    Oblivion
When I got my hands on Oblivion I thought it was trash
But then I started playing through the main quest. The prison, the king getting assassinated, the battle at kvatch, the search for Martin and so on. It was amazing. I enjoyed being a mage though I was terrified of dungeons. As they were dark and had monsters. My most feared monsters was the clannaefer and the minotaur. I also dreaded going into the realms of Oblivion n. Whenever the sky turned red signifying that a gate was nearby, I'd bolt lol. All in all I still loved it. Especially the fact that I could learn new spells and also create mine (anytime I purchased a spell book I'd rejoice). Then the ending of the game when Martin became the dragon to take down dagon. I cried that he gave his life to protect nirn
and also fell in love with elder scrolls instantly.
Then Skyrim was released and wow.
Loved the theme songs, the characters, the plot, everything.
And now i greatly enjoy playing elder scrolls online.

    Skyrim
Well I'm old enough to rememeber the first game came out and seeing it in the stores. Back in 94 I mostly played adventure games, platformers and shooters. It took 4 Fallout games for me to catch interest for this series. About a month after Skyrim got out I bought in on the first sale before Christmas.

When I heard about ESO I applied for the closed beta and got a key. Didn't really like the game at first so it wasn't until late 2015 that I actually started on Live. Well more than 3 years later I'm still here and now a big fan of the series

    Arena
I had Arena and Daggefall before Morrowind but I never liked them. Those copies are still in my collection, played about 3 hours total  As for Morrowind I literally lived there for a couple of years, leaving only to eat, sleep and earn some money to pay for food and electricity ;)

Heh, I finished Arena about 2 - 3 times yet I Betrayal at Krondor was better, hands down.

    Daggerfall
I actually tried Arena first, but it was too wonky to play - houses without walls or ground floors, enemies walking through the air, stuff like that. But it got me interested enough to download Daggerfall demo, and that one was like a miracle back then. I must've spent weeks just playing the demo dungeon over and over again, I had it memorized through and through. Of course I got the game at the first opportunity, and loved it, though I never finished it.

Morrowind—that was the game that started the love affair for me. I liked it better than either Oblivion or Skyrim. It wasn’t until ESO came out that I was once again sucked into Tamriel full-time the way I had been with Morrowind.

    Morrowind
morrowind was my first elder scrolls title as i will be a forever console player.

it was 2002 and the original xbox the first open world game i ever played and been hooked ever since.
however i purified myself of the taint from owning an xbox and went full playstation shortly after that.
oblivion and skyrim were amazing, spent lots of time there.

ESO will be my undoing lol, as i can never seem to get enough.

I didn't have Internet access until shortly before that point as I had an abusive step-father, so I simply had no way of knowing what the Elder Scrolls was, as I was cut off.

    Arena
Arena. A friend had a new computer and some games to try with it. He didn't care too much for Arena, so I... borrowed... the software and installed it on another friend's computer to play. I liked the open world (such as it was), the people communicating through dreams, and the mysterious Druids of Galen (where are they Bethesda, it's been 25 years!!!). The riddles and walking through walls were cool.

Daggerfall seemed fun, but it was so big I would get lost turning in quests and it was buggy as anything. And unlike now you couldn't just get a quick fix patch in a snap. When I lost 10 hours of progression after visiting the Orcs I gave up.

Morrrowind was awesome, even though it shrank the game world and some RP options. Very weird but cool.

Oblivion was mixed for me. Nice story and voice acting but some parts of design put me off a little. Still very fun overall.

Skryim was fine for what it was, but it was a huge departure in many ways from the series in mechanics, size, etc.

So it will be interesting to see what they do with gameplay, RP elements, etc. for TES 6.

The elderscrolls morrowind ( fell madly, deeply in love with this game ) then oblivion and now eso.
This is why morrowind on eso feels so nostalgic for me. I absolutely love Oblivion too. I have Arena and Daggerfall on my pc but haven't got round to playing those. There isnt enough time in my day atm. I would love to play tes again too and I may just do that one day.

    Skyrim
Was a mainly MMORPG(Runescape+WOW+Ultima Online) and FPS(CS, TF2) player when I played Skyrim for the first time. Loved the world so much that I went played all the old games (except I couldn't play Arena past the first dungeon, the control system aged way too badly.)

    Morrowind
Morrowind had been out for a few years before I decided to pick It up. A Gamestop employee I knew personally suggested it to me. It was my first real taste of an RPG so I was BLOWN away at the world size. And it didn't hold your hand like most games did at the time. I got lost constantly. Vivic city was a huge pain to navigate. I was overwhelmed so I stopped playing until Oblivion was announced.

Started it back up after that. The moment I found out I could murder a npc and move into his house....i was hooked. Then I found vampires and i was like I love this game. But Bloodmoon expansion made me an Elderscrolls fan for life. Turning into a werewolf was for me was pure ecstasy.

    Oblivion
    For me, it was
    - Oblivion first
    - then Morrowind
    - then (I think?) Arena, which was available for free on Bethesda's website, except I couldn't figure out how to play it
    - then Skyrim (or maybe it was Skyrim before Arena)
    - then Elder Scrolls Online
    - then Arena again, except this time I took the time to figure it out.

I've yet to install and play Daggerfall, or buy Redguard and Battlespire, but I do intend to-- if I can ever break away from ESO long enough! And I've got Legends on my iPad, although I've never tried to play it. I do intend to get and play Blades, and of course I'll get TES6 whenever it's released and play it nonstop.

The results of this poll are interesting considering Skyrim has outsold the rest of the series combined by a significant margin (like 2-3x).

I started with Daggerfall, but did not play for long because it was too buggy. I had a positive impression of TES3, but skipped it.

I didn't play Oblivion until about a month before Skyrim was released. I enjoyed it and had a great experience playing each for the first time within a month.

    Morrowind
Technically Daggerfall was the first one I played, but that was for about 10 minutes round a friends house so I didn't have time to see much of it or really do anything.

Morrowind was the first TES game I owned. When I bought it I didn't know anything about the series or that it was the sequel to Daggerfall, it was just a new RPG which several people whose opinions I trusted were talking about, so I decided to give it a go (although I did know from the title it was part of a series, but I'd never heard Daggerfall referred to as The Elder Scrolls II). I remember my friends going on and on about the graphics (especially the water) but graphics never really interested me, I was just there for the gameplay.

I remember being intrigued by the intro, but the character creator was the first thing that really got me interested. I really liked that there were cat and lizard races, I'd only see those options in 1 other RPG, and I loved that you had the option to pick individual skills and attributes instead of a pre-determined combination. Of course my first choices were terrible and I had to re-make my character a few times to find ones that worked but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy doing it.

I found the setting and lore extremely confusing. For the longest time I thought aedra and good daedra were the same thing and the Divines were something different. But I really enjoyed how much detail there was and finding it out through conversations with NPCs and reading books.

I enjoyed the whole game of course, bought Oblivion when it came out, Skyrim after that and signed up for the betas for ESO and now I'm looking forward to Elsweyr (where I've been wanting to go since finding out about it) and TES 6.
