I know there are many issues with the coming of Murkmire, and there are many Discussions about them on the Forums (please talk about those issues on the related ones). I just want to share and talk about my Murkmire Lanscape Atmosphere experience.

First the music is soo good soo chill, I spent some minutes to just listen to it on the beach, real quality time for me. The visuals and landscaping are very pleasent, I really like Shadowfen, but Murkmire is on another level, especially the caves, they are gorgeous. The ruined village on the beach has such unique atmosphere. The three settlements are distinct and memorable.

Clockwork City was my favorite DLC but I think with Murkmire the first place is shared now. Thank you ZOS for this truly atmospheric experience, I doesn't completed all the quests yet, but I really enjoyed the ones I did.

I hope others also enjoy the new zone, and share their experience.

The zone and quests are great, just a shame about the combat changes.

I find Shadowfen to be among my least favorite zones, mostly because it is unpleasant to navigate through, but I have to agree, the Murkmire zone is appealing, with a lot of cool creatures and plants. I was only there for a short while yesterday to attune the three crafting sets, but definitely want to come back to explore more.

If we ignore the horrible combat changes, the zone itself and monsters/NPCs there is nice. I had little time to play yesterday, and spent most of it just exploring the zone, hunting flowers and looking at lizard bears  It was very hard to go back to dull crafting writs... New flowers which attack me got me confused for some time, I didn't know you have to sneak literally on top of them to disable, so I was trying to attack them in and out of stealth for some time :D Other player was fishing nearby and watching my attempts, I felt a little ashamed but it was hilarious :D And I feel sad for little flowers which hide from me, but I have to loot them in hope to get one such flower to place at my home <3

And I really love that we got Haj Mota pet with this DLC, I wanted to have Haj Mota pet so much :) I would prefer red one which came with Hist CE, but this green one is also nice.

Wildlife and zone developers did good job. Developers of combat nerfs did bad job :|

ZOS devs are like the good, the bad and the really ugly.

Music and sound team is always top notch, same with zone designers and loremasters. They are the good guys.

Story and writing is hit and miss, most of the writing is shallow, forgettable and the amount of "comic relief" that's hardly comic at all is a staple fallback for the writers here. It's not terrible, but it's pretty bad at times.

The real prize goes to the combat and balance team though, shared with the (non-existant?) QA team. Every patch reveals a plethora of hillariously depressing bugs and glitches, as well as huge balancing oversights that never get fixed before 3-6 more months have gone. They're the really ugly.

I too love the atmosphere, I'm really enjoying questing in Murkmire, listening to the music and learning about the different argonian tribes. I just love those animated plants!!

Altought there are many very simple quests, I have a feeling that with each new story content they improve a little, and I did more quests that I enjoyed (most of them not memorable, but there are some), then quests where I had a 'meh' or bad feeling.

My hope is that they add more/improve the animations on NPCs so they compliment the quests better

Like you I have been enjoying Shadowfen and expected Murkmire to be similar - and ZOS delivered on that, I haven't done any quests there yet, I have been wandering around and take in the atmosphere and beauty of this swampy and somewhat mystic area. For example I did not find out yet, what makes my Argonian walk and sneak with a much higher speed (even leaving tails behind, when I move) in certain locations. I never experienced that in Shadowfen, so I guess that is a feature of Murkmire. But I have no clue yet, what is causing it.

As I continue to explore Murkmire, I found more and more amazing details. New creatures are awesome. I can't wait for Xanmeer crown crates - I need all these scaly mounts!
NPCs are so vivid. They interact with each other as if they are real, and theit dialogues are full of cultural lore. Naga... they deserve to be mentioned particularly... I saw two of them so far. They are awesome. The way they look, the way they are dressed, the way they talk.
The landscape is the best in game so far. Finally, everything is covered with thick grass! And dark-green beasts are hiding in this dark-green bushes... And all the swamp gives a true feeling that everything is deadly, everything wants to eat you. Amazing feeling!
    I love the music.
And I'm astonished by the lore. One small epitaphy to Emperor Kastav fills a huge lore gap. Just a couple os sentences give a full picture!
Costumes. Awesome new Argonian costumes. And - did you notice? A lot of Khajiit costumes and jewelry! May it be another hint for next chapter?

    @Lysette,
the increased speed is caused by harvesting Scuttle Bloom - I was also surprised with this effect on my Argonian
