THE SERVER PERFORMANCE OF THIS GAME IS UNACCEPTABLE

FFS, is it so damn hard to ask for a game that runs? I understand that Vivec is a laggy mess, but man every time my group tries to go in there there is almost never a moment where the full team is online and isn't trying to log back, or in the process of disconnecting. Even PvE, it's pretty common for people to crash when the trial start, midway through a boss, on trash mobs, etc.

ZOS has said in the past they have one, one whole, one entire engineer looking at these issues. IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR ADDITIONAL RESSOURCES ABOUT THIS?

You can't be like ''Fix server performance'' while also throwing your wallets at virtual ponies and 100 buck digital caves.


Its not gonna be fixed, not because its technically impossible(there is no impossible, only low budget), but because there is no reason for them to do so.

It might be. We know the game makes money, sure. We don't, however, know how much of that money is allocated to resources. Meaning we don't know how much of that money makes its way back into the game.

Personally, I'd be happy if I could just bar swap reliably and have abilities fire when the button is pushed. Would go along way to improve my gameplay.
But at this stage, highly doubtful we'll ever see this stuff truly fixed.
Just the way it is.

As i always say keep the threads coming. Maybe one day when the forums is all performance threads they will finally fix it. But i think that all of us who give a *** will quit by then. Between lag and massive zergs, cyrodil is just not fun to me anymore. I dont even play.. It really sucks..

But when i did pvp i didnt go into viv on the weekends. On the weekends, after primetime and until like midnight, its beyond unplayable. Its just rage inducing.

I did actually go in tonight to grab a set to test from bruma.. Laggy as usual. Got trampled 3 times by at least 24+ groups, while alone, and left. Nothing new.

i cant speak for things over seas but i can say in the states people on salary get bonuses depending on sales, if youre "hourly" you get nothing but a paycheck no matter how good the company is doing. i hate to say this but this is personally how i feel at my job, if im getting the same and more than likely less than what i should be paid im going to just do "what i have to". im not trying to defend zos, but they are in the states. so what could be going on is like any company in the states theyre short on help and under paid while they also are supposed to meet dlc timelines. again not defending them but still if you worked in an environment where the only thing they care about is sales no matter the cost of employees you would feel the same.

I cant even vigor barswap. to vigor i have to stay on that bar for 2 seconds. ALso the double CC is getting ridiculous. My character would stand still, then i break free, then i get knocked back, and then after i break free the second time my character would be sliding on the floor. WTF. I hate the people making this game. Homestly so much issues with the server and the loading screen. What do they do about it? They nerf sorcs

Maybe you aren't playing the fun parts of the game.
Have you tried jewellery crafting?
Have you tried home decorating?
Have you tried collecting Purple recipes?
Have you tried getting 100 Million in gold?
Have you tried making your guild master rich?

Many, many players are doing this and apparently enjoying it.

No point moaning about it, you will just get ignored, even when they try to put a fix in it makes it worse.

They know it is bad by the way they do not have the decency to answer questions or the balls to hold their hands up about the problems.

With exploding bridges and smaller areas to all run into it will only get worse.

I don't think revenue from subs remotely matches crown crate revenue.....which is the issue .....the game is now designed about maximizing crown crate revenue

Maybe everyone should stop trying to pile into Vivec all the time, the other Campaigns are dead because of that, and let me tell you, Shor is nowhere near as bad as Vivec when it comes to instability.

They are still making money, ppl are still pvping (albeit lesser and lesser ppl are doing so) so why would they spend money on fixing something they can keep "improving" with babysteps over 10 years.

So true mate, so true. If you guys wish the game to improve then show it with your EsoPlus sub or crown store purchases.
There is no other way to convince them to fix vital aspects of the game.
Money is the only costumer feedback these guys understand.

loading screens during fights......you die......try respawn at camp....loading screens......you respawn dead,camp is burned,no1 there to revive......loading screens.......... and then YOU GET A RESPAWN COOLDOWN for the next camp

Too bad most have no idea what they are talking about saying SERVERS...when there's every Network Hop between you and ZOS Datacenter, including Firewalls, Storage, Memory, Database Servers, Application Servers, Fiber Optics, not to forget session transactions and messages/states between your virtual session on the "Server" and another players... It's a SYSTEM that can be profiled, and stressed of course.

PVP might be the best use case of such stress. and Zos should know exactly what part(s) of the infrastructure are bottlenecked when stresses occur.

I can't figure out what the issue is. If I play Overwatch or LOL, I have 30ms ping and butter gameplay.

In ESO, I'm lucky if I can light attack weave. But I'm not sure what's wrong. I watched LZH perform in a trial and he doesn't have any of my issues. I wonder if there is bad routing in my area.

Since I'm a regular member of the group that Gabe is running, I can partially answer that.
Since the group includes a lot of people well under CP cap, we've tried Sotha Sil. A lot.
Performance I would agree is far better, we don't usually have people disconnecting regularly. Abilities fire off, I don't get locked out of my skill bars for no particular reason, etc.
The population dynamics at the time we play are problematic. We play DC; at our typical times, there are relatively few DC on, and often times there's no more than one group willing to try to attack the other factions. AD has huge numbers and plays very defensively, with people at most-all of their back keeps, and our group of maybe 8-10 is often overrun by 20-30 or more. If we've managed to flag where we're attacking, it's rare for others in the faction to take advantage of it and attack something else (and we will typically call out our move in zone, so it's not a mystery).
We haven't tried Shor as much, but when we have it's often been similarly frustrating.

Vivec is big, it's running for 30 days, so many people would prefer it over other campaigns. I understand that, it's my home campaign as well. So that campaign naturally gets crowded lot more (especially on weekends where I'd be a masochist to queue for it), and seeing as all the abilities cast, player positions change and many other things have to be calculated within the game, then sent between the server and client computers, it makes sense that the performance is so terrible, and nothing is (can be?) done about it.

Doesn't mean it's acceptable in a modern MMORPG, I mean some lag spikes are always there in such online games, but not to such extent that you can barely play content. It means the game is not in a polished state, the company cares more about making money out of the game than providing a good gaming experience to players, and as such it discourages me from falling for the many money luring baits within the game unless I have to (like ESO+ which is useful enough). Would the performance be better, I'd be more willing to spend my money on the game to help it running better (knowing that I'd help it to contunie to run smoothly), but as it is right now... no.
