I want to explain here why TESO PVP need firearms. For example, today me and 3 my friends(so 4 players EP PVP group) was in Imperial City grinding bosses playing PVP etc. We confronted another group - 3 players DC group and we killed them. After first fight we killed them about 3-4 times or more today's evening. Later this evening we confronted 5 players AD group, and this time they killed us. We met them around 8 times and everytime they killed us with absolutely no chances for our group.

Now, imagine similar situations like I described above in any more or less realistic game with firearms(CS:GO, Armed Assault, DayZ etc). In any game(more or less realistic) with firearms small scale group has chances to win vs bigger or stronger group. Because firearms is deadly and one man with rifle is able to kill 3-4 guys with rifles. So if we would have guns today's evening in Imperial City, may be we could win at least 2-3 of 9 fights vs that AD group.

Oh dear. Someone better start explaining to everyone that bows, staves, aoes of various types, and the fighter's guild silver bolts won't kill anything. If only "firearms is deadly"./sarcasm This concept might be unbelievable to the many people in the pvp/battlegrounds in the game who end up getting killed at a distance without firearms..... Even in the "good old days" the dwemer never bothered with firearms. Giant walking crossbow siege machines, yes. Firearms, not so much.

The Dwemer probably never thought of sticking a lump of Iron into one end of a tube and some Kindlepitch into the other and igniting it. Either that, or they did think of it and went, "Nah dude we could make something WAY better that walks around and stuff."

We also need tanks and attack helicopters.

Besides, I've heard often enough here in the forums that anything added to ESO is officially lore. So it seems that anything, no matter how nonsensical, can be added to the game and - bam! - official TES lore. It's that easy.

You get Crossbows. There's your "Firearm".

This ^ well sorta... Only Three versions from one skill... but yeah.

EVEN if they did, it wouldn't be what the OP would want, and given even the most advance Dwemer tech it would all still result into one category for firearms; Flint Lock.

I couldn't even imagine that boring combat animation for rifles, or pistols... would just be absolutely terrible, but that powder bag would ... yeah still look terrible.

Hell - let's bargain here, just make Flint Lock Rifle/Pistol part of Fighter's Guild - Using the same Silver Bolt's Skill line/morphs, change leash to slug, and a 1.5sec stun instead of a pull, remove the snare, and turn Crossbow skill into an actual weapon choice (Would work great for my Khajit and Argonian Highwaymen RP)

Would rather have Crossbows as an actual weapon choice for Physical Range DPS as an alternative to Bows.
plus DW/CB and CB/DW sounds much cooler than FL(or FA) which just sounds sad.

Why not some tactical nuclear weapons if we are already at it ;) ?
One or two could actually end the alliance war!
Let me consult with Anu and Padomay and I will get back to you :D

But seriously, guns have no place in ESO due to lore as others already mentioned.
If you really want to use guns, there are games with guns that you can play...
Some videos I recorded for fun: Main character:
PC EU main: Universe - AD magicka Sorcerer, Former Emperor, Grand Overlord, The Merciless, Trial Bosses Solo Champion
Top alts: Genius(stamina/sagicka Dragonknight) The Force(stamina Nightblade) and other chars.
PC NA main: The Magic - AD magicka Sorcerer
Started playing ESO in beta & early access

Or, y'know, said individual can just go learn to shoot, and then hunt. Sometimes, killing your own food is a good thing. We've done it for years (well, until we got too old to go there safely).

And that's the point really. Killing your own food is really great. Until you can't safely hike up to where said food on the hoof lives....

Not everything has to be Call of Duty or Fortnite kid. Yes I called you a child, no sane adult would suggest putting guns in a Dark Fantasy MMO.

I was going to say, "but Warhammer Fantasy," then I stopped and thought about the, "sane adult," clause there.

I mean, if you have a dark fantasy setting that's based on Early Modern Europe (16th/17th century), then, yeah, there's absolutely a place for firearms.

Also, in fairness, ESO isn't really Dark Fantasy. It lacks the bleakness usually associated with that genre, though the degree of moral ambiguity available to the player in franchise isn't out of line for that, so it's not a hard, "no."

Well I shook my head.. posted a double face palm, but then this stuck with me...

This guy's premise is... IF they had guns they could've won.

Obviously for whatever reasons, this other group was kicking their butts, I just have this feeling that if both sides had guns the outcome be the same. ("Oh but if had lasers... it be different.")

OR only his group is allowed to have guns for some reason?

@jcm2606, I've got a bunch of those that I'm not allowed to post on here, because they're a violation of the community rules. Which is a bit disappointing, but in this case, I also think you're mistaken. I don't think @Alcest isn't baiting here. His ideas are, legitimately, that out there.

Nope, you don't have notable chance to kill considerably more skilled group in FPS. But thing is that competitive FPS has MMR and don't have exploits (mostly), so it's rare that you will see such wipe-after-wipe in there.

No, thank you. Also, I think that you're forgetting that those AD players would get equal access to any powerful weapon added to the game (and that other abilities would need to be buffed to maintain balance). It seems to me that the most probable outcome of your proposal would be that you and your friends would have died faster to AD's increased firepower.

Yeah, nothing wrong with crossbows as actual weapons. Granted, they've only been in two or three Elder Scrolls games total, but they're still a cool option.

I agree. Same goes for Harley Davidson type motorcycle “mount” ideas.

I will cancel my sub and uninstall the game immediately.
