Craglorn is the better zone. Story is weird content is all over the place difficulty wise and those entering group area message is so annoying. Wish all content was original difficulty just without the forced 4 man group mechanics it had. Fun to have a solo challenge or fun duo doing the content made for 4 novice players.

Summerset is just another quest treadmill did not add any thing new or exciting.

Summerset is visually excellent and features some of the better quest content in the game. I found Craglorn's quests to be dull and poorly written by comparison. Craglorn does have the 'epic reality' aesthetic going for it, but it's not enough for me.

A modern zone vs the buggiest (visually) and worst quest-wise

Summerset has enchanting visuals and great quests. I found some of the side quests, such as the ones involving the House of Reveries very memorable and interesting. Great zone overall.

Hard choice. Summerset is very beautiful and immersive, sometimes I like to visit it just to walk on the beach... but there is basically nothing to do there once you got psijics questline start.
Craglorn on the other side in center of the universe, at least on PC EU. Music and design are amazing, Spellscar, Betnikh... Gameplay wise, there is nothing comparable to Craglorn, but I'm pretty sure vengeful carebears will put it down, because it was ZOS attempt to create overland zone with proper difficulty.

Ew, I hate Craglorn. I only go there for survey gathering now, and I hated getting all the skyshards there. I enjoy Summerset so much, sometimes I just walk or ride my character around and enjoy all the sunny beauty of puffy white clouds floating over blue ocean.

It's a welcome escape from the current grey ugliness of winter in the midwest...I'd rather be in Summerset!

I own two homes in Craglorn and spend a lot of time there. Summerset is visually beautiful but less interesting than Craglorn.

Plus I have fond memories of getting my butt kicked by two wasps the first time I ever went to Craglorn. :o

This was really hard. I’ve spent more time in Craglorn than any other zone (besides Cyrodiil). I really love Crag. The terrain, the story, the high population, active with grouping, dueling, trading, etc. The trials are still fun, and AA is still one of the most beautiful places in the game. It’s been a hub for TES since the lower crag opened.

But Summerset is visually stunning, well laid out, and gave us Jewelry crafting and the Psijic skill line.

I haven’t gotten to either yet.

I keep restarting the game with a new main and then Zos makes a decision that ruins my enjoyment of the pve landscape
Craglorn has Nirn and Nirn farmers.
Summerset looks great but is terribly optimized, I get a frame rate drop there like no other place in this game. Even pop locked Cyro doesn’t feel as bad as Summerset.

    So I can’t decide.

Y'all gotta take the game's first trials and arena into account - AA, HRC, SO, DSA!? Summerset is amazing, and beautiful, and came with its own trial (though CR is one of the least interesting in my opinion), and the stories are great, but Craglorn is much bigger, has more content, and is, in my opinion, very aesthetically pleasing all around - from the desert vibes to the dungeon and trial designs. Plus, high elves are the worst!

Summerset is so ... artificial. And also stuffy, pompous High Elves :no_mouth:. Also Craglorn has deeper lore and fun fights.

AND Summerset has this amazing monstrosity:

These polls are getting tough now. I really loved Craglorn's towers though, and still haven't forgiven ZOS for Summerset's architecture choice and complete lack of explanation for it. Summerset certainly has stunning natural environments though.

I love them both, so I'll help Craglorn a bit :persevere:

To be fair Summerset clearly got a lot more money, when they made Craglorn it was the Dark Times eheheh. Both have great stories, Summerset being more dramatic and personal, with great characters. Side quests awesome too. Place is so beautiful, but too generic to my taste.

Craglorn has someting unique I can't pin down, probably has more to do with my memories when it was a difficult zone that you had to do with friends. But I love the architecture, both Imperial and Redguard. The Arena is awesome too.

Wow, what an extremely difficult choice - at least for me!

My gut said "Summerset" so I'm going with that. I have a feeling it is because of Olorime. But for kicks here is my own personal view of each. (Yes, this is a long comment. I TOLD you it was a tough choice...)

    Craglorn:
+Skyreach (yep, I love leveling alts; I've had some good times in Skyreach)
    +Nirncrux
+Spent loads of time there when it was THE place to be, my trading guild was there, I had a routine of doing writs, turning them in, and stealing out of the containers in that area... it was home for a while, for sure.
    +Multiple trials
-Trials I'm less interested in doing
-Graphics feel dated. I WANT to say I love how Crag looks, and tbh when I farm there I do sometimes stop and enjoy how it looks, but the water in Summerset just calls to me and Crag's look doesn't have the same pull.
-VDSA. Not really Crag's fault, but I don't have fond memories of VDSA. I have memories of never being able to get a group together when it was hot and new, and barely being welcome now because, as a healer, I've seen "I'll only do VDSA with 3 DPS" messages. It's too long for people to be interested in "trying" and there is no Undaunted pledge to even find a day when people are more focused on it, so it lands in this weird space of annoyance for me, as far as 4man content goes.
-Quests. Someone mentioned it had a great story. For me it was something that wasn't in the main story, but wasn't kicked off as a discrete expansion, so somehow it ended up being this mishmash of a place where the story wasn't cohesive or compelling for me. I remember all the main story lines. I have strong memories of Thieves Guild through Elsweyr. Crag has always been this disjointed place of whateverness.
-I could and did make Crag my home, but it still takes longer to log out of Belkarth than if I logged out at Mournhold. Small thing, I know, but drove me crazy and to this day irritates me to think about it. I hated feeding horses when I had my characters there.

    Summerset:
+nCR/vCR. I know this isn't true for everyone but CR just had this feeling for me of ushering in the golden age of healing, where we FINALLY got a new BIS set to play with, and that hadn't happened since IC. Finally, no more SPC! AND those of us not in a progression raiding guild could work towards non-perfected gear and it was still basically BIS! I've had great times in CR. Love the "mini-trial" idea. But others don't have the same pull for me and I think it's because they don't have a "must-have" healing set. CR was before all the healing nerfs, and that's part of it too. CR was when healers were working towards the new set, experimenting with builds... for me Olorime was all those things and you can only obtain it in Summerset!
+The beautiful water and other scenery
+The memorable stories, including the quest that gave us indriks! Yep, I was one of those that adored the indriks, said immediately "I want them as a mount" and have yet to be annoyed that they are now the mount we get, re-colored six (?) times so far, via events. I love them. And I love the pets even more.
+Jewelcrafting. In some ways JC hasn't lived up to the hype for me (I was very excited about builds that would leverage crafted sets more now that we could create jewelry, and that hasn't really been the meta) but I remember the excitement of getting it and I'm still glad that we have the additional options now.
+Fishing is more interesting in Summerset due to Pyandonean Bottles.
-The snootiness. Yea the quests were memorable but almost no one in Summerset is likable, LOL.
    - - - - - Psijic Order Quest Line: I exaggerate the amount of "-'s" but wow, to me this is the #1 skill line for annoyance upon replay-ability. I enjoyed the skull's humor the first time. But otherwise, having to push alts through the long, repetitive content, and not easily since they typically don't have all of the waypoints, is excruciating. At least with Fighter's Guild, Undaunted, and Mage's Guild the activities required can align with other things you'd do naturally in the game but with Psijic... NOPE, you have to do this quest line. It is horrible. And it has the ability that for whatever reason I despise and has ruined a lot of magicka DPS potential for me - Elemental Weapon. Bleech. However this is half against Summerset and half against Arteum, which is its own entry in the contest so...

.... with healing in my blood, Summerset wins!
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.
