Where Should The Next Elder Scrolls Chapter DLC Be Located? (After Elsweyr)
Akavir, a whole new world of possibilities... and snake men...
God, AKAVIRI please!!! Somewhere outside Tamriel. But I doubt it would be anytime close. Do other continents even have Elder Scrolls?
"We're heroes, my boon companion, and heroes always win! Let that be a lesson to you." -Caldwell, "The Final Assault"
"There is always a choice. But you don't get to choose what is true, you only get to choose what you will do about it..." -Abnur Tharn, "God of Schemes"]
Morrowind - 4 - Bal Foyen, Stonefalls, Deshaan, Vvardenfell
Akavir - 0 - (But this is another continent entirely, larger them tamriel)
Then look at some old, OLD maps...
...and start counting what's left to do.
Hammerfell - ca. 4-5 (Weeping desert, Sunforge, and depending on how they split the rest... two large or three small regions)
Western Skyrim - 6 (Falkreath, Whiterun, Pale, Hjaarlmarch, Solstheim, Reach)
Black Marsh - ca. 4-5 or so, depending on how they split it up...
Morrowind - 3-4 (Velothi Highlkands, Gorne, Telvanni peninnsula, either together with telvanni isles, or seperate for two regions)
Akavir - more then they ever could do for Tamriel
Imperial remnant - 3-4 (Colovia, Nibenay, Blackwood... they might split nibenay into valley and basin...)
Summerset - done
Valenwood - 1 (Falinesti)
High Rock - done
Elsweyr - 1-2 (from the looks of it the expansion will cover anequina and half of tenmar, so I assume they would split the rest in two DLC sized bites...)
I am hoping for more black marsh, since we have very little from that corner of tamriel yet. And they still should have some leftoverd from the first design of murkmire that they reworked in to what we got now. But... they DID recently do it with murkmire, so... perhaps skyrim or hammerfell might be more change of scenery?
Of course, the imperial connection with the elsweyr expansion might indicate that perhaps they could go there someday doon, see what tharns relatives have been up to... it was hinted at there will be more trouble from that direction, yes?
Akavir itself I don't see happening, but... there -are- three isles in the sea between akavir and tamriel, those would make an -excellent- expansion someday, with a story to find out the reason behind the invasion, and prevent the next one... while showcasing the akaviri... and perhaps even allowing players to enjoy them as crown store unlock race...
Whatever mainland zone not yet touched. I don't care what it is but some memorable creativity and uniquess, please.
Let the artists art and writers write instead of doing unpaid overtime applying formulas at assembly line.
I would be surprised if the Q4 DLC is not Southern Elsweyr or Whiterun hold and. given the scale, I'm leaning to Whiterun Hold (the Riverwood chicken backdrop shows that they have made some of that area in engine). Potentially they may do Bleak Falls as a DLC dungeon, it would keep in with the dragon theme for Q3 DLC, but I'd love to return to the hold. Southern Elsweyr would be alright, but I'd rather not get double Elsweyr in a year, yet, given Lawrence said we'd learn more about the khajiit "throughout the year", it is looking unlikely that the khajiit are confined to one DLC this year.
For the game to be five years old and only have one real realm of oblivion is a little odd (and Coldharbour is badly in need of a mechanical makeover). Especially so considering the daedra are the classic villains of the Elder Scrolls realm. So I would hope we'd get to explore more of the oblivion plane/s.
Topal Bay, with the coastal regions of Elsweyr, Blackmarsh and the southern Niben valley. Also Leyawiin. Cats, lizards and Imperials all in one place. A good place for another DB sanctuary. Aylied ruins. Sheogorath and Nocturnal's shrines. Moamer, sload, pirates, a fugitive dragon or two. All sorts of good stuff could be going on round there.
I feel that the next step needs to effectively be a new "Craglorn".
We've had Craglorn for some time now. For many this has provided a step up in difficulty in comparison to much of the other overland/delv/story content available, with an added focus on groups. All of which I have found most welcome and enjoyable.
Id like to see a new area with much the same purpose as Craglorn, but preferably with a further step up in difficult, a truly veteran overland experience, more difficult world, delv and dungeon bosses, with better mechanics requiring teamwork, more difficult group dungeons and arenas etc.
This would also be an ideal opportunity to implement 6 person group dungeons. A half way house between dungeons and trials.
I think the higher CP, vet and trial players need a new challenge.
PC - EU - France - AD
Main character: Qojikrin - Khajiit Sorcerer Tank/Stamina DD - since March 25, 2015.
Guildmaster of Oriflamme: Focus on 4 player endgame content.
Member of Brave Cat Trade, Panda Division and Toadhuggers.
I hope for a Cyrodiil chapter at last.
Either Colovia with the stunning Skingrad city and Sutch or the Nibenay Basin, Topal Bay and Blackwood zone with Leyawiin as a main hub.
Skingrad would be also perfect for a Vampire based side or main story.
Hammerfell...Hammerfell. It's time for the Redguard to get the shine. Plus, I would really love to explore more of the culture different between the Crowns and Forebears.
Ps: icing on the cake would be to have a sword- singer faction storyline
My bets:
- Skyrim (because of nostalgia, yes, game from 2011 is nowadays "old". Also since we have dragons with Elsweyr, making next chapetr in Skyrim would make sense to explain dragon dissaperance and tie it with the rest of tes games lore).
- Hamerfell (supppsedly, next Tes game, tes 6 will take place there. From a "buisness" perspective it would make sense to add this area to eso before tes 6 launch. Ppl will buy tes 6 anyway, but will they buy it as a chaper when they will have a "single player" version ? )
- Black Marsh (seeing how Murkmire dlc zone was executed, i have seen more & more ppl asking for a full chapter. Also, if you will look at original Murkmire concept, originally it was supposed to be a full zone just below Shadowfen. And from the look of original concept art it was supposed to be diverse - not all areas were swamps).
Solstheim imho is too small for a full chapter. Potentially it can be a WW / Vamp themed story DLC.
