formation of the Ebonheart Pact, a Nord woman was given a tour of the Tribunal Temple. When later asked about the experience, she seemed upset. Suffice to say, the Dunmer were not pleased to hear this, and thus they inquired further.
"Well," the Nord frowned, "the priests were very angry and unwelcoming. They kept shouting things at me like "you can't drink that mead in here!" and "somebody stop her, she's running naked!" and "we can't catch her; she's covered in grease!""

I'm a mac user and i can confirm It doesn't work. You press the eye in your quickslot and it doesn't show up, so you have no idea where to dig. I hope they can fix it on time but I don't know, it didn't have work from the 6.0.0...

Dear ZOS: MAJOR BUG (exploit) that must be fixed before Greymoor goes "live."

I reported this major bug previously, but has NOT been fixed by patch v6.0.4 (which came today).

As reported in my previous post (#46), I have discovered an activity that instantly causes the two new skill trees ("Scrying" and "Excavating") to jump to maximum. For example, this activity will (in 1 second) cause level to go from Level 1 minimum to level 10 maximum on both skill trees. There are several other things that happen that are equally bad. I do not list details here in public forum, but I submitted a new Bug Report in-game on PTS server today (5/18/2020). I submitted two previous Bug reports about this problem prior to v6.0.4. ZOS, email me if there are any questions.

I have verified this on four different characters. The last time, I took better notes and it is even worse than I thought: many more things are impacted by this bug. This is a game-breaker bug. Hope ZOS knows about it. I submitted another in-game bug report with more details about the latest "experiment" with this bug.

This is a bug in the final patch, but the description is too big to post in-game.
I used a dig site near the Windshriek Strand world boss in Malabal Tor to get Face of the Wolf Beast. Somebody started fight with the world boss. First the screen was shaking so much that I couldn't press a square to dig. Then I was killed by harpies while in the excavation mode.
After that I couldn't resurrect. The buttons to resurrect here or to move to wayshrine were not working, I've got a message that I can't interact with the dig site. The T button to see damage log was working.
I tried using command /stuck to move to wayshrine. While waiting for unstuck (more than 10 seconds) I noticed that somebody (from the finished troll fight, I guess) started resurrecting me. Then I moved (dead) to the wayshrine. I couldn't agree with the resurrect again, as the buttons were not working, I still (at the wayshrine) got the message that I can't interact with the dig site.
Then I noticed that I while buttons don't work, I can use the cursor mode and select the prompt with my mouse cursor. So I agreed with the resurrect. It was successful, but the only button working was going back. I couldn't interact with objects, move foward, turn. I could only go back.
I logged out of my character (was needed to confirm logging out with mouse cursor, as buttons were not working) and logged in, and that finally fixed my character. I returned to the dig site, the progress was lost, so I started anew.
