Should we be given Thu’um skill line

Yeah. Sure. I say go for it. Most of the skills we have in game already should take our characters years (story wise) to master anyway. But we learn them through killing X number of bad guys and collecting shiny crystals. Why would Shouts be any different?

No, they aren't Dragonborn.

They have, however, spent their entire lives studying/meditating/whatever in order to use the Thu'um. Not traveling around, not adventuring, not clearing crypts/dungeons/world bosses, crafting, or questing. Just studying.

Not sure how much adventuring/questing one would be capable of if your character couldn't actually start until they've dedicated all of their time for *decades* studying.

The biggest issue with allowing the Thu'um to be used by the PC here in ESO is that it could completely wreck Skyrims lore and importance of the LDB. The PC does not have 10 years to master just 1 skill and if we were to be given it straight away it would absolutely undermine the need for a Dragonborn all together. Since anyone near or more powerful than the Vestige could potentially master the Thu'um.

No, not interested. I did Thu'ums to the point of boredom while playing TES V. If there's going to be another skill line I'd like something new to explore, please.

There's something in Elsweyr that might be a teaser for a new skill line. It's quite intriguing, and it also might resolve all the learning difficulties some of the people here seem to have. Be warned this might also be a hint at the location of a future DLC or Chapter:

So much there:

• Saarthal, which is very close to Winterhold.
• A working Dwemer lift into Blackreach or somewhere similar, and someone who knows where it is.
• Acquiring an entire skill line by eating a "soul gem".

Minus the bolded part, this is pretty much the plot of the Imperial City questline, as he's attempting to make sure the barriers between Oblivion amd Tamriel can't ever be restored through the Alessian covenant.

Unfortunately for him, the Drake of Blades teams up with the Vestige...

Would be interesting if it was just a skill line that was just all ultimates... so you could only use one.

I think it is an option for later content, for example, there is the path to the Throat of the world from The Rift.

I would like to see western skyrim expansion eventually. Personally, I'd prefer The Reach and Solitude holds to Whiterun though.

I was going to make an overlong post about how I would develop a Western Skyrim Expansion.

Sure, but the skill line must take several several decades to level before you get your first shout.

Its not about learning the Thu'um itself, but the time it takes to learn the skill. Its already established that if you're not a Dragonborn it takes a lifetime of study and meditation to master the Thu'um. Only Dragonborns can master the Thu'um immediately by simply reading or hearing it. Because we dont have the time to master the Thu'um in ESO, it would basically be handed to us and absolutely ruin the need for a Dragonborn all together.
