So , with sustain being absolutely butchered this patch how are you all managing your resources? What effect has it had on your builds and how have you adapted?

Serpent Mundus. It's my fault really, I wanted a stamplar Breton. At the time I was "*** meta."

I still am "*** meta" but there are consequences.

I might make her a Bosmer after my overtime payroll comes in a few weeks.

This patch: Working, reading books, drinking cognac, binge watching TV-series, catching up on leather and silver crafting, and spending time with my son instead of any old sets/rotation. Sustain feels amazing.

Either throwing in heavy attacks if I'm not looking to lose damage numbers on my character sheet, or switching some glyphs around so I can keep light attack weaving.

The damage between those two variables, at least for me, has been roughly the same.

And either way, sustain has been *** poor.

    Welp...

    1) Changed some skills
    2) Changed champion points around
    3) Lost 22k damage from before patch

    Repeat

    1) Found out I can't run BARBED TRAP and ELEMENTAL WEAPON on the same character because after 4 ELEMENTAL WEAPONS I have NO stamina left to hit BARBED TRAP or use ELEMENTAL WEAPON for 2 rotations because they increased the cost of Barbed Trap to 3240 Stamina and Elemental Weapon to 3122 Stamina

    2) Will now switch trap back to Channeled Acceleration and keep trying.
    3) Will look into Stamina glyphs but at the cost of what.

So very frustrating when you work full time and have to try to rework your characters for the 3rd or so time this year. Now instead of playing and progressing I'm trying to change skills, champion points, gear, improve new gear, farm new weapons, farm materials for spell potions just to keep trying parsing all the new stuff. Maybe a month or so trying to hit requirement for guild trials. It's almost too much work instead of fun.

Both my healer and my off-tank use Lich as a sustain set so I have zero sustain issues on those chars. I have yet to play any of my DPS characters, so not sure yet.

I've been running Lich for the past 2 years on both of those characters and have never had sustain issues, period. It boggles my mind at how overlooked the set is tbh.

Somehow I am barely keeping my head afloat even in PvP on my mag DK.

Now, on my test mag DK I leveled from 1-50 in new patch with no CP and only gear I picked up? Terrible sustain and I have no idea how ZOS expects new players to do anything to be honest.

Seducer-set. Regen-glyphs. Prayers and sweat and potions. I love my magBlade-main but it is definitely a bumpy relationship. I also finally took the damn Soultrap with the morph that gives health and magicka when enemy dies.

Adapting and overcoming idiotic game development is anything but progress. Give me good, creative content to adapt to and overcome, not some development nerd with his head in the sand.

How am I managing sustain this patch? By playing Destiny 2.

Very easily actually, by canceling my sub and switching to a game where the developers actually listen to the player base and respect them.

The last 2 days I respec’d my main into the greatest PVE overland dragon fight healer around.

This was after I came to the realization that my PVP skills are no longer up to par.

Oddly I’ve had more fun then I’ve had in a while, no stress and have noticed that managing your resources is not a problem when you’re just spamming heal over times into 20 people while hitting my vape pen.

My healers are still sort of OK. I need to chug magicka potions for content that did not require it before, I need to use expensive spell power potions more often, and I need to stand seeing the health bars of the group dip a bit lower than they used to, but other than that, I can use the same healing skills as before, more or less. I did swap one spell damage glyph for a magicka regen glyph, though. Before I did that, I had to throw in way too many heavy attacks.

My healing output as a whole suffered a bit, however. Some content that was only slightly out of reach for me before now feels even further out of reach, and some content I could handle before has become too difficult for me to bother doing it, but all in all, I saw no huge changes to what I can do in the game. I lost the ability to play a few vet dungeons and trials, but I'll live. I never considered myself a great player anyway, so I can stand being forever locked out of vCR+3.

Not all situations where you need to adapt and eventually overcome can fell in the "progress" category.
If you lost your home and become homeless, but eventually adapt, is that called a progress?
Is it better or worse your compared as it was before?
