Why would selling your time for gold be a crime? Those who sell carries for real money, sure, ok maybe. But for in game gold? Nah man.

I see nothing wrong here. I happen to consider myself an avid farmer of raw materials and make rather good gold in the process, with that being said, I also make much more "Gold" when hired to carry individuals through content that they cannot complete. I have 11 characters and that can be quite expensive to maintain with pots, gold food, etc. If I'm able to provide a service to an individual in return for compensation of gold, then I will. It simply sounds like a crying child from OP bc you aren't willing to pay to get something you want. Farm. Make gold. And do what every other person does who cant complete big content. Message someone like me. Not posting on forums.

I dont have a problem with it personally but the prices they charge are insane. I inquired of a guy the other day, just out of curiosity. He wanted 1.1 mil for a carry through vet craglorn trials, and that doesnt even include hardmode or any special achievements. I mean, you could put a little bit of effort into your build and get into a raid for just the vet clear, why pay all that money?

It’s called MERCENARY WORK and it’s in game currency and in game items, if you can purchase any item in the crown store as a gift or trade any of the event rewards and motifs, why should selling carries should be against the rules? do you think the Fighters Guild and Mages Guild work for free because they love Tamriel and simply want to keep it safe? by that narrative the whole in game economy should be taken out by making everything bound since you have to earn every single loot.

I hear the Gold Coast Trading Company is looking for caravan guards....

People have been selling carries for a long time. It doesn't affect me or my gameplay, or anyone else's except the people involved, I've never seen any harm in it.
I wouldn't pay for a no effort carry but someone earlier in the thread mentioned that when doing a carry run, they stop and explain tactics and mechanics.
I would actually pay for something like that with a group of really skilled players. I can't afford it, but I would if I could. I'd want to go on and help out and feel like I earned the skin or achievement I wanted, not just get dragged through wih no effort.

Not against the rules. Against the own moral? Yeah probably. Any serious player in this game will work for the skins and not getting carried. I don't like the idea as well, it makes skins not worth a penny anymore, they used to tell something about the skill of the person owning it. These days noobs just getting carried for the elder scrolls fashion police.

Nah they often die and are just left dead.

Exactly, they do the whole trial with 12 people, 1 leaves, they invite the person buying the carry, and all they have to do is to die and go afk.

You have to be present then boss dies for achievement.
You also have to be present then loot drops for loot.
You don't have to be alive just not to far away.
if just last boss is required for reward you only need him, but that will just speed things up a bit.

As long as no real life money changes hands and only gold is used there is nothing against the ToS in selling runs for content.

Think of this as people working as mercenaries selling their skills at arms.

I always found it funny that running monopolies on spell power pots driving the prices up to 40k a stack is ok since it's just capitalism, but if the end game raiders dare make money of the hours they spend getting good at the game to pay for the expense, we must suddenly, ban them all!

The only pettiness here is being jealous of someone selling or buying a carry. This has been happening since the first MMO. ESO has specifically approved this process and it affects no ones gamplay.

Buying a carry is no different then buying an XP run or any item someone has farmed and is selling. It is part of the game economy and social interaction and is completly moral, ethical and legit as long as it is in game currency

I also think crafting for another player should be against the rules, maybe even a bannable offense. You are practically cheating and skipping the progression of leveling up your own professions.

In my opinion everything should be BoP and traders deleted from game.

While we are at it, if your characters name is what I consider true to the universe and lore it should ban you as well.

Don’t get me started on the glitching and cheating mechanic that is animation cancelling/weaving!

Ya right, just like any serious player will also level up all crafting and not buy services from a crafter or farm thier own rare item instead of buying it in a guild store and so on

You do realize this is an MMO right? We are supposed to create community that shares talent, resources and effort, not punish people for it.

I have no problems with this from 'It shouldn't be allowed' point of view. But it's a real problem when the people selling carries do not give back to the community by helping other people progress through the said raids.
There are only a handful of groups that can clear vCR+3 on a regular basis therefore afaik the price for Zmaja skin is extremely high (10+ million on PC/EU) for a 15 minute run. Now imagine if these groups start selling carries instead of helping other members get through it by leading a progression group. You will basically end up with some players on the very top of the mountain and others struggling to climb through. I don't oppose the practice of selling a carry, but I do oppose if some groups start gatekeeping the content

I paid 400k for 4 vDSA weapons. Guess I'm part of the problem.

I've often wondered how much of the demand for carry runs for the newer trials (vHoF onwards) has been down to the lack of willingness of raid groups to take newer people through them, or the focus on clearing whatever the newest trial is at a given time. Purely anecdotal thoughts.

I really don't have a problem with this, I see it as no different if someone pays me to craft them set gear. This sort of player interaction has been around MMO's for years and years.

Its legit. Some pve players only can get through 4man vet content (and get all achievement) and trial raid are good to get some achevements. Sometimes doesnt mean you are bad pve player but you just cant join through progressive guild (language barrier, different schedule, etc).

I sell a lot of stuff. Lots and lots. Tons and tonnes. Should my customers feel shame because they didn't farm those items, and instead purchased them from me? It's just a fake business transaction in a game. There's no room for shame in that silly inconsequential equation.
