I’ll start by saying that I’m really enjoying this fight, and the entire trial. I just have a few comments about specifically the part of the fight where 3 people must enter the portals and defeat the mini-boss.
Last week, completing this part of the fight was challenging, but fair. Something seems to have changed in Monday’s patch 5.0.1. Possibly more damage in general, or an increase in the rate mechanics are happening in this phase. One specific combination that we are having trouble dealing with is the phase where 2 people are pinned with bolts, and the third needs to interrupt the boss and unpin their allies. We’ve started getting call lightning during this phase, which kills the pinned people nearly instantly. Last week there was a delay between pins going out and when call lightning started (luck? Or a change in timers). Now it seems like need to burn the boss before the double pin (doable, but nearly doubles the DPS minimum the fight previously had), or lose allies (which is very hard to recover from since rezzing is nearly impossible with call lightning unless you have a Necromancer ultimate).
The other factor that plays into this is the inability to get help from the rest of the group. In Rakkhat “backroom”, Pinnacle “upstairs” and Z’Maja “portal” if an individual died they could call for a backup and someone else from the group could replace them, and possibly avoid the group wipe. This is not an option here, since the portals disappear (well actually seem a little buggy currently, but I think they are supposed to disappear). And since the double pin mechanic will wipe the downstairs group of all 3 people are not alive, leading to a wipe of the entire group, the design of this encounter is very unforgiving to a single weak link. Maybe that is the intent, but IMO it doesn’t encourage teamwork as well as the similar encounters in other trials, where we can adapt and help each other.
