I really like my playstyle (stamdk) but i know what to change and what gear i need to change the dps to 20k-25k but still i dont want to change becuse i have fun the way i play right now, but i still want to do content

Now i have stopped caring about Trails and vDLC so was wondering is 15k (can do 19k max) alot or atleast okey for all conent exept vet-dlc and vet-trails but like vMealstorm is something i plan to do very soon and what about nDLC ?

For vet content you will struggle. You should run better gear if you are going to be playing with others and just switch back when not.

I wouldn't recommend maelstrom with that low of damage, but if you can sustain and do the mechanics flawlessly I suppose you might be able to make it through.

I am afraid I have to dissapoint you, but I do not think that 15k DPS can get you through vMailstrom.

Have you tried normal Maelstrom Arena yet? How is it going for you there?

You say it yourself: You know what you have to do to get more DPS, so my advice would be: Just change the gear to maximum DPS to beat vMaelstrom, it really is quite hard untill you get to know it better. Every edge you can get matters.

Once you have beaten vMaelstrom, you can change back to your less optimal build to quest and do overland content.
And so the Elder Scrolls foretold. You will be shy, and I will be bold.

I agree with the above poster.

I think you might struggle a little with some normal dlc dungeons as well.

VMA will be very rough with only 15k DPS. It's rough the first time with decent dps as it is.

You'll have to learn and execute mechanics perfectly, and I'm not sure you'll be able to pass stage 5 because it's a timed dps check and if you don't kill the last round boss fast enough, she kills you.

25-30k at least if u want to learn the mechanics.

I mean I doubt there is a hard number you can put on it. But I would say about 25k+ I suppose. With you being a stamdk I would really recommend getting a sustain set like Vicious Ophidian for maelstrom. I've heard good things about vengeance leech as well.

Assuming the dps you refer to is parse on 6 mil dummy, 15k is well below average and not enough for vma. You want 25k ish at least. Ofc ideally 30+.

I'd go ahead and start working on vet Maelstrom. The last parse I did before completing vMA was 18k on a stam sorc with Hundlings, Agility and Stormfist. Stam sorc is good for vMA. But I'd start trying and then adjusting your gear.

This was a good reponse :D okey thx i quess if i really want to go for it i might have to change some.. aint just the gear also skills i dont want to change, like hidden blade i think its a fun skill to use and love it when i interup with it, but i also know that deadly cloak is far better but boring to me, and endless hail is also a good dps but hate that skill so dont use it, so i quess i have to be more open to meta then if i want to clear meal, and start farming for gold/gear

I mean there is the 1-bar pet sorc build that only does like 10k dps. So dps is really not the issue in vMA. It is learning the mechanics. If people can post videos of beating vMA while only using bash, then the answer is that you can beat it with anything once you learn mechanics. Just get in there, start practicing it, and bring a lot of soul gems lol

yea i know, the hard part isint dps but mechanics but still i would feel better when i fail over and over that the moment i can the mechanics i will win and that it aint my dps that stopping me

I'd say just play the way you want and try out the content. If you fail at harder stuff, you fail. Big deal. Who knows? You may be the first 15k DPS StamDK to finish vMA.

Just as in life, you won't get very far if you depend on others to tell you what you can and can't do.

There are rounds were lower than usual dps still works in vMA (Round 2 for example). I know this because I would change into gear that lowered my dps, but raised my health, health recovery, and physical/spell resistances to deal with the bleeding mechanics from the blades. My dps was prolly between 10-20k, but not positive what it was. With 32k resists, and 2k health recovery, I had no problem finishing the round. The same set up would not work for me in dps races, however. Rounds 7 and 9 are, essentially, dps races and damage mitigation, though helpful, is secondary to quickly burning down the crematorial guards, venom callers, and other threats that need to be taken out as quickly as possible.

You may want to choose gear which enhances your dps. Golden that gear, golden glyphs. Golden jewelry isn't mandatory.
Check your skills and cp allocation.

If you give us details about your build, we can help you improve. (gear/skills/mundus/race/parse stats)

I don't know how good you are at parsing, you might need a parse improvement or not. A lot of questions unanswered.

    Edit: typo

if you want to carry your own weight in dlc vet and hm , you should go for +40 at least
and if you only do (light attack + spammable ability) you can easily do +25 so I don't know how you are stuck with 15k

    Hello :)

Myself and my guild love to do content with unique build (but who work).

For one of your question, you should aim for 30k DPS at the very least. It would let you run most of the content w/o problem.
15k is very low. If you wanna an idea, 2 of my healer (Templar and NB can pull between 20 and 30k DPS.

Can you message me in private (or here) your 2 skill barre, all gear name and mundus stone (+cp number.
Or do this here : https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildEditor
=> Register, make your build (gear, cp skill, etc..), hit the save button (upper right) and copy-past the link.

Then me, and other would help you better.
I promise I'll try to keep the build the most close of what you love ^^

It's always nice to see someone who want to stick to something he love and improve it instead of blindly copy-past generic meta build :)
It will, ofc, be harder to be as effective as meta build, but it's totally doable to be good enough to do all the content.
Rotation and build are more important than gear.

    Don't do it.

Let ZoS realise that forcing people into set builds (and making other builds red herrings) is not good game design.

You fool, you've tripped the Taboo! Quick, we need to get the wards back up befo-

On topic, I pm'd you some advice OP. Remember that you don't have to clear vMA in one session if it's taking too long. As long as you keep the quest you can leave and come back, and start again on the arena you left at. Doing it in one sitting is only for scores.
