I found that after the update town guards are stronger than before. They have better detection and use alliance war skills to uncover criminals who try to escape them.

Well, this behaviour is not mentioned in the changelog and could be considered a bug.

However, I welcome this change. It widens the gap between casual and professional criminals and grants a dishonest income only to those who put effort to it.

    Guards should not be using stealth detection. that is literally them making the skills you would use to escape worthless.

    They should do more damage, and be able to summon more guards if you dont escape in time, but the use of detection skills is one which I hope is patched out ASAP.
    Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

    I think they use mage light more often, I might be wrong about that, but at least they use flair now, which is totally new.

    Yeah, just replace it with the ring of light in Abah's Watch.
    Crime is stupidly easy already. Stealth detection? Pfft. People who slaughter all of Auridon aren't stealthing at all.
    Besides, being detected does nothing if you don't have a Bounty and aren't doing anything wrong. Apparently it's not suspicious at all to squat and stalk people around.

    It’s impossible, I think when the guards reach a low enough HP they do some massive high damage AoE which most assuredly kills 95% of people.

    I think there was a video on reddit of 30 people attacking a guard who just obliterates them when he gets to 25%.

    I did. 7 good DDs took care of a town guard next to the Belkarth Wayshrine. At 90% the town guard started onehitting, therefore the chosen location. We got about 20k bounty each till we burnt it down and it survived 2 mins at 0 HP before it regged back to higher health. No aoes back then, just crossbow onehits.

    I've had guards use Revealing Flare on me before (I was in Shornhelm bank, trying to cloak to get away, and got flared), so this doesn't sound new. It doesn't happen often, though. Come to think of it, it's been quite a while--at least a year--since that incident.

    I always find stupid to see guard that strong.
    I mean, you're a hero with incredible power, you kill dangerous boss that can obliterate an army.

    And you can't kill a simple town guard.
    Why the hell do we have to take any risk ? Just send a guard to vSS, gonna get the godslayer easy.

    RP wise (not a rp player but a bit of coherence is still welcome) it always bug me..

    I don't think this does anything to make some more professional than others. The last time I triggered a guard was trying to see how timely escape worked. Guards still function like idiots. Oh, you look suspicious so let me turn around so you can pick my pockets in half a minute. You're just talking about making them harder to escape from and only if you don't flee but try to hide after being caught. That's pretty much how they've already worked. Better thieves would result if guards saw you looked suspicious and actually changed their standard walkthrough to keep an eye on you while you're in town. You get a guard's attention, you will not steal anything without being challenged. That would result in thieves planning their heist making sure to arouse no notice such that when a townperson says they are calling a guard one actually appears. But in the end it just makes thieving more difficult for the rather poor result.

    And assassinating guards should definitely be a thing. Maybe its own passive in DB but definitely should be possible.

    Meridia's Light is the reason you can defeat Molag Bal. You are buffed up 10X. And you only get this after sacrificing one of your Companions, and have in your possession the Amulet of Kings to channel that power. None of these apply outside of that fight.

    After that fight is over, you are just a scrub who can self resurrect
    Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Meh, that sacrifice was so overrated. I hoped to rid myself of that shirtless oaf, but he turned up alive and well in Senchal.

    I'm glad that we finally see an example that this game does not go down the road of casual pampering and remains some hard or endgame content.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno Please make sure that the town guard buff makes its way into the next changelog, so that casuals don't complain about the recent changes being a bug, thank you.

    Guards used to all use revealing flare

    It went away for a while, if you have concealed weapons (mag morph) on a NB, or Rapids active, the speed boost is usually enough to be out of the AoE before it reveals.

    Most peoples ideas to add a bit more risk to crime are stupid and would immediately kill any point in doing it. If guards are going to be able to see us when we stealth, the rewards for successfully stealing need to be much higher.

    Sorry but it's too easy right now. People have no problems in Abah's Watch where some of the guards have the stealth-detection light ring.

    Neither did I. Strange times we live in.

    Try questing on a character with a permanent bounty. While actually listening to all the dialogue and not skipping past it. In the middle of towns with guards in them.

    It gets exciting.

    I’m sure the guards power is purely from a gameplay mechanic standpoint to ensure the justice system isn’t made completely trivial. Doesn’t make sense from a lore perspective but neither do a lot of things currently in the game.

    As they are now, guards are completely trivial when you can slaughter all the citizens of Auridon.
    Any buff is welcome to improve the justice system. It would have chosen a wider Accost radius over stealth detection though. People don't bother to stealth in any way when running away. They just run away.

    Let the guards sleep with the fishes, In short they cannot swim and are effected by knockback attacks.

    Use your brain to figure that out.

    Stealth is busted atm. So they prob could see them anyway. It's almost like the Devs removed critical files or something 😬
