Yeah, nothing wrong with crossbows as actual weapons. Granted, they've only been in two or three Elder Scrolls games total, but they're still a cool option.

thats a 3.5 K stam skill .... not a weapon that can be used to LA/HA/bow-skill which is what a crossbow as an alternative bow skin would be

on a (not so) serious notes, we already have a rifle. it comes with a string and u gotta pull the string and put an arrow in it.

Unfortunately, you did just hit on the problem with a crossbow type weapon. Heavy attacks vs light attacks. The difference between a bow and a crossbow is that you draw the bow then fire it, while with a crossbow, you fire it and then reload. The entire idea of the weapon in the single player games was that you'd use it to deal larger spikes of damage with more downtime. The light attack/heavy attack dynamic doesn't really work with that model.

That said, it leaves the door open for the crossbow to be something really unique, where you have heavy spikes followed by a long cooldown. Though, my concern in that situation would be that the crossbow would be players performing coordinated alpha strikes with them.
