Ohh this is definitely the end of ESO forever. The game couldn't even handle a lot of players doing the same thing at the same time, if EVERYONE is downloading the game, I fully expect the servers to catch fire, and the building to burn down. Unless they backed everything up elsewhere, ESO is over.

My stars have aligned. I have a job application to do this week. Crappy event & anticipated patch problems have removed any barriers to getting it done.

I'm not worried. Just 5 days and the client should be downloaded for me again.

Most major updated come with their own set of problems that will be needing to fix. My experience says, over the next couple of weeks don't expect perfection.

I am excited. I been taking a break from the game for a while now and waiting to come back when this new download hits. I'm going to spend the day doing murkmire and the new dragon zone (forget name).

Just play another game if it there are snags, it's wonderful not caring anymore. Trust me, your life is so much better when you stop investing so much into any one game.

Nah. My husband will handle the downloads while I go shopping.

I'm a little bit worried. I am getting a new knee next Monday so not really concerned about the game. I'm sure all the bugs and everything will be worked out before I am able to start playing again. First week or two or three after the new knee sitting in front of a computer is frowned upon.

At parties you could introduce your knees. "This is old knee, this is new knee, say hello old knee" *squeak* "new knee is shy" 😂

But do you have the right shoes? That's the only worthwhile question here.

I’m not worried. If the download doesn’t go smoothly so be it. I’m pretty much ready to walk away from the game anyway.

For the game servers, it's a gamble how much processing power is paid-for and how much is needed. Nobody wants to pay more than they need to, but when more paying customers need more performance, neither hardware nor software can be improved on demand.

Getting more download bandwith for a predetermined period may require as little phone call.

So I'm not worried at all about the download. Much more so about the stability of the overhauled client.

You are kidding right? There have been threads whining about that since the date was released.

My connection speed is so slow I won't even bother re-downloading to be honest. I'll just log in two weeks later when I can't reset my skill points for cheap.

I am going to do the update but I am not expecting anything positive right off the bat. The unfortunate truth is that the last X amount of months(maybe years?), when anything is changed within the game it leads to a bunch of bugs that have to addressed at a later date. Now this update is the biggest thing I can remember happening with the launcher/downloading of the game and I just can't bring myself to look at what may happen with rose colored glasses.

Realistically I am expecting my computer to be using twice as much memory for the game as it was, meaning the re-download was not actually a re-download just more files to sift through resulting in a further bogging down of the servers and game degredation, and for everyone to have to re-do the process more than once to insure everything is actually working correctly.

I've played Archeage, where DDOs attacks had the game down for over a week

It will all run fine ... eventually

One of the big selling points for the change is that there will be Less files. The size is supposed to be Reduced by 30 G.

I know it is supposed to reduce the size by 30gb but the harsh reality is things haven't gone smoothly with this game lately and I am fully expecting it to just duplicate the files and give us more stuff we have to process.

Scared? Nope. I'm just trying to be prepared to be disappointed when the improvements do nothing to actually help the laggy mess cyrodil usually is during primetime.

Yeah balh is a glitchy mess atm. Pink blops popping up again, glitchy keeps, towers cycling assets, people getting stuck in walls, cielings, stairs, the ground EVERYWHERE, getting stuck to random assets like rocks, pebbls, sticks, even steps.

    Its a sad state.
