Because when you've experienced the majority of the game after years of playing, there are a few things you fall back on to keep yourself entertained:And this being a roleplaying game, cosmetics are a pretty important part of building a character's "lore", as it were. When so much of those cosmetics are locked behind tall RNG walls or are temporarily available for unreasonable amounts of time and then later placed behind those RNG walls, it's irksome to those that wish to make their characters complete without feeling highly pressured into obtaining the necessary items before they're gone.

++ schoolboys think that if somebody buys something "expensive" it can be done only to show off etc, they don't understand that for adult this 3.5k crowns is literally cost of one meal IRL and this or other mount can be bought it for roleplayin' reasons or like part of mount furniture for dwemer house etc.
I'd rather take the 7 McDonalds meals over 1 in game mount

this 3500 is a discount if i'm remembering right i paid 5000 for the mounts i have wanted in the past.
right?
"Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.”

Just a little perspective here:
The original Dwarven Spider mount was 3000 crowns. The blue-light special reskin was 4000 crowns. So, this reskin is also 4000 crowns, discounted by 10% for ESO+, so 3600 crowns.
I was perfectly happy to spend the 3000 crowns on the original spider mount, since I wanted it and thought it was cool. Plus, it was only 500 crowns more than the usual price of 2500 for limited-time mounts.
The Dro-m'Athra senche mount was 4,000 crowns when it came out years ago. The frost horse was 3500 crowns, and it came out even earlier, like within a year of the CS launching. The kagouti mounts were around 4k, iirc. This mount certainly isn't out of line with a lot of other limited-time mounts. It's even cheaper than the most expensive mount - the great stag, which was 4500 when it came out.
But, was I hoping for a more substantial discount? Yes, I was, but looks like we're only getting 10% discounts on exclusive offers, which so far look to be only time-exclusive offers.
Also, I'm not saying that 3600 crowns or 4000 crowns or even 2500 crowns is cheap, but what I'm saying is that it's not the most expensive mount to date and it's not at all out of line with even the pricing of quite old mounts (Dro senche, e.g.).

I don't get why people even care about mounts and other cosmetics. I like my default brown horse and how I can use the Outfitting station to make my character look like regular NPC that blends in rather than look like some shiny superhero, like the rest of the shiny superheroes.

Let me clarify - 15$ for reskin is absurd price for group of pixels.. in case if it is just group of pixels for person who buy it. But in case it is critical part of your RP experience.. this experience has more worth then 7 double whoppers. I won't buy this spider cause i don't care about ebon dwemers. But I bought that Auroran warhorse since one of my mains is something like Meridia champ. I really even don't appreciate much looks of this horse, but it was fitting my RP for this toon, so I just bought it for those dlc-price.

Oh wow, if you don't own Summerset they really want to slap that fact in your face i see. :P

It won't be rare, it is on discount for ESO+, then on general sale for all later in the month ( or a few weeks )
'The Ebon Steel Dwarven Spider mount will first be available in the Crown Store in November as an exclusive ESO Plus Deal, then later to all players in December'
You are not even paying over the top for an exclusive mount
Ya know, if people are willing to pay for it, why blame ZOS?
Todd Howard also told why Bethesda kept re-releasing Skyrim; because as long as people will buy it, they will create it.
Mounts are optional, there's no reason to complain over this mount more than any other. Let people buy a cosmetic if they want to buy a cosmetic. Why do you care?

Not complaining about this specific mount, but ZOS's cosmetics are grossly overpriced compared to actual game content, especially the mounts (up to 4500 crowns). Orsinium wasn't even this expensive. It's pretty crazy pricing.
And I would know. I've bought a ton of mounts (I currently have 61 mounts).
It's all well and good that it funds the game, but lets not pretend that these "cosmetics" are a value buy, ok?
dwemer_paleologist wrote: »ah yes... this is more inline with what i was remembering.
for some reason i could have sworn i paid 5000 for extreme rare mounts.
so im not sure what i paid to be honest but your list seems more realistic, because to me 3600 does seem not as bad as what people are saying.
