It's all about luck. I spent nearly the same on Reaper crate but only got one Radiant apex..

thats only 1000 or 600 eur depending if you bought at full or 40% off :*

Yep, not crazy expensive..it is acceptable..

Hm.. seems like you are able to find happiness in ESO than $$$$

What is $$$ for? For bringing you happiness right? If I couldn't find any happiness in ESO then why would I play it and spend $$$ for it.

$$$ is not happiness itself by just sitting in your pocket, you need to spend it to find your own happiness🙊

Geez let the man spend his money however he wants, for all u know he may be rich af lol

    Gratz OP! :)

Don't care that he spends his money in a game. I just hate someone keeping the gambling boxes profitable like that. If he had spend $1000 to directly buy those mounts I wouldn't give a hoot, it's his money. But this predatory behaviour by companies to exploit gambling sensitive people is just low.

If you give the radiant apex mount to people who curse at OP in this thread they will probably make bragging posts and ride them in deshaan to show off.

If they don't get the RAs - then people who got them must have gambling / stupid / crazy / mental problems.

Just leave OP alone and send congrats if you want. No need to be such toxic or keep sucking the lemon jelly hard.

Does it sit well with you that a video game company allows someone, regardless if financially able or not or even if legally able or not, to go into a website, swipe a card and, during the course of a single day, perform 3 different transactions totalling over 10 times the full retail price of a video game, chasing a high that happens to be linked to a minuscule chance of getting a specific thing? Another way of putting this number into perspective is that it pays for ESO for 5+ years. And you can do this all over again the quarter, month or even minute.

There are people in the player base that have serious concerns about the business model of cash shop overall, and the gambling aspects of lootboxes in particular. I'm one of those people and I will participate in any thread concerning these topics, especially the ones where the whole system is being praised. Not to have a go at OP, of course, it rarely is if you scroll up and read the comments.

If these justice fighters are so concerned with "gambling" or "the right business model" they should run to Vegas and smash all the casinos. Guess what? They feel much safer cowering in their room, sitting behind their computer and smashing their keyboards to attack people they don't know.

I simply respect what others choose to do / spend to make themselves happy. But these internet justice fighers are just acting like mobs trying to burn everyone alive, if they don't live with their value.

    It's a lot of money--more than I would spend--buuuuuut...

I spend a ton of money on other hobbies (and have a kid, and am paying for my wife to finish college, etc. etc.).

If I was single, had a good source of income, and ESO was my main hobby, I don't actually think it's an absurd amount of money. I've dropped a thousand bucks in a month on my main hobby and didn't blink, and I'm hardly well-off. To each their own. /shrug

I'm totally fine with casinos, because the alternative of unregulated, underground gambling is far worse that having those around. Does that mean that we should be ok with the same practice in videogames? No, it does not.

Also, If that means getting on a post about feeling good or grateful about the system and *** on someone's parade, so be it. Just bear in mind that this is not about the OP, but rather ZOS; there is no burning of people here, so if you can keep the hyperbolic emotional arguments to a minimum that would be great.

It reminds me one guy who has bought ESO exclusively for housing and then he has bought all furniture packs and he sold crowns to buy furniture from guild vendors. After one week his end-game house was done, 3 people have visited it and they said "nice" and that's it - this guy has burned 1k $ just to hear "nice" from a couple of people in the internet xD

I think that this is some form of acceptance seeking. Now think that there is more people like this and you will realise why bug fixes, performance and balance are not priority - crown store is ;-)

The part that sucks is it incentivizes putting all the cool *** in loot boxes instead of the actual game. SWTOR did the same thing and look how that turned out. Why on earth would they put anything great in the actual game when they have people like this who are willing to drop a grand in one day? I’m all for supporting the game but in this case it actually hurts in the long term IMO.

It was my comment that was removed. Obsessive gambling and OCD is a mental disorder and apparently we aren't allowed to talk about the abuse people endure by companies who take advantage of those with these disorders.

There was absolutely zero bashing in my post towards the OP, rather it was the bashing of unethical business practices.

The point is, they take advantage of people. Period. And going as far as to censoring the conversation of this abuse is sad.

Congrats on the skins, I have this kind of unnatural crave too but it's mostly for items in the game. Just last night I got the Trinimac Medium style set I've been wanting for a while now and my cravings have calmed down. But your crave is overboard, and honestly I would consult the gambling addiction hotline if you are running low on funds or sacrificing too much.

I feel this behavior is abusive to yourself, you spent a whopping $1300 for pixels, you can pretty much buy all the legendaries in the black market with that money on Guild Wars. You can always have people buy you crowns for skins you want to buy. Actually I think the skin model is fair since it works like Guild Wars 2.

I always compare this game's cash shop and practices with Guild Wars since it's practically the same concept only that the benefactors are different. Don't get me wrong I like ZOS's service because everyone wins in the end, the difference between Guild Wars and this is that they have Black Lion chests and we have crown boxes. You can always ask someone to buy crown stuff for you in exchange for gold, from what I hear it's not against ToS and you can go this route if you'd like. But damn man I feel like you paid for a quarter of the company's Network subscription, and of course anything that pays ZOS pays for better content in the future, so thanks for making the game better.

Also a question I have is can't you get these mounts in exchange for stuff from the Gems list?

Good Friday was good, really good, super good. I caught all 3 Radiant Apex mounts on last Good Friday. Previously I tried sooo hard to get the plague husk horse but I didn't have the luck to get it, I think ZOS finally showed their mercy so that I finally got the Solar horse, which I think has a better look than the plague husk horse( I still want that damn green horse, i truely want)!
      lrFcTVg.jpg
Ok, so on last Good Friday, I logged in to ESO and tried to get some benefits from the discounted crown packs, I purchased 5x21000 packs in the morning then bought 120 crates and opened all of them in one go, but the result was bad, ZERO R.A mounts. I didn't give up, logged in with my lucky Argonian Templar( I got the purple Psijic horse on that character), and this time I tried to open every 15 crates in one go and then purchase another 15 and repeat. Wow that was magick the first round in the 3rd crate I got the frost senche. Then I logged into another character and spent all the rest of crowns but didn't get another R.A mount, I decided to take a break.

After lunch, I went back to my lucky Argonian Templar again, purchased another 3x21000 Crown packs( The reasult in the morning: 100000 crowns=1x frost senche), in the 2nd round of 15 crate, I got the storm wolf.....Damn..........MY GOAL IS THAT BURING SHINNY GOLDEN SOLAR HORSE~~~~~Im not gonna give up!!

After spending all the crowns left, I decided to purchase one more 21000 pack and give it one last go.. It is miracle,,, the first round in the 2nd or 3rd crate I finally got the Solar horse!!!!!!!
Even though I called my favorite Argonian Templar the lucky one, but the real lucky people are those who got the R.A mount from free crates!!! They made me jealouse!!!

Ok, now it's the $1 animal feeding time, anyone?

      8bbY3tT.jpg

Flexing digital objects has the be the lowest of the low.

why would it be different than flexing real objects?

You know what is the lowest of the low? Hating on another ones pleasure for no reason...even more so when his pleasure is supporting your free pleasure

It's not different flexing material objects on people is still low just flexing digital objects that have no real world value is funny low.

      >Using the word hating to describe my smug remark
      Grow up

      >He supports your free pleasure
What are you talking about? I paid for the game and I pay for plus, on top of that you don't know how much I've spent on crowns. Could be more or less then this person I wasn't telling them how to spend there money but it was very obvious by the post he is trying to justify the large amount of money he spent on crowns and satisfy his ego.

It's cool the OP is happy with what they got from the crates but... this is what's wrong with gaming these days. If no one would give companies these amounts of money to try their luck with rng there would be no cash shops and maybe games would still be made focused on the game rather than on cash shop.

Yet most of us are at faul and we still fail and fall for the cash shop allure and like to try our luck with crates and other stupid stuff, they do a pretty good job at convincing us we need the shinny stuff from the shop. SAD!

Enjoy your stuff, OP. People on the forums typically disapprove of spending crowns in general, I think they feel more strongly about crown crates because of the gambling aspect. If you're a grown, responsible adult and it's your money, spend it on whatever you want. If you get enjoyment out of something, it doesn't harm others and it doesn't cause you hardship, I don't see a problem. I've opened multiple crown crates every season but haven't gotten a radiant apex. I'd be happy too, if I got one. Granted, I have not & won't spend anywhere near the same amount of crowns on gamble boxes as you have, but the chance everytime you open a box is the same. I'm not more likely to get a radiant apex mount by opening 1000 vs 5. That's the reason I always have a set amount I'm willing to open: no guarantee for a drop (ex. like in Apex Legends, after 500 boxes you have a guaranteed heirloom set drop which is the rarest thing like the radiant apex) and there's no visible % drop rate chance (ex. 2% for a legendary) like in other loot boxes. I do spend a lot of crowns on housing & cosmetics, and I spend even more on other hobbies IRL. As far as hobbies go, video games (particularly MMOs) are pretty cheap for dollar per hour spent.

They aren't for responsible adults who know how to spend their money, they are implemented to take advantage of impulsive and addictive personalities. It's literally gambling.
