Where Should The Next Elder Scrolls Chapter DLC Be Located? (After Elsweyr)

With Elsweyr coming out…
It’s really gotten me thinking about the possible future Chapter DLCs.



After Taking a look at the map.
I think there are three obvious choices.
As well as three less obvious choices.

1) Hammerfell
This is most likely the next location of a Chapter DLC.
The first chapter DLC was Morrowind (EP), The Second was Summerset (AD), and The Third is Elsweyr (AD). It would make sense for the next location to be DC themed.
It would probably be centered around Redguards and their desert homeland.
Potentially a lot of Yokudan/Ra Gada lore.

Personally I think this would be a very boring location, similar to lower craglorn/alik’r desert.
Lots of desert. Rather bland scenery.

2) Skyrim
This is one of my favorite locations, just because i think it has so much potential.
I doubt the Chapter DLC would encompass all that remains of Skyrim, as it is such a vast territory of land.
But it could be centered around Markarth, Whiterun, Solitude, or Dawnstar/Winterhold.
And would probably be centered around Nords and Draugr tombs.

I personally think the scenery would be pretty boring. But would absolutely love a trial based around the College of Winterhold.

3) Black Marsh
We’ve already seen a bit of what black marsh would look like.
It would probably be Argonian themed. Very similar to Shadowfen/Murkmire.
I’m not sure I’d be comfortable seeing the homeland of a free slave race.

4) Solstheim
This would be another nord themed location, as the Red Mountain has not erupted yet.
Would also probably be pretty boring, cold, and snowy.

5) Eastern Morrowind
I’m obviously a bit biased towards this one.
The eastern half of morrowind is home to the Telvanni and it would be interesting to see some of their mainland settlements.
However, I highly doubt this will be coming out for many years. As they just did a big dunmer year with Clockwork City and Vvardenfell.

6) Akavir
I think this one is the least likely to occur, at least until the rest of the map of tamriel is fleshed out.
However, I think this would be the most interesting location.
It could revolve around the Akaviri (potentially extinct?) and the Tsaesci and the lore surrounding them.
I think this could be a really fun location for the Elder Scrolls, and would give the writers/developers a lot of leeway in where they want to take the story. As this is pretty much uncharted territory.
Heck we could even get a new race or two with this DLC.

I have a gut feeling we will see Solstheim within the next two years.

Right, just pieces. I'd like to go back and see the whole place, a la Oblivion.

Speaking of Oblivion, it'd be nice to wander around Colovia again. Sans PvP, of course. Nostalgia ftw.

Akavir, a whole new world of possibilities... and snake men...

From what little we know about The Elder Scrolls VI, it would probably take place in Hammerfell so I don't see an expansion for that in ESO for a while.

Akavir would be a great expansion, a visit to that continent is LONG OVERDUE...It'd also be a perfect opportunity for Beth/ZOS to introduce the first new playable race since Morrowind!

It seems Whiterun is not far away. The signs are there and it perfectly fits into the current dragon theme. It's safe to say, that the entire dragon situation won't end with Elsweyr. So we could be sent to Whiterun Hold to find some informations perhaps or a way to deal with them.

I think Skyrim could potentially be 3 chapters with The Pale and Winterhold together, Hjaalmarch with Whiterun and Falkreath, Haafingar and The Reach together.

The West Weald/Colovia is my second choice and Hammerfell would be my third choice.

I really would like to get all of Tamriel before expanding to the rest of Nirn or the Planes of Oblivion.

I would say it is about time to have Dawnguard DLC, I mean they were founded in 2nd ERA which is now, and vamps kinda need an update, so my guess is Riften update and possibly some more Skyrim.

Well I voted for more Dunmer content cause I love them tho

I expect Zos has already answered this. I expect the preliminary work as already begun since it probably takes more than a few months from start to finish.

Oh, I would absolutely love this! I know some didn't care for it, but Dawnguard was my favorite Skyrim expansion, even though I never play vampires in Skyrim.

Being me, Redguards are my fav race FOREVER. So, I want Hammerfell. Seriously. This is in spite of the fact that IRL I have lived in the desert all my life (since age 11 - so 60 years damnit!) and hated every minute of it. But in TES, I love Redguards, I love Hammerfell, and I LOVE being immersed in the lore.

Riverwood/Whiterun with an unblocked path to High Hrothgar, maybe as a trial? They'd know how to deal with dragons. Perhaps Cloud Ruler could drop and we could ask the Blades?

I can't wait for Skyrim, but they do love anniversaries at ZoS so I'm saying 2021 for that too, that will be the year of Skyrim. However, if I'm wrong and it's next I won't be complaining!

The Shivering Isles please, with a mad dungeon/trial where the main boss is a giant chicken!

I mean, just zoom in and look at the detail of the chicken pet we just got this month!

We also need to see the rest half of Elsweyr, since we just get half in this DLC "Expansion".

Hammerfell definitely the most likely... and I disagree the desert is bland, they can make it beautiful and stark. Bethesda has done well with beautiful stark landscapes in FO and Skyrim. Besides, there is really some amazing lore that comes from this land that could be fleshed out really well.

My personal wish would be Akavir, but I agree it is highly unlikely ...yet. Tang Mo

I saw a few people mention the Shivering Isles and I think that's a FANTASTIC idea!

I personally would like to see Skingrad in ESO (Skingrad is a major city in the area between The Gold Coast and Cyrodiil).
Skingrad was a massive city in TES:Oblivion, and Skingrad has a lot of history/lore, including the 2nd era of ESO's time period.
Skingrad would be a nice zone-sized DLC like Murkmire and Clockwork City. But for a Chapter, which is much larger, I would like to see more of Skyrim.
