Because it is a good game and has always had the potential to be great.
IMO, ZOS put too much emphasis on making single player TES fans happy when in reality, this isn't that, it's an MMO.
You'll see less care about game direction when they do more F2p events and the remaining vets start leaving.
Conversely, if you go to Reddit, you'll see nothing but praise because that's an overwhelmingly casual environment that are uninterested in mechanics.
The vast majority of posts on the forum that I have read during today's maintenance are negative in nature.
So I wondered "Why does the player continue playing if they are not having fun anymore?".
Any thoughts?
I'm not convinced that cutting off a developer's revenue stream while arguing for greater investment in the game is the way to go about it.
We complain because we care. If I were ZOS, I'd be more worried if people didn't complain. Because it would mean that they had left and stopped caring.

It's not all bad. The core game is really amazing, it is just plagued by missmanagement in my opinion. After five years it's not that easy to just move on, especially with the current MMO market.
