Is it time for a third set of class ability morphs?

    Yes
    That is one thing I liked about Rift; expansions added more souls (skill lines in eso) to the existing classes. You could have an endless mix of builds, and respec easily with stored setups. It was pretty engaging.

      • Return Stam builds to the power we held in One Tamriel. Long Live Stamina builds!
      • Put Magplar and MagDK into their place. Magpsorc is a hopeless case.
      • Is there any chance that we could get an Ebonheart Pact nerf? #CullingTheHerds .

      TBH I'd love mag DW support. Ye olde golde mag dual wield. Just doing morphs wouldn't be enough but ZOS could make light attacks scale off max stats and hit lowest armor value (maybe). Maybe could get a stamina energy orb too?

      Absolutely not. They can’t even normalize and balance what’s there now. Not to mention this spike the power of players at a time when they’re trying to curb power keep. ESO functions well as a limited skills game no reason to fix what ain’t broke.

      Options are amazing, I love options, I'm all about more options. Before that's even thought of though, we should talk more about how to rework existing morphs of certain abilities to be even somewhat viable and also an Undaunted ultimate.

      Honestly a 3rd morph to everything would be great they could even bring back old versions of skills we lost to berfs and changes like bring back the dk molten weapon that gave the heavy attack dmg buff, re add the self dot aura that the cauterize skill had before changed to a fire ball. Bring back the original crit surge that healed based on dmg dealt, even could add hybrid skills if they wanted like say warden could get a pink netch that heals all 3 stats over time, toss in a stam crystal frag morph, add air attonach that does phsyical wind dmg for storm atto morph. Bound weapon morph for the bound arma and aegis that maybe adds a berserk buff. Lot they could do bringing back the old and just adding a new option that doesnt destroy an exsisting one

      I also vote add some 3rd weapon morphs like add a dps no taunt morph for sword and board and give a tankier taunt option for two hander like make a brawler morph that cone taunts enemies hit.

      Pure number of skills doesn't mean much. After all, Soul Trap is a "Magicka" skill with "Magicka" morphs, but how often does it get used in any halfway meaningful content - either PvP or PvE? It's possible to make a solid Stamina build out of almost entirely non-Class skills, but you could in no way do the same thing for Magicka; if we didn't "dominate" the number of class skills, no one would play Magicka for anything other than dedicated healers.

      You simply can't have Stam Sorcs with a Crystal Frag + Curse combo on top of Bleeds and the rest of their toolkit, especially when Magicka builds would most likely not benefit much, if any, from extra class morphs.

      While I do think there needs to be some way to de-polarize some of the magicka/stamina ability scaling (which is due mostly to CP passives tbh), I do not have the confidence that they will be able to balance a third skill morph on top of everything else. It is an interesting idea, but I'd rather they make skills up-gradable for 1 skill point and allow us to use use EITHER morph on our skill bars but not both simultaneously. This would make it so that we would not have to spend gold all the time when jumping between PvP and PvE due to having the wrong morphs selected. I'm tired of having to switch morphs, stats, and gear every time i want to jump into Cyrodill or Battlegrounds. The experience needs to be more seamless.

      Most of the skills already have 1 morph that's useable and 1 useless morph. Adding a third morph doesn't add build diversity if the core issue of morphs being nonviable isn't fixed

      2 problems:
      1. Making a third morph for every single skills in this game right now requires a lot of work, meaning you'll most likely not gonna to see them in near future.
      2. Even with only 2 options, ZOS is still struggling with balancing the game, or even make both morph of the same skill feel somewhat viable. A third morph option might solve the balance problem, but there will also be a possibility that it will make things much much worse.

      I'd love if they would add it, but let's be honest they have a hard time even balancing the current abilities and are still adding more skilllines regardless...

      What I would prefer much more for now would be the option to unlock both morphs but only ever be able to have either on your bars. So if I slot dark conversion there should be no way for me to put dark deal on my bars except to unslot dark conversion first. It would really help with a few abilities like rally/forward momentum depending on wether you run heavy or medium armor.

      3 morphs could allow for a magicka morph, a stamina morph and a pvp morph... could make for an overall better distinction and experience between pvp and pve....it seems to me that more and more stamina morphs seem to get "hijacked" for pvp...

      But i also doubt they will do this...

      Another thing they could have done - which would probably have been the best solutions anyhow - is to make most skills automatically scale to your highest statistic - stamina or magicka and also automatically change the damage type (like the domihaus set does)... this way you'd essentially get 4 options out of 2 skills and therefere a TRUE CHOICE between 2 skills

      I say no for two reasons. First is adding a second tier of morphs means significantly more skill points required. The other is Zos is already over their head with what they have now. We do not need to add to their plate until and unless they can figure out how to run the game well.
