PTS Update 22 - Feedback Thread for Housing & Furnishings

FEEDBACK FOR ORSINIUM EVENT AND RELATED FURNISHINGS:

For some very odd reason, the Orsinium event NPC sells plain craftable furniture for event tickets, while these can be crafted very easily in the game. What's even the purpose of selling these items via event tickets?
In the mean time, Orsinium is STILL lacking a large amount of furnishing items, despite being one of the game's oldest DLCs, even older than the housing and furnishing system itself.

Why are you giving us plain, craftable furniture for tickets, while ignoring these specialty items that the community has been asking for, for YEARS. And no, -one- new item per year in the luxury vendor isn't enough, especially when the new item often turns out to be some boring cr*p, or even worse, a duplicate of an already existing item.

And just in case you weren't aware of the items that I'm thinking of:

    New Elsweyr furnishings:
I'm happy that the textures of the new furniture are better now since the last patch. There are some that still are mushy left, the big braziers for example, but I think that that will be fixed when Elsweyr launches. :)

Do you have any other general feedback?
Yes. About the realisation of the idea of furniture at the impressaria's. And also about the master writ guy:

    At the Impressaria:

    - Assistant of the impressaria:
When I first saw the guy, my first thought was: Oh nice, he'll be what Faustina Curio is to Rolis Hlaalu - a chance to catch on missed older offers. But... no, he isn't, and that was puzzling me. He's just the holiday achivement furnisher.

Its a very good idea to place the holiday achivement furnisher at the impressarias tent. But why not put Heralda there? Perhaps you are planning to use him for other offers in the future.

---> Suggestion: add achievement furniture for events, not just for holidays like Heralda does. Especially the eso birthday cakes would be a great addition as furniture, and the assistant could offer those for event tickets.

---> Suggestion: you could make the holiday achievement furniture available for event tickets OR for gold (same as the Golden One in Cyrodiil offers her goods for gold or alliance points).

    - Orsinium furniture
I was really looking forward to see the orcish furnishings mentioned in the patch notes... but my visit at the impressaria was dissappointing. I was expecting unique other furniture. I can craft almost all of these, why should I waste event tickets on them?
I would be tempted to collect or even buy event tickets if you offered unique furniture for event tickets for the different zones/dlcs/chapters when its their celebration event. But stuff I can craft myself or buy in guild stores for gold I don't want to buy for event tickets.

---> Suggestion: give us desirable (orsinium/...) furniture that has not yet been available to us before. (And while we're at it: please update the luxury furnisher, give him an assistent, too. The new dlcs(/...) furnishings are nearly noneexistent with him, and thats a shame. It would be time for a new season of stuff, and the old stuff should reappear weekly at that new assistent of his.)

    New golden blueprints???
After each patch on PTS, I went to visit him with high hopes... but he offers no new golden furniture blueprints yet. There were new ones when Summerset launched, and when Murkmire launched. I'm kind of expecting there will be new ones when Elsweyr launches. But I have not heard about them yet, not seen them yet, and I hope you'll keep up that tradition. They were even a feature in the eso live show - so there's hope you spare it for that last patch before launch and perhaps a short show of them in eso live? ???

    Summerset Blueprints?
Will Faustina Curio offer Summerset Journeymen's or Master Furnisher's Documents when Elsweyr launches? It happened with Morrowind blueprints. But Summerset? She doesn't have any yet....

Wow...the furnishings they are offering for event tickets are just normal, base-game stuff that we can craft? WTF? I just don't get it. As mentioned, there are tons of furniture items they could have added, which would have been meaningful to get with event tickets. But regular furnishings. I can imagine players buying these only to discover at some later point that they wasted tickets on things they could easily buy for gold from another player.

I'm hoping these are placeholders? Or, perhaps they didn't want to offer exclusive furnishings that would compete with the Indrik items for our limited supply of tickets. They don't want to deal with complaints that there aren't enough tickets available to get all the exclusive items. So, these are just an alternative if you don't want to spend tickets on Indriks, but then you're basically wasting them on old Homestead items.

    A whole new chapter launches.

And Rolis Hlaalu has no new golden blueprints.

There were golden blueprints when Morrowind launched. When Summerset launched. They were even proudly shown in eso livestream.

No golden blueprints for Elsweyr. Not even a word.

    Why?

I can't seem to find the Target Iron Atronach in the furnishing store. As in it was there before this patch and is not there now.

I finally got on the PTS last weekend to take a look at the homes and some of the furnishings. While the furnishings were nice overall, I was extremely disappointed about the houses.

First, there are no medium/large homes to buy with gold. With Morrowind, we got both a medium and a large home. With Summerset, we only got a large home. With Elsweyr, we don't get anything other than the inn room - which is smaller than both St. Delyn's and the Golden Gryphon.

Now, we do get a free home, and I took a brief look at that. But it's not a home. Not really. It seems like a cool idea to get a free home that expands as you do content, but unless one of the wings that we haven't seen yet is actually homey - an actual livable space and not a stone temple or open courtyard-like area, then fine. But, as it is, it's just a waste of space that I won't bother decorating. I won't even bother to do the dungeons next quarter to unlock that wing, unless, of course, it's the wing that has actual livable space in it. It's nice that it's free and it's a cool concept, but definitely doesn't replace having actual homes in Elsweyr other than the free inn room.

Oh yeah...Jode's Embrace - a large notable (so Crowns only) "home." I looked at that and there's no way I can make it into an actual livable space without building walls to create more rooms. And the Plane of Jode is just a gimmick - makes it look like you're getting more than you actually are with this house. Pass.

I don't understand why you refuse to give us small/medium/large homes that are actually homes (unlike the upcoming Frostvault Chasm). I'd trade the Hall of the Lunar Champion for a small/medium home in the Hollow City, or in any of the DLCs/Chapters. I hope you truly did listen during the ESO live where you briefly talked about housing, and are planning on bringing more small/medium homes to the game. I would be ok if they were Crowns only - not everyone who is a housing enthusiast wants to spend crowns on giant, impossible to decorate "homes" - or even wants to have homes that large, even for gold.

Also, as others have mentioned, are we ever going to get Alinor furnishing documents on Faustina Curio? Or Clockwork/Murkmire for that matter? What about Dwarven/Ayleid plans?

You can craft a few of them already.. the redguard, Hlaalu and grand Alinor one, but we certainly need many more of these in the game. It would do a lot to help our issues with item numbers.
Far too many characters to list any more.

It's great to see more dragon animations in Jode's Embrace. Still seems a bit too rare though, I don't know why anyone would spend 10 minutes standing in their house not doing anything (let alone the entrance of their house).

Yeah. It's a shame, because the home is truly beautiful on the outside, and the aesthetic of Elsweyr's architecture is amazing. And yet the potential is wasted on another home with a poorly designed interior that seems unfinished. Four rooms isn't enough for a manor home (again, should've had twoo on the upper floor), and having a portal to the Plane of Jode doesn't excuse an interior of only four rooms and an unusable balcony.
