This is the official feedback thread for the new houses and furnishings. Please note many of the new furnishings are still being implemented. Hall of the Lunar Champion will be available to test starting on the first week, and Jode’s Embrace will be available starting the second week. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • What are your general thoughts on new house, Hall of the Lunar Champion?
  • Was it clear how to acquire and unlock an additional wing of this home through main quest participation?
  • What are your thoughts on the new Furnishing Pack bundles in the Crown Store?
  • What do you think of the Achievement furnishings and new furnishings in the Housing Editor?
  • Do you have any other general feedback?

@ZOS_ChipHilseberg @ZOS_BobbyWeir @ZOS_GinaBruno Hi  A quick comment about the Iron Atronach Target Dummy: the buffs that it provides are comprehensive, which is awesome; but, my guess is that some players will take issue when they realize that the buffs have 100% up time.

If the buffs were granted periodically (such as every 10 seconds) and if they were tagged as "Cast by Player," then I could write a quick UI into Essential Housing Tools to allow players to configure maximum up times on a per-buff basis. Right now though, I cannot manage the buffs granted by the target dummy with the CancelBuff( integer buffIndex ) method because those buffs are not flagged as "Cast by Player."

Let me know if I can help!

Are we not supposed to go into the Jode’s Embrace home at all? It's possible, but it doesn't feel like we're supposed to.

What are your general thoughts on new house, Hall of the Lunar Champion?
It's cool that people will be able to earn it! It doesn't currently feel like much of a home yet. I'm hoping the pads on the outside will be able to directly take you to the next wings. That would be for the best to minimize backtracking through the hall.

The environment of the Halls of Colossus is stunning! It starts to feel small when you start to try to explore it. It would be nice to be able to remove the four standalone pillars since they'll mostly be in the way. The invisible walls over the water are way closer than I imagined. If these walls can be extended out even a bit, please do so; otherwise, the whole water area feels like a big tease. The waterfall to the NW is incomplete.

I feel like each of the wings ought to have its own furnishing limit caps. People are going to be salty when the next wing is released and they have to take down everything.

Was it clear how to acquire and unlock an additional wing of this home through main quest participation?

As collectible furnishings, the Honoring the Lunar Champion and TEMP:Khunzar-ri and the Betrayal are nonintuitively categorized as Library > Literature. It would be more consistent to be under under Gallery > Display or some other Gallery subcategory. It would be best to keep the collectible furnishings that can be placed in every home limited to a small number of categories (currently only Services, Gallery, Mounts, and Non-Combat Pets).

I appreciated that the tablet placement wasn't too picky. Having the word "tablet" in the item names would make it easier to locate these from the Housing Editor.

What are your thoughts on the new Furnishing Pack bundles in the Crown Store?

The Moons-Blessed fountain is amazing! The effect should probably be "Moons-Blessed" instead of "Moon-Blessed" for consistency. The new plants have great shapes and colors!

The Moon Bishop's Sanctuary pack would benefit from some animated lights--something like glowing Dro-m'Athra orbs. Other than the target Dro-m'Athra, there's not much else to catch the eye, though I love the filled wine racks and bookcases.

The braziers and carpets have weirdly low-quality textures even on Ultra-High graphics, which is a shame since they otherwise have fun designs and colors. Hopefully that can be tweaked.

What do you think of the Achievement furnishings and new furnishings in the Housing Editor?

MOON GATE!!! Great job with that one.

The Lookestiiz and Yolnahkriin statues would make much, much better furnishings without the background discs. It would be fantastic if they could be separated.

Most of the new Elsweyr furnishings haven't been added to the Crown Store--that would be helpful.

The new trial-buffed atronach is fun. The buffs are probably too generous compared to reality, which may set bad expectations for when people head into trials.

Do you have any other general feedback?
It would help a ton to be able to search by NEW furnishings in the Purchase tab.

Overall, housing is not much improved with Elsweyr. Adding more furnishings without more ways to store them really limits my desire to buy them in the first place.

The houses on this Chapter are truly amazing.
I think the concept behind Lunar Champion house is brilliant.
Yes it was clear how to obtain and expand this house in future dlc.
BUT... one suggestion please. Can you please consider having each section of this house have its own separate item limit. This is one of the best opportunities for you to introduce a house with different load cell areas. You already have to go through a load screen to transport through the first portal. If we are going to have to go through a load screen anyway, why not give it a separate item limit?? I think people will struggle to decorate all four sections of this house with 700 slots.

Jode's Embrace is one of the best layouts you guys have done. I love this home. Beautiful artwork and great proportions. Not excessively big like other homes. I just hope this house comes with a MINIMUM of 600 slots.

The new furnishing items so far are really good. Brilliant plants and statues. When I saw the interactable door and frame I literally shouted (and nearly gave my wife a heart attack) with uncontainable excitement.

I cant wait to see the rest of the furniture items over the coming weeks. There are some really great structural assets in this chapter like floors, walls and stairs.... PLEASE add these over the PTS cycles.

One other piece of feedback. Both the Lunar Champion house and Jode's Embrace are large homes and the inn room is tiny. It has been suggested many times to bring in more medium size homes. Many, many people have asked for this. Walking through Riverhold (and indeed other parts of Elsweyr) there are many medium homes which are locked up and inaccessible. I think it would be a wasted opportunity to not make one of these medium homes available in the near future. Please consider this.

    Hello !
I hope that my remarks will be understandable because I am French and it is a little difficult for me to express myself in English correctly.

I will make further comments next week, but here are my first impressions.

I love the new furniture and the part of the new houses I have seen is very exciting.

Cushions, beds, screens, carpets ... are beautiful. Some plants are very beautiful.
The bottle holders filled with bottles is a very good idea!
I love all the new furniture on the theme of fabric (displays, buckets for washing clothes ...)

The Achievement furnishings is overall very exciting even if I have some remarks to make about the usefulness or the rendering of some of them.

The most interesting from my point of view are :

    Akaviri Table, Stone
    Cage, Small Animal
    Column, Fatal Warning
    Door, Akatosh Chancel
Map of Elsweyr (we need more maps !!!) although this one is all black, for the moment ...
    Moon Gate (huge!)
Stone Moons projection (interesting but the rendering is a bit kitschy)
Replica Dragon Horn (especially the big one)
    Tojay-Raht Statue Monk

Those who are useless from my point of view :

    Barrel, Riverhold
    Crate, Riverhold
Khajiit Lion Crest (almost the same as the Breton one !)

The first problem I have encountered is that some furniture has a very vague and ill-defined appearance. They are pixelated and this is very disappointing. I had the same problem with a redgard armchair.
    190416080346645598.png
    190416080424799700.png

    The "bad one"
    190416080411741302.png

    Some good looking one !
    190416080435798234.png

The furniture in the foreground appears blurry while those in the background are better defined (sharp outlines...)
It's a shame because these new furniture is beautiful but the quality of image waste everything.

    190416080156308346.jpg
    190416080206503881.jpg

This defect cancels my desire to own some furniture : when they are blurry, I do not buy them, I do not learn them, I do not craft them.

Khajiit only briefly looked at a house before she was booted out without permission back to Rimmen.

This one hopes beyond hope that perhaps there might be some small home in the sugar farming area to the south - most pretty please!

Even if not this one will just turn up there every night and sleep on the floor.

It won't let me preview the House of the Lunar Champion. I tried three times, and it crashed me out to the character select menu every time. It wouldn't even let me get into the house even briefly. I crashed just trying to go through the door, every time.

    I was playing on PC.

*Edit* This happened when I walked up to the door and tried to directly enter that way, not through the map. I had already acquired the free room.

I went inside the Hall of the Lunar Champion just fine the first time, and placed the tablets, everything working normally.

However, then I went to get the free inn room in Rimmen, and upon entering that one I got stuck in an infinite loading screen.
Now, when I try to log in that character, it says she's in the Hall of the Lunar Champion, but gets stuck in the Request Character Load screen indefinitely.

This has also happened to me, I have deleted that character but I still can't access the house on any of my characters?

As a house decorating fanatic I totally snuck into Jode's Embrace and, while I loved what I saw, please, please move the portal stone in the house some place where it doesn't interfere with decorating. Back in a little cove or something. Right now, it's sitting atop the perfect spot for a throne -- like it owns the place. But it doesn't own the place -- I will. And I want to sit there.

What are your general thoughts on new house, Hall of the Lunar Champion??

Being able to earn a house through the quest line was a really nice addition. I look forward to earning it in live. Once I got into the house, it took me forever to find the collectible furnishings for it (lunar & betrayal) when I wanted to place it in the house. I expected it to be under gallery as the tip on the item in my collections just says "furniture" and "collectibles". Maybe add library to the tip on the right top of it in the collections menu?

What are your thoughts on the new Furnishing Pack bundles in the Crown Store?

I loved the moons blessed pack with the fountain, new plant life and statues. I also love the new general theme/look of the Elsweyr houses and furniture. The Bishop moon pack I couldn't tell the difference between lit and extinguished on Ceremonial Lanterns, Jode.

What do you think of the Achievement furnishings and new furnishings in the Housing Editor?

I haven't done the story line as I don't want the spoilers but the achievement furnishings look awesome at the vendor. Home vendor new plants and rocks are great. I love the colour variety. I think they will go well with the murkmire home vendor furnishings. I loved the wagon wheel and dragonfire vines, I have several ideas for those already!

Do you have any other general feedback?

Is there a plan to put the Summerset furnishing plans on the Master Writ Vendor like Morrowwind plans were when Summerset came out? As a casual player, it would be really nice to get some of the plans that are just to rare for me to buy/farm. I pre-purchased summerset but didn't play it right away, as I was still finishing Vvardenfall and some of the dlc's. By the time I got to it, the plan drop rate was diminished and it felt like I was being punished for being slow out the gate. I hope this doesn't happen in Elsewyr, as I am still finishing Summerset!

Edit* also more furnishings like "scuttleblooms", housing items/pets obtained from collecting stuff in the world (crafting nodes, fishing, pickpocket/killing) recipes like with artaeum. These things that are obtained in different ways encouraging people to go out and hunt to get them.

    • What are your general thoughts on new house, Hall of the Lunar Champion?
I don't really care for it to be honest. I don't see much use for it other than to store crap I can't fit in my other homes. When I'm looking for a home in game, I want something that I can actually furnish and will look nice.
This one is basically just a doorway to pretty scenery from important events in the Elsweyr storyline.

I much preferred the Jode's Embrace home.

    • Was it clear how to acquire and unlock an additional wing of this home through main quest participation?
After a little looking around, yes.

    • What are your thoughts on the new Furnishing Pack bundles in the Crown Store?
To be honest. I'm completely disappointed by the pure monitization of housing. It's making me like it less and less. The very fact that I have yet to come across or see any Elsweyr furnishing recipes drop in game is troubling.
Much does need to be done to fix the low resolution/pixilation of a good number of the new items. - folded cloth, cloth roles, spices, bunched veggie pile.

    • What do you think of the Achievement furnishings and new furnishings in the Housing Editor?
There were no new furnishing in the Housing Editor for Elsweyr. They were all Murkmire and New Life Festival furnishing. Perhaps this was an oversight that will get fixed next pts update.

As for the available Achievement furnishings. I suggest that they are available by doing the normal mode for Sunspire.

    • Do you have any other general feedback?
There needs to be a trade off for the monitization of the housing aspect of this game. Players have specific needs we would like to see and would like to play around with and we are having a hard time with the fact many options are not available to us.
      Such as:

      - More Housing Slots!!! Even if only by 100 right now to see how the server load handles things. That, or make the Inside and Outside of homes two separate load instances with separate item limits.

      - Buyable walls and floors for homes in each of the homes different styles

      - More clutter items pre-made as one item. Example: More filled bookcases in ALL styles. The bunch of veggies is a really good start, but you need to fix the graphics on those. More plates and bowls with food in/on them.

      - Outside fencing, like we see in a few of the farms in Elsweyr and other places.

      - Proper Stables that can be purchased separately. Like the ones in the Breton/Daggerfall noteable home. Or like the new stables in Elsweyr. Yes, we want to be able to purchase (for a reasonable price) big items like that for our homes.

      - We need more homes. There are a lot of buildings in Elsweyr and other places in Tamriel that are empty and locked off. It would be really nice to have these opened up and made player homes. It would give players a much wider variety to suit their styles and in each region.

      - The Master Writ Merchants need to be updated with new furniture offerings. Hopefully the Achievement furnishing lady will also have Alinor and Clockwork City recipes for sale as she does the Morrowind ones.

      - There are a lot of new furnishing I see being used in Elsweyr that I'm hoping are going to be available as recipes. I've been taking pics throughout my travels and hope to see them in the next update.

Now that the items have been added to the housing purchasing tab I have a few comments.

The texture quality on quite a few items is still too low. Hopefully these will be fixed before launch, otherwise all that furniture will be useless.
Love the new building materials and styles of furniture.
It's great we can buy the sand rings, but is there any chance we could get the large sand plane from Jodes Embrace to go with it? Otherwise there's very few places we could put them and it would never look as good.
There's a texture issue in Lunar Champion's first extension, the grass borders have the missing texture, texture.

Overall tl;dr feedback: there is a lighting crisis in Elsweyr which ruins every single house that was added which needs fixing asap, some new furniture look incedibly faded and/or low-rez, otherwise things are good. Details below.

    1) What are your general thoughts on new house, Hall of the Lunar Champion? Was it clear how to acquire and unlock?
Unlocking a house via gameplay is a welcome feature just like the Psijic Villa was, great to see this direction. Expandable wings is a unique concept, well implemented and we were clearly informed how to do it. I'd be interested in seeing the other two wings, because so far I'm concerned that there won't be enough slots to fill 3 wings. The base hall alone is larger than some medium sized homes, nevermind the Halls of the Colossus plateau and the two other upcoming extensions... I know furniture slot limits are a recurring complaint (for a reason), so here it is again, sorry. The furniture limit concern applies to Jode's Embrace too.

    2) What are your thoughts on the new Furnishing Pack bundles in the Crown Store?
Nice, although I expected to see at least some statues as craftable furnishings or as writ voucher schematics... so far the vast majority of Elsweyr statues seem to be crown-store-furniture-pack-exclusives, which isn't good. Adding a few exclusive furniture into a furniture pack is okay (e.g. Hubalajad's statue was exclusive to the pack, the Ra Gada animal statues are purchasable separately via house editor as well, and the rest of the redguard furniture are craftable), but putting almost all Khajiit statues as pack exclusives is too much, hope that changes.

    3) What do you think of the Achievement furnishings and new furnishings in the Housing Editor?
Achievement furniture look exciting, with good effects, which is a great motivation to do achievements and get gold to display such impressive pieces! They are unique and impressive, exactly what I would expect from a proud achievement furnishing piece. The new furnishings in the housing editor however...

Furnishing Pros: Overall, good job!
    - New structural pieces, we always ask for more ways to build, so the walls/platforms/bridges are great to see.
    - Great design on most Elsweyr furniture, with a really distinct style.
    - The knick-knacks and kitchen pieces are great ideas with a lot of Elsweyr character and fill a lot of niches (e.g. hand-held mirrors, brushes).

Furnishing Cons: quality and contrast could be improved.
    - A lot of the wooden furniture look dull. It would be nice if you could up the contrast or recolour these to improve the quality, and match the better designed more distinct Elsweyr pieces that you have proven you can totally do!
The colour scheme on some wooden furniture is almost non-existent, being the same uniform washed out yellow. Khajiit have been using opulent gilded furniture and warm tones, so these pale blobs aren't in line with the splendor of their homeland. Some new furniture are better than others, with a warmer wood shade and contrasting colours, but the pale ones are an eyesore. Just look through the furniture again in quality control please, and you'll immediately see which ones I mean. Even the elaborate carvings that are on them are entirely lost because they blend into a monotonous smudge, which is a shame.
    - Some items appear quite low-rez. It doesn't help when this happens on items that are already pale and drab as described above, which makes them even more smudged.
    - New lights aren't bright enough to illuminate the houses. This is made worse by the incredibly tall ceilings and a lack of chandeliers or other bright light sources. More on this below.

    4) Do you have any other general feedback?
Lighting is a huge problem in Elsweyr to the point where it could ruin all buildings if not fixed! :worried: For starters, the windows on the Elsweyr homes don't work. Even with the sun shining brightly outside during daytime, the windows let no light through.
Example: The Sugar Bowl inn room has one sad window next to the door that seems to be brighter during daytime, but the other three are in perpetual darkness. And in any case, there isn't any light coming through the window, even if it 'looks' like it should be illuminated. Walk into the actual inn as well, and other Elsweyr buildings in the city, they are all painfully dark.

This results in the buildings losing out on colour. Elsweyr houses are already pretty low-contrast, with varying shades of yellow and pale brown, with only the occasionall patch of washed-out red or orange, or the low-saturation greens breaking through the monotonous colour palette. Add a lack of lighting to this and all buildings suddenly get a dark dank basement vibe instead of the opulent exotic comfort than an inn in Elsweyr should display (which is the vibe that the exteriors do absolutely give off, and which the elaborate furniture are trying to give off, when they aren't ill-coloured or fading into the ill-lit background).
For an example, and to judge for yourself whether you agree with my assessment, please examine the inn's interior, then walk into the inn housing and place a Clockwork Illuminator into the celining, and compare how the colours suddenly pop, how the details on the woodwork are suddenly distinct and how the warm tones seem to flourish under the light. I'd strongly make the case that the well-lit interior is how Elsweyr is supposed to be, and personally think that the interior lighting in Elsweyr buildings need to be changed.
The darkness makes it straining to look at Elsweyr interiors and fails to give the furniture their proper due by concealing and ereasing most of their colours and details.

An added problem is the size of the new houses, especially the ceiling of Jode's Embrace. With the windows providing no illumination, the house has to be lit with lighting furniture (adding to the furniture limit problem, in which just like the Princely Dawnlight Palace, one needs to waste an overwhelming proportion of furniture slots to counter the ill-lit grand open spaces of the interior). Furniture slots aside, the lighting furniture are not capable of illuminating such a grand interior, once again showing that the limitations of the furniture system were not taken into account when designing these grand palaces. How are we expected to light up the roofed celiing of Jode's Embrace with normal light furnishings? This isn't me being sassy, I'm genuinely curious and worried about yet another house falling short because of its size and darkness.
I tried hanging Clockwork Illuminator, Capsule Chandeliers onto the ceiling, but even that didn't work. That's one of the few lamps in game that give off a decent brightness, and it's a crown exclusive to boot. But not only did it ruin the interior of the Elsweyr house by clashing terribly with the aesthetic and looking out of place, it still wasn't capable of lighting up the throne room. I tried sinking it all around into the walls and the floor, but the central darkness remained unresolved. Hanging hooks on the wall and lanters do nothing, since most light items are incredibly limited in their small area of illumination. Like, really, what are we supposed to do? Hang a string of crown-exclusive CWC fururistic chandeliers off of eachother in several multi-level lightpost columns just to make the space inhabitable? Purchase dozens of luxury furnishing culanda stones that are no longer available due to their limied time, and stud them across every available surface making the house look like a yellow crytal-studded hedgehog?
We need more lighting items, and especially bigger and more varied lighting items with intense brightness to counter the ginormous dark interiors we keep getting in the oversized manors.

I don't know if anyone bothered to read this, I tried to add bold for emphasis on the most important points, and tried to put the details behind spoiler tags to not waste as much space in the main post. But if anybody reads this, please, the main takeaway is the tl;dr version that while many aspects of housing in Elsweyr are great, the lighting is a huge issue that needs to be fixed and some furniture fall short of the standard of quality that others have.

I do have some general feedback. Not for the Hall of the Lunar Champion, but Jode's Embrace.

Jode's Embrace is a beautiful home...from the outside. When you go inside, the upper floor doesn't have any rooms above the first floor antechambers, and there is no way to access the balcony, rendering it entirely pointless.

When I look at a home like the Alinor Crest Townhouse, the design and the layout are absolutely incredible. It feels like an opulent and well-accommodated living space.
Grand Psijic Villa has a huge main hall with two balconies, two antechambers with high ceilings, two upper rooms accessed via doorways, and a very spacious catacomb in the back.
Even Tel Galen, for it's somewhat polarizing exterior, has a well-designed interior with a large main hall, three antechambers, and then an upper tower room.
But Jode's Embrace? An entrance hall, two antechambers with alternate entrances, and a large upper hall. Meaning that you are confined to mostly the lower floor, the upper floor interior does NOT match the exterior of the house, and the balcony you see on the outside is inaccessible without some extreme and unnecessary customization that takes up more of those precious 350/700 slots.

I like having more than just four rooms (not counting the other realm through the portal, just talking about the house itself; personally, I don't think having that portal to another realm makes up for the lack of interior living space), I like having a balcony I can actually reach. I would say "Especially if it's a manor home.", but the interior of Mathiisen Manor (which is a large home and not a manor) even has a bigger interior than Jode's Embrace.
And the issue may seem big, but it doesn't seem that difficult to see how to fix it. Just create two doors leading to rooms on the left and right of the second floor, and then giving each of those rooms a door to that beautiful balcony. That would give the home those two second-floor rooms that should be there AND a way to get to the balcony. And I'm not the only one who thinks these are genuine issues regarding Jode's Embrace.

So, in a nutshell, I think Jode's Embrace could do with two more rooms added via doors not just to add to the upper floor (maybe having the doors placed in that large upper hall), but also have a way of easily accessing that balcony. It's an absolutely beautiful house, and I just wish the interior didn't seem so limited. Or have an inaccessible balcony like Hakkvld's High Hall did. I feel like these are issues that should be addressed. Just my thoughts. I don't have any issues with that other realm, just with the second floor of the main building from a design perspective. Especially when compared to the other homes in the game.

What are your general thoughts on new house, Hall of the Lunar Champion?

I'm sure it'll be neat for some groups but as somone who keeps fruitlessly hoping you'll release more actual HOMES I have no interest in it.

Was it clear how to acquire and unlock an additional wing of this home through main quest participation?

N/A I did not bother to try due to low interest.

What are your thoughts on the new Furnishing Pack bundles in the Crown Store?

These are actually really nice and without a lot of junky "filler" items, which is appreciated. However, not knowing the PRICE you are going to be asking means I have to reserve judgement.

What do you think of the Achievement furnishings and new furnishings in the Housing Editor?

They are beautiful bit I am HUGELY DISAPPOINTED that so many of them suffer from low resolution. Seriously, how did this get past you guys? Did you just think we wouldn't notice? Is this going to be YET ANOTHER thing you ignore and allow to go to live despite all the feedback you are already getting?

Do you have any other general feedback?

I am also very disappointed in Jode's Embrace. Gorgeous on the outside, TOO HUGE and POORLY PLANNED on the inside. The whole thing is THREE ROOMS??? When it's so flippin' massive? Also incredibly dark and will be an item slot eating nightmare to light properly. Between that and the fact that I'd have to eat up a ton of slots attempting to create reasonable spaces this is YET ANOTHER "home" I'll likely be passing on. Have you not listened to the requests of your players AT ALL?

is it my imagination? i placed an Elsweyr Armchar, low-backed wooden in the outdoor area of the hall of lunar champion, sat down in it, and my character is cycling thru a dozen different emotions. happy, sad, concerned, angry, shifty-eyed paranoid. it's somewhat subtle, but i particularly noticed the scowl. i never noticed this with any other furniture in any other place. is there something in the story i missed about this chair. is there something else in the environment causing this?

is anyone else seeing this or is it just me?

What are your general thoughts on new house, Hall of the Lunar Champion?
I, for one, am incredibly happy to see a house that can be unlocked by questing. Most of the notable homes that have been released have been locked behind a $100 cost, so it's nice to see you throw a bone to those of us who don't want to spend exorbitant amounts of real money for a virtual home.
The design is...interesting, to say the least. It feels less like a home than an ancient temple of some sort (which is what it is, I believe. I haven't done the story yet.) and it seems like an odd choice to make into a home. I'm not sure how the Khajiiti people will feel about me using one of their holy places as an oversized storage closet for random furnishings while I finish my current housing projects.

Was it clear how to acquire and unlock an additional wing of this home through main quest participation?
I didn't even do the main quest, but the descriptions were pretty self-explanatory. I did struggle a bit to find them in the housing editor, as so many others have said, but we all figured it out eventually.

What are your thoughts on the new Furnishing Pack bundles in the Crown Store?
I personally don't have any interest in them. Maybe that's because I'm not hugely interested in Khajiit, to be honest, but I didn't feel like there were enough really unique items to make the packs worth the pricetag you'll undoubtedly be putting on them.
I think you'd make more money if you sold the parts individually at a slightly more reasonable price from the housing editor, actually. The slightly easier interface to go from there to placing the item into a home lends itself better to impulse buys for your microtransactions. I'm not buying either way because I'm just not interested in the product, but I'd have bought a lot more of your Vivec-themed stuff if I could have picked out the pieces I wanted that way.

What do you think of the Achievement furnishings and new furnishings in the Housing Editor?
I know it's been said a lot already, but the low-res textures absolutely kill a lot of the new furnishings. I almost feel like it's a bug where it's showing us the LOD texture instead of the full resolution one, as bad as it is. Whatever the case, I hope it gets fixed. I know I won't be using any of them, otherwise.
The achievement furnishings seem fine, though. I'm not crazy about the big shiny glowing dragons on the door, but having a door at all is a step in the right direction.

Do you have any other general feedback?
Could we please, please, please get more slots for housing? I might be a cheapass, but I'd pay real money for that.

Hi, I'm back (I as in the 'lighting NEEDS to be fixed' complaining person) and this time with pictures

The problem is basically that the lack of lighting ruins Elsweyr interiors (in non-player home buildings), and the large open spaces, bugged windows and lack of strong light furnishings make player homes also lackluster, by muddying the already tame brown Elsweyr colour palette and losing out on the majority of furnishing details.

    What Elsweyr promises to be:

This image shows the issue with the Sugar Bowl Suite. Top Left screenshot highlights how 3 of the 4 windows in this in room are bugged. They do not let any light in whatsoever during the day. Top Right screenshot shows that 1 window next to the door does 'light up' during the day but even that doesn't actually illuminate the room at all, it's permanently dark. Bottom Left is the loading screen image that I think captures exactly what an Elsweyr interior should be like, with bright colours and enough lifht. Bottom Right is my furnished version to show that adding proper lighting to the room would make the colours pop and help the furniture details stand out as they should.

    fnsz4yivyve3.png
This next image shows the more problematic issue, the actual Sugar Bowl inn that can't be 'fixed' by players putting furnishings in it. Top left shows an exterior shot of Elsweyr, which I think indicates that this zone is supposed to be exotic and lush with rich warm colours. Top Left and Bottom Right however are current interior shots of the inn, and you can barely see anything. This is supposed to be a cozy Elsweyr tavern, with jewelry-clad dancers and entertainers, musicians, luxurious furniture... but you can't see any of it. It looks like a storage basement and it's darker than Vvardenfell... Bottom Right is a furnished Sugar Bowl Suite inn room, just to show that more brightness in the interiors would prevent the intricacies of the NPCs and the objects from being lost as they currently are in most Elsweyr houses.

    sicw9ywwlunz.png
This final image is another example of lackluster Elsweyr interiors, this time from the palace. Top Left is the palace exterior, grand, majestic, etc. Top RIght is the palace interior... and you can barely make out any of the furniture. Bottom Left is an inside look at what Euraxia Tharn now looks like, afer having spent so many hours squinting her eyes in this dimly lit palace. Jokes aside, Bottom Right is me approximately recreating the palace room in Jode's Embrace, but this time with brighter lights that actually illuminate the room and the furniture. Wow, so there was a tapestry and some curatins there all along? Amazing!

Currently almost all Elsweyr interiors are incredibly dim, muddy and washed-out looking, and we can barely see any of the details and smaller furniture, so brightening them up as in the edited example would actually help a lot. It seems a shame that designers created these small intricate furnishings if we can't make them out in a room anyway. The few vibrant colours that Elsweyr has (on red tapestries, blue curtains etc.) are desperately needed in order to break from the muddy browns, and they should pop and freshen up the interiors with colours instead of fading into various shades of dark brown because everything is so dark.

That's just my opinion obviously, but I think the images speak for themselves and show that there is a clear disconnect between the vibrant exteriors and the drab dimness of the interiors, with the majority of design elements and details currently being lost. And while my colour and brightness-related complains may be up for personal taste, the windows that aren't illuminating properly during daylight hours as they should are clearly broken. Please please please don't let Elsweyr go live like this

Just one slightly odd thing this one has noticed since this last update.

There is a ground level platform at the base of the highest tower on Sugar Island (You call it Grand Topal something). The round platform that has an odd small square cut out of it for no obvious reason.

In real Tamriel this platform is solid. This one has plans to put plants there.

In Test Tamriel you fall/walk right through it.

This one was unable to test if this was in the previous build as our EU homes and businesses were not copied over until now.

Took this last night. Textures on the new Eslweyr furnishings are poorly defined, with pixellation and seams showing. My graphics settings are on high, so it's not that. A lot of Elsweyr furnishings are like this, we cant enjoy the ornate carvings because they all look like this

The textures seem fixed now mostly, which is good.

Just spent a while waiting for the dragon in Jode's Embrace. It was OK, but I think it would be better if it was more frequent, it takes longer to happen then you would ever be in the house and not in a menu. It would also be fantastic if the dragon occasionally landed on the wall, perched, then took off rarely.

Jode's Embrace also has a lot of inaccessible areas such as the middle of the outside of the house and the greenery and flowers behind the house.

As someone who loves dragons, I would definitely approve of more dragon sightings in Jode's Embrace.

And I forgot there were more inaccessible areas than just that balcony.
