The game is too easy and has been for years because of the Champion Points system.

I welcome the new changes because challenge is what makes a game interesting.

Can you post a picture of your Sunspire senche please?

Which direction? Last patch or this patch? They contradict each other.

The general direction. There was a lot in the last update besides DoT increases and that was never the reason I liked the last update anyway.

Because they're not reverting the changes, they're nerfing things above and beyond.

It makes it painfully obvious they don't what they're doing and have no plan.

The game has done nothing but improve under their direction. So I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you about that.

lol clueless. real shocker there as you usually are. ZOS themselves have stated that a very low percentage of the player base is completing vet content. So hey lets just nerf EVERYTHING. Yeah that will fix it. I guess they dont want players completing their content they come out with. That is such a great vision for the game.

They wanted to get rid of the tank meta in PvP. Now they nerf DPS to oblivion. So welcome back the tank meta.
Sure this combat team sure has a real good vision for the game and has done nothing but improve it. SURE!. just how delusional can you be?

I think you're lumping veteran trials with the rest of veteran content.

Because if you think only a very low percentage of player base have never completed any veteran content - I'm not the one who is "clueless" here.

And yes - this game has drastically improved under the leadership of this new combat team.

If by "improve" you actually mean "massively deteriorate," then yes. If not, you are off your rocker big time. Throwing gigantic nerfs around to skills you just barely buffed, that leave them worse off than before you touched anything, cannot be considered anything other than inept. You can't defend that, and any attempts to just seriously erode your own credibility.

Not only will I defend it - but I will defend it happily. I could care less what you think of my so-called "credibility".

I listened to this same garbage after ever update - how the sky is falling - how the end of the world is coming. I remember when the healing changes were coming and I had to listen to pages and pages of people ranting and raving and attacking me for daring to defend them and how stupid I was because no one was going to be able to heal anything anymore. Well it turns out it was complete nonsense and I'm actually enjoying playing my healer again.

So if anyone has lost "credibility" it's the people on this forum who act like it's the end of the world every time they nerf something. So the more of those people on this forum who disagree with me - frankly that just means the credible I am. lol

The bottom line is damage on this game has been out of control on this game for years. It needed massive nerfs - and I'm thrilled that we finally have a development team who understands this.

yes, to prevent the 27 (twenty seven!!!) crashes we had last night in vSo, at the second boss 10 over 12 crashed at the same time! Major changes to fix bugs (second boss in Hel ra is still bugged, if 1 group wipe the run is lost), invisible mobs, invisible aoes, flying rams, the lag, etc...

Yes, Q4 improvements and blablabla but improvements and nerfing everything by 60% are not working for the same goal

If you're correct then the game's population should stay steady or even improve. Will be interesting to see if that's the case in various endgame aspects...

I'm going to translate "various endgame aspects" as Veteran Trials - and note that segment of the population is a very small percentage of the general playing base. They may deteriorate as a result - since they concentrate on content that is not as affected by the ludicrous damage on this game as the rest of the game is. They also tend to dominate this forum (like on most video game forums) so the commentary is often skewed as a result and does not accurately reflect the state of the game for most players.

In other words: when 99% of the game an absolute face roll due to ridiculous damage the 1% of the game that is still challenging is not sufficient to counterbalance that. The combat teams of late have concentrated far too much on making that 1% happy instead of the other 99% and this new team actually seems to take the full scope of the game into account so the very least I can do is support their efforts here on this forum.

    Crashes are a separate issue.

I am referring to gameplay changes. I personally have not been dealing with crashing issues. So while I can appreciate the fact you are - I can't relate to your problems in that regard.

And even though you are exaggerating by saying they are nerfing everything by 60% - to be quite honest with you I wouldn't be against a blanket 60% nerf to damage. So you are probably talking to the wrong guy here. ^^

As I've said countless times on here already - the damage on this game has been absurd for years. It's just stupid how fast things die - and I'm thrilled we finally have a combat team who understands that.

Do you seriously think this update is gonna stick it to the 1% of players at the top who can plow through endgame PvE? That's rubbish. These players are already in guilds, have all the gear in the game more of less, and are going to quickly identify a new meta and lock it down. The players who ARE going to suffer are the players who have been grinding out the right gear, grinding out the transmute stones, and getting everything gold, only to watch their build be made obsolete again before they've had a chance to dip into endgame content.

These damage nerfs also aren't going to have a tangible difference on overland content. The overwhelming majority of overland enemies are still going to do next to no damage to players and still get one-shot. Vanilla world bosses will be mildly more annoying. DLC world bosses are often already really difficult.

For all this damage you keep talking about, I sure see a ton of PvP'ers who can absolutely faceroll through it all. Do you not watch any known PvP streamers? Have you not seen how insanely strong stacking HOTs is even in this meta? We haven't had a true "damage meta" since 1T. What build are you running that's getting you nuked down that fast?

The game needs to be interesting outside of just "hard modes".

So If certain hard modes are too difficult as a result of these changes they can simply be altered to accommodate them. That's not saying "screw you". It's trying to improve the game as a whole instead of just having tiny fragments of challenge - which is not a good design scheme.

Sorry, but removing your CP and stripping your character is just stupid. Just the fact you would even suggest that is all the evidence we need that this game was in need of major changes.

The game needs to be at least mildly challenging outside of Vet Hard Mode Trials and people shouldn't have to go out and "look" for challenges. The game as a whole needs to be challenging and interesting. Not too challenging to where it's frustrating - but it does need to be challenging enough to where it's at least fun. The fault belongs to the previous combat teams (not the current one) - who allowed the damage on this game to get way out of control in the first place.

Pfffft ...Now I see why so many label you clueless. 99% is no way accurate..had you said majority...sure...but not only to pull a number outta your ass...you pull 99% pffft Good Day Sir!

As I said, when the entire landscape is a joke and most dungeons - that number did not come "out my ass". If it's an exaggeration - it's only a slight one. And since all you seem capable of is insulting others - it probably would be for the best if you called it a day.

    I said "Good Day!"

Welp. Looks like me, my friends, and 95% of all the people in the once populated guilds I were in won't be coming back any time soom, lmao.

I'm not surprised, but at the same time, what the absolute *** is going in at HQ? I'm really starting to believe they're smoking and snorting away all the revenue they're generating from ESO, given the choices they make for this game.

Community for years: Please ZOS, no more nerfs, it's killing the game, plea--
ZO$, after snorting their 10th line:

This game did nothing but improve after the last update. I have no reason to believe it won't do the same after this one.

As usual - people are freaking out prematurely. This happens before every update and at this point it's frankly comical.

Making overland/quest Content and base game vet Dungeons and normal Dungeons more "interesting" would require incredibly heavy nerfs, you dont Need any dots at all for overland/quest/normal Content as Long as nearly everything dies in 1 LA spammable weave but People dont understand that, if you want that stuff to become interesting then it Needs to be changed completely or the alternative to that would be to render all of our abilities near useless and reduce our defense and heals massively.

I just don't get it. These forums were aflame over DoTs being too powerful. Now it's up in arms because they nerfed them. :)

Because they're not reverting the changes, they're nerfing things above and beyond.

It makes it painfully obvious they don't what they're doing and have no plan.

The game has done nothing but improve under their direction. So I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you about that.

Well you lost any credibility when you state when 99% of the game an absolute face roll due to ridiculous damage. 99% really? pffft

I'd love to see your evidence supporting that conclusion.

Go play the game. There is your evidence.

High level players literally melt the entire landscape on this game and probably every normal dungeon - and most Veteran dungeons. So I can think of far worse things to do to this game other than reduce player damage (which has needed to happen for a long time).

There is something to your argument. But I look at this as just a start. Hopefully this is just the first step of a long list of steps designed to balance this game out in terms of player damage vs the content. In any case: I'm going to welcome any nerfs to player damage along the way as I see that as moving in the right direction. Because player damage is the primary offender.

So you're simply labeling conjecture as fact?

Whether or not the sky is falling, or even whether or not it matters because it's simply a video is mostly irrelrvant, but, intentionally misrepresenting information is a matter of principle.

How is playing the game "conjecture".

This makes no sense. Real time experience is not "conjecture". Go play this game as a high level character with Max CP and go see for yourself. The only thing "irrational" here is people freaking out over damage nerfs on a game where the damage is already so insanely high you can literally melt most of the content.

This is why you never take MMO's seriously unless your ready for lots of meta changes and balance swings. Its also why I don't play pvp because lol pvp in an mmo is so pointless because its impossible to ever properly balance. I intend to only have one of each role for end game content as doing more would be a waste of time when the meta shifts too hard.
