Character won't load

They have extended events in the past because of various issues,so fingers crossed.

As for Steam,avoid if at all possible.

I can login normally to characters. Maybe a bit long loadscreens, but other than that all seems to work fine. PC/EU, not a Steam user.

In other words, if you're a PC/EU Steam user, you're still screwed.

So...I must be the only Non Steam user who cannot log in... or even hit Play, can't even hit the "X" top right to close the Launcher...But! it disappears after 2 min anyway...well hmmm

i cant also not log in without steam, with steam i cant logging, without steam i get in loadscreen but get send back to loggin

been this way since thanksgiving, successfully get to area once in 10's of tries - can't use a wayshrine out of current area.
can't teleport to guild mate.

sorry, "not on steam" and did a full unistall and install of both live and pts in the past few days. "requesting character load...
kicks back to account login page 99% of the time.

Nope, I'm non-steam and I can't even get to the log in screen without crashing

so how about you expand on the message that "some Steam users are having an issue" Does that mean that 'some' are able to logon ?


Oh and fixed it:
"We are aware that some Steam players are having issues logging into the North American and European PC/Mac megaservers. We are actively investigating and will let you know when we have an update. F you, steam users!"

About an hour ago I was unable to start the application for the same reasons listed in previous posts. Using the option tab on the launcher ,I used ,"repair". I was able to launch and enter the game on a character. It did take approximately 30 minutes to repair and about 5 minutes to load from the character screen which is typical on my rig after a patch.

Maybe ZOS can finally make a way to switch from Steam-linked account to a normal one? Ok, I can spend additional 40 euro but I'd like to be sure that worths it. Now if I log in on https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/ using my account (which is Steam-linked) I even can't buy the game in ESO store (I thought maybe that can re-link the account to their own but apparently I was mistaken...)

If you are playing on Steam, this is a known issue currently with some Steam users. We are currently investigating this issue and expect to post an update soon.

If you purchased the game via Steam, you can only login via Steam as the ESO Launcher is considered a separate platform. We unfortunately do not have the ability to transfer account information between platforms.

So, craziest thing. I tried to do something else from a different viewpoint. I'm back in playing with no problems.
Here's what I did;
Unplugged my Fios Hardwired cat5 input line
tethered my Cellular iPhone to my gaming tower
Viola!
Downloaded, lickety split no problems.
Closed the launcher, because now for whatever reason I could access buttons like the "X" pfffft
Untethered, plugged back in my Fiber optics and logged in perfectly to the game.
Who knew o.O

day 10 of only succeeding "Requesting character Load..." about 1% of the time. on a success i'm stuck in VVardenfeld since a jump to another area, eg "the rift" ALWAYS fails back to the account loging page.

been in contact with eso trouble shooters Tamara and Tuesday all day long trying everything but the kitchen sink to get a toon loaded. nothing has worked. sure thing is on the server side and not the client side.
