I am so sick and tired of asking when this is going to be fixed.

Zenimax, you people don't seem to understand.

NOTHING, on my end has changed. Check my twitch and youtube, I streamed all the time. I was playing with low ping, did not see any lag, and certainly no disconnects. Until October and then worse in November, what ever YOU did needs to stop and get reverted back to the way it was.

I , and I am sure so many others now are so fed up and disgusted to the point to being sick to the stomach about this, I can imagine the wall of hate and resentment building over this game.

Never in the history of gaming has there have been such a poorly handled customer relations department until now.

People like us, that depend on the connection instead of being funneled all over the place for the information to reach it's destination is ridiculous. We can't pve, can't pvp, can't run a dungeon, worse can't even run maelstrom arena vet or normal cuz your trash adds clog up the transit line with boggy information so by the time we realize something bad is happening,,,,,,,yea we be already dead!

If only we lived in a cartoon world build on make believe rules to join together and hit you with a law suit of damages of stress and anguish. But we don't.

You didn't even take a note of the pioneers before you in how they resolved lag issues like Warcraft and such. No, you simply took a pve fan based rpg, made it serverside, turned it into pvp by writing simple code like

By the time you actually do something, I'll be dead.

I guess the better question we should be asking is, who is above you? Whom can we contact that is far above you in decision making that we need to speak to in order to get this fixed? Someone on a high paygrade. The shakers and movers, those that sign your paycheck. Also who is the president of the company, what number can we reach them?

If there is more that 1 person complaining about the same issue, and taking in factor not all people post about the same thing the same way if they decided to post at all because not many care about forums, or don't read and or write in the same language, could be younger players or older players that care less or simply see there is an issue and shelf the game and just take a loss.

I'm not kidding, by the time you fix this, I will more than likely be dead. Then none of this is going to matter to me anyway.

Been gettin similar tracerts. PvP on any server unplayable...disconnects with one other player onscreen......PvE lag spikes and rubberbanding.......sorry, sub since beta outta here.....

Every weekend latency just skyrocket making cyrodiil unplayable. Disconnects and almost constant 999+ ping.

Starting with that node, I would not necessarily expect traceroute and ping to work properly. I would not trust the numbers.

For example, I am not having latency issues (edit: currently 95-133ms) in the game, and here is an example of what it looks like when I hit Prolexic:

You are coming in through San Jose while it looks like I am coming in at Dallas.

One does not have to take the individual numbers literally to notice a very repeatable pattern:

Yup Same here from South Africa. Since September. I tried since then until a week ago. If I was able to clock 2 hours of game-time it'll be a lot.

I've given up trying, its not on my end, nothing changed, Blizzard games works just fine, Steam works just fine. Guess its time to just go back to World of Warcraft... not as pretty as ESO, but at least it [snip] works!

The silence from zenimax is only a true admission to the blame. If anything, if you had noticed the change in input from the public, and we are all in agreement with, is the issue first started in the last week of September (2018) where 2 files from an entire packet in these patch updates for the launcher has been a catalyst.

Next, we are all in agreement that Since October ping has been getting higher and higher, more lag, and most of all people posting about disconnects.

November is far by thee worse as it has been in just a very short amount of time.

The traces all add up, the personal surveys all add up, the numbers and routes as our connections are being bottle necked, , , All add up to one very noticeable conclusion.

Akamai.

Regardless if zenimax contracted with them 4 years ago, a year ago, or just 3 months ago, it is OBVIOUS this is where a major component of this entire equation is causing, if at best, an unstable connection.

Again and again and again, Zenimax, being on the hush hush, is only ruining their own reputation.

Oh and making matters worse by hosting events where as they know, a lot more people will be logging in and making this issue ever more worse for the rest of us that is , as it well seems, being specifically targetted. Thus, being just a theory, the offering of additional free crowns for eso plus, free in game content like mounts and the recent Molag bal furniture, the promise of a really cool looking and unique indrik mount. Do the math. Zenimax knows this is [snip] and they're not saying anything about it, and more than likely due to the fact that it is company policy not to discuss in house policy, politics, contracting, legal, public relations being limited in only addressing standard issues like :

Check your router and modem
check your ports
Call your ISP provider
Shut down certain start up programs
Eliminate any addons that may also cause lag
Reboot your pc
uninstall and reinstall ESO
Run the game consultant
Check the host.developer document
Use """ipconfig /flushdns""" function, unplugged Router, Modem, cleaned cookies, cache, plugged back in modem then router
Open Ports: TCP / UDP Ports 24100 through 24131
TCP / UDP Ports 24300 through 24331
TCP / UDP Ports 24500 through 24507

Which is all the standard troubleshooting, and I'm sorry, even though maybe, just maybe I would not understand all that, but to be addressed in a way like im an [snip] idiot and be told "check with your I S P and ask them what they are doing?

I mean lets be real about this, if all this time everything was fine, then one day out of the blue, and just like that, and coincidentally all these issues are randomly happening to people from very different locations and some with very different I S P providers, would not it make some sense to even a laymen that the issue is in fact, very much in deed, a zenimax issue?

How many of you tried the dns flush? If you had, I promise you, you had experienced worse connection ever since. Yes? That one is my favorite troubleshooting technique ever. Because it more than likely deleted a good stable connection IP from the list that made these issue 10 to 15 % less likely to happen.

But hey, if zenimax doesn't want to talk about, as they sit there with their smiling faces, as they sit and smile at you while they stream on their Twitch channel then , well thats fine. Oh it's very nice if you happen to live very close to their server, to which those so called loyalist will say nothing bad , wrong or negative about zenimax and think the world of them, or those that live further away that have more than a 300 MBPS internet service or an ISP that has better contracts with net transit providers like akamai or shawcable or whatever as an example. We all know that these things cost, so why not have specific contracts like filtering out which area gets standard service and which area gets elite service (premium).

Again, it come down to confidentiality. Zenimax isn't going to risk breach of contract by publicly accusing the service they're using that was mean to provide service to us. The gamers. Because then how would it look at a legal stand point? What would be their proof? A knuckle head like me bee otching about an issue as a single individual, not enough people posting about it really. Corporate isn't goining to send a zos Representative on field mission to other states much less other countries to test conntections to use as proof. You won't see zos in Hawaii, Australia, Germany, Africa for example with their super deluxe laptop and desktop to test their game's latency. That would be absurd!

All I know, is this, based on my trace, I am just fine with shawcable, then when my IP hits Akamai, which has NOTHING to do with my personal isp (inter service provider) which is spectrum, akamai bottlenecks my IP and it get's timed out, pushed off, high ping, lag and disconnect. Mate, thx for the insightful infos and theories. Yes....same and more and more worse issues here in Germany. Additionaly ZOS completly ignores the german community at all so we will never get a good ESO for some reason.

I think Zenimax lowered payment rates to Akamai for lower priorities to gain more profits of the game. That's all.

PVE players have less issues than PVP players especially on CP campaigns. PVP players are just a little bunch of players compared to the PVE side. They are way less important to ZENI than PVE players buying crowns and shop items. Therefore ZOS won't ever fix anything at the PVP performance and functions.
Just a theory by myself.

I use to stream ESO everyday from lil old New Zealand. I love ESO, its life. But support had nothing for me - in the end they told me they cant do anything else for me and have sent info on to the appropriate channels and that i should do some bug reports in game. This was 2 weeks ago, my ticket is closed now. Nothing has changed and the high ping is still here. Late September it started for me. Over a month dealing with support. Im disappointed. I still try to stream ESO but its a struggle - i do writs, end game content!! I shall wait.

So here is yet another victim and the time frame fit.

September, 2 files in a full packet are targeted as trojan on the web forcing most of us to download manually or use vpn at our own risk that cost already , may others but I can speak for my self, $800 after vpn let virus into my hard drive and destroyed it.

Second, October and November, shoe fits. High ping, lag, disconnects.

Zenimax, what? You think we're making this crap up?

@ZOS_GinaBruno , when is someone going to address there is a noticeable issue and someone will be looking into it? Is this really too much to ask. Your supposed to be one of the community Managers. So, Manage. Do what is right, for GODS sakes lady, silence really is just hurting your company the more time you let pass, the more it is going to lose peoples interest. And if there is a problem at Akamai, letting it go can sometimes make matters worse.

Since it is not my expertise or profession I will leave the technical jargon to the OP and other tech whizzes in here, but what I will do is use my knowledge of QQing and bumping to help steer this into light and possibly get a resolution or fix from ZoS.

All ZOS can do is pass this along to Akamai. I guarantee you that ZOS is not Akamai's largest customer, either.

Of course, ZOS could come back and let people know what is going on, but that is sort of out of character. Right?

Yup. Two months of not being able to login any of my chars reliably. My guild has probably fallen apart by now since el-GM ( me ) is offline for two months straight now.

You see the first two weeks since this started in September I could just close my eyes and try 1000 times to login my chars for a few minutes, but it got old fast... now I'm not event trying anymore. I'll just check when this thread ( and other related threads ) starts dying, before I waste my time, because I'll just be getting p****d-off all over again.

In the meantime, theres TONS of other games that ACTUALLY WORKS...

Fired up ye olde forum account just for this. I ran the tracert command from a few pages back because I noticed that suddenly I was pinging a nonstop red 999+ and decided to investigate on the forums. I have a similar result; as soon as it encountered akamai.com ping doubles.

In-game things are unplayable and I'm not getting low enough latency to do anything more complicated than craft writs.

From what I'm reading here there's absolutely no point to filing a support ticket. I'm not interested in getting the run around from a tier one grunt with a script or an autoreply bot.

Yup, you will just be kept busy by kicking the can down the road and somehow feel good that you tried something. Its turning into a mini-game in itself to try to play this game.

My partner is having the same problems as people have mentioned on the thread.

Come on ESO management, don't let ego stop you from at least having open communication with the playerbase. No matter how big problem is having open communication with the players is essential.

Hello today fellow PC'rs. SO today a little experiment, that got me wondering. Ok, so if anyone (which I doubt) was following some of my post's someone recommended to me to actually pay for a vpn service. Well true enough I had looked into it and did pay for a month to see if there would be any difference.

In anycase, it did not work as intended and I actually ended up just for craps, kicks and giggles, Emailing customer support about this situation just to see if there were some master connection for me to run ESO better. Well today my first experiment resulted in failure. See example below.

So with that said, I noticed this options description. It says:

Ok, so what stood out to me, maybe I'm paranoids but, ""Restricted locations"" ? Was that the same thing as I was talking about earlier when I asked if certain locations are being targeted for standard service as opposed to premium service? I mean I get it, I understand the closer you are to the server, the better the connection. Thus fan boi's out there will never say anything bad and do a lot of brown nosing. However, and again, is it possible that the bottle necking of these IP's addresses like mine and those that are having the same issue but in different locations over the world even though their seemingly close State or countries neighbors seems to have better connection fit this scenario?

Or is it all just [snip].

I mean seriously, I'm well beyond tired of trying to figure this thing out when it should be Zenimax doing the leg work.

I'm not sure its down to geographical location as I'm in the UK playing on the NA server, while my partner is playing from the US, so geographically she is closer to the server yet shes getting the high ping problem in the tracert.

I noticed that akamai have their own community forum. It might be worth posting there to see if you can find anything out. I was reading through some posts and it seems that high ping tracerts can be caused by a server configuration setting not being setup correctly.
