Is anyone a fan of the Camel mounts?

Any time I use my Crown Gems I've always steered clear of the camels and go for Horses/wolves/bears but opening a pack tonight I got one of the New Moon Camel mounts. So far its pretty neat and has a great aesthetic and goes well with the crow polymorph, plus its a really tall mount that towers over everyone. It's growing on me so I'll probably end up buying another Camel in the future. Anyone else have a mount type grow on them?

I only have the log in reward Black camel from the summer but my Khajiit rides it and I enjoy it's long strides and loping gait.

As you say, it's really tall, so you get a great view of everything around you.

Definitely an underrated mount type!

I do! Camels are my favorite and I use them on most of my characters. Even before I had any, I always thought they looked the best.

I’m not a fan. They’re a bit like the Indrik’s nasty cough.

Their running gait might be anatomically precise and reflect how real camels run. However, from the rear it looks ugly as hell. Their feet never quite seem to make contact with the ground. They make me wonder, well who signed off on that and how low grade their standards are. The ‘art’ of designing for games is to make something look both real (I must believe that this pixel animal has structure, weight and moves correctly) and attractive (it must be something I want to ride and not look ridiculous).

It’s almost as if they’ve been solely designed to be pack shots, lovely side views that will sell in the Crown Store but end up sucking in game. These camels look fine standing still, but are crappy when all you’re seeing is their bouncing arses.

Pretty confusing in the beginning. I’m not going to ride that...

While I prefer horse and bear mounts, my son is a great fan of camel mounts; his crazy nightgown-and-chamber-pot wearing Altmer zombie sorc main uses the 'regular' camel most of the time - unless she feels even more crazy, then she takes the nix-ox instead.

I don't like the way they run, the way they spit or sneeze (frostbane camel) is another matter.

I got the Hammerfell camel a while ago with the Thieves' Guild DLC and always ride it in Alik'r and Hew's Bane, I find it funny

So far there was only one camel I loved: Flame Atronach camel If looks nice, and has the coolest (or maybe the hottest ) spit of all camels!

I was actually thinking to buy fluffy Frostbane Camel when these crates return, but few months ago I saw player who was showcasing this mount. It had ordinary green/yellow spit coming out of it's mouth Not a snowy cloud as I logically imagined... Really lame detail, and it ruined the mount for me

I think the camel looks cool when standing still.

I think when you "walk" the camel looks really realistic.

I think when you have no mount bonuses, the camel run looks realistic.

I think when you have mount speed up to max, then throw on That Assault skill speed boost, it looks ridicules. (That is one reason I don't ride it). Another reason I don't ride one, is my wife does not like them.

But the main reason I don't ride one, is I have senches. Which are awesome, and to me look the best when you sprinting at fully maxed speed with added Assault skill speed boost.

Wolfs look cool to except for the constant panting when stopped.

The elk runs decent, until you add the Assault skill.

I think most mounts animation was made for no speed increase, which is sad as everyone puts speed to max. So they should have made the animation of that setting.

Senche-raht doesn't move like the Senche.

I like my camel. Woe to the unsuspecting player who walks by right as my camel spits on them. I find it rather amusing, having been the victim of one too many mud flinging assaults by other players.

Nope, I really dislike them for multiple reasons.

The most important is the running animation and sound. When you sprint with it together with rapids, the sound is really annoying. I did not notice this until recently because I always ride my striped senche-tiger (which I really like). All the horses are now banned from riding too.

Also, I think camel's are very ugly animals, I don't get happy looking at them. Wolves and felines look much better

Cyrodiil is another reason. You become a really big 'hey look at me' target when riding a camel.

But I must say, in some situations a camel can look good. A friend of me has made a character with an Arabic name and clothing and of course had a camel. That looked awesome.

All of my characters use the Dro-m'Athra Senche mount.

Only my Argonian's Camel-Lizard. Getting it to spit hist sap all over people I don't like is strangely satisfying.

I have two and I'm not a fan . They are not attractive or graceful animals, and the spitting is gross.

Big cats and wolves are the mounts I prefer.

Yup, big camel fan here. All of the mounts I use are camels, cause they are objectively the best.

I do sometimes use the flame atronach camel when node-hunting because it gives a higher view of the area. And both that and the black camel of misfortune are amusing to watch run. But there are bridges and other areas you can't pass through on a camel, so I typically ride a horse, wolf, or senche instead.

My main still rides the white camel I got from the first Black Friday bundle. I waited most of the year for it to drop after TG after seeing it in a data mine.

I love the camels ! It was a good day when I got the Bandaari camel out of a crown crate. I also have the Camel of Ill Omens and the reward calendar camel and love them too.
