Lost ALL items from my crowded bank

I suggest submitting a ticket. Hopefully you get it resolved.

Unfortunately I would not hold out to much hope. I lost bank space before, not do to my actions at all, and lost many items as a result. Zos originally stated they would replace what I lost but reneged.

Eventually I got a few thousand gold to replace everything I lost. Since I did not have an itemized inventory of what I lost Zos chose to not do anything more.

If there was even a slightest possibility of "red" slots being removed from the bank, it should have been stated with an exclamation mark in the ESO Plus rules. Since it's not - how could anyone ever suspect such a thing to happen?

Should I clear all my house decorations that exceed the limit due to ESO Plus as well? That's ridiculous.

I'm in the same boat, had 480/240 slots, my character inventory only had 70 open spaces, meaning 170 items of gear, majority being dungeon and monster, just disappeared. Also got the same email about them looking into it and supposedly following up.

It took hundreds of hours to grind for that gear, and if ZOS does not restore them, I am done with this game FOR GOOD. Skyrim is still very enjoyable, probably because ZOS isn't involved.

It is also incredibly insulting to hear fanboys like bongtokin420insd16 flippantly trying to justify the unjustifiable. ZOS has been very clear about what happens when the sub lapses (i.e. you can remove your items, but not add any more), and to suddenly change this, without any warning, is borderline criminal.

I don't know whether this was an accident or intentional, whether ZOS is merely incompetent or completely ruthless in their greed, either way, not fixing this IMMEDIATELY and treating it as high priority is a slap in the face of ALL ESO players, and the time and money we have invested into the game.

Is this maintenance today going to do anything? Like the only way to get our items back it's with a rollback and that's too late imo

Jeez, and here I am, not knowing if I lost anything. Because I too unsubbed recently and might have had some overhead in my inventory. Damn, it makes me even more paranoid about storing anything valuable in available in-game storage.

Not that I have other options, my char slots are full, and half of them are storage chars after ZOS' previous lapse with homestead storage. I don't think this is how my characters are meant to be used. What a hassle. Inventory management in this game is often painful.

And I have to go and check my houses, whether they lost any items due to being overpopulated with furniture after eso+ cancellation

Yep, that's possibly the most annoying thing about this - the lack of communication. Do we have to do something, or not to do something? Can we actually use the bank as usual? Nobody's bothering to tell us.

Technically, each item must have its own line in the database, so they shouldn't be lost, they're just floating around somewhere "in between" with no location assigned. Unless those "loose items" were discarded during the server maintenance - but even then they should recorded be in the pre-patch backup. In short, our chance of getting our stuff back depends on the laziness of admins. ;)

I'd assume we should keep back space to 200 max even for ESO plus people till the bug is fixed.

Nothing worse than loosing monster helm/special quest items and expensive gear to this bug :(

Those who received the reply from ZOS, what particular type of the ticket did you send?
I'm asking since I submitted it in the "bug" section and got only automated reply which stated that they got information, will pass to devs it and won't contact me back....

I too submitted a "bug" from in-game support in the beginning, then went to the website's "support" section and submitted another ticket. Got the reply to the second one.

Here goes: in-game support --> sub-category "I have an item issue" --> "bank, storage, inventory issue".

@ZOS_GinaBruno , @ZOS_JessicaFolsom or anyone please give us hope and at least show some interest to the matter.

i used request for help>character and left a small description of the problem, whoever read my ticket (whether it was a bot or not) changed it to character/bank/inventory and said it would be investigated

This is ZOS' way of punishing you for unsubbing.

Just keep bugging them until you get compensation. Either your items back, or a huge stack of crowns/free sub months.

    Hey all,

We can confirm that we are aware of these reports and are investigating the issue.

    Thank you!

Seeing that this seems more widespread I would like to remind people last time there was wide spread loss of bank inventory Zos promised much then basically did not do anything to replace lost inventory.

During the first months of this game many players lost all bank space they purchased and were reverted to the base 60 slots.

Zos promised to replace the lost inventory. They even stated they had means to see what we had, what we had lost.

After about a week of them working to figure out what happened, and a fix, they changed their mind to they would provide us gold to replace our lost bank space and to purchase from guild traders what we had lost.

    1. they did not even bother to give me enough gold to replace my lost bank slots, had to ask for more.
    2. Unless we could tell them what we actually had in inventory they would not replace it. Who keeps an inventory.

I hope they actually do you right this time but history shows the word of Zos in these matters does not mean squat.

    This was the original thread.

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/77461/missing-bank-items-bank-slots-skill-points/p1

This was the comment Zos could see what we had in our inventory and our inventory history.

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/618874/#Comment_618874

This is where we were told we had to itemized what we lost to get it replaced. Again, who keeps inventory.

Yea sounds like for that issue they ran into too many people impacted for them to look at each person quickly.

Honestly, I would just itemize things you remember in your bank. They will probably replace based on that instead and only check to see if you were impacted or not by the bug in order to stop people from lying about losing items.

I think I can know what I had in my bank roughly, give or take a margin of error of about 5%.

My bank inventory was razed as well from ca. 410 to 240. My ingame tickets, sent two days ago, regarding this issue are yet to be answered.
Altough i may have misunderstood the ticket system, first i sent a ticket via the bug/feedback option. After sending this a message showed up which stated that I don't have to expect an answer. But i want to know if my issue is acknowledged and therefore would natrually expect a reply. To obtain such, i used the ask for help function. Is this the normal way to communicate such problems, at least the possible category choices seemed quite off?

Keep in mind your bank space is supposed to be reduced down to 200 slots but keep your items (you just can't place items in the bank until you readch below 200 slots). The problem is the game was sending the overflow items to your inventory and then if that had no more space, deleting the rest of your items.

I still havent logged on to check, but im expecting to lose a majority of the sets I collected or special items from quests.

No, it shouldn't be necessary to clear any spaces whenever you switch subscription model, but common sense suggests that if someone makes a habit of changing the basis on which space limits are calculated then that will increase the chance of something going wrong as compared with someone who retains the same subscription model continuously (whether they subscribe or not), not least probably in the event of these things also being affected by addons.
